Arsenal Transfer Latest – Eljero Elia & Adam Johnson
Some breaking news on the midfielder front to report. The news concerns two players who have both been mentioned in recent weeks with a possible move to the Emirates.
Eljero Elia is a player that was rumoured to be targetted by Arsenal last week, but he is yet another player that will not be arriving at the Emirates any time soon.
The Hamburg player has today signed for Italian side Juventus which will come as a blow to Arsenal fans who are desperate for an attacking midfielder to be signed.
Now some more tentative rumours that have surfaced today are those surrounding Manchester City’s Adam Johnson who has been spotted twice today. The first was on the motorway heading towards London, and the second was posted on Social media site twitter saying that Johnson is on his way to Arsenal in a season long loan deal.
Rumours yes, but there were reports on Metro at the weekend suggesting that Johnson could be on his way out of City. He started the first game of the season against Swansea City, but was replaced after 70 minutes, and in the last two league games has been on the bench and seen just 10 minutes of action.
There are exactly six hours left now before the transfer window closes and Gunners fans are becoming increasingly edgy as the news on no new midfielders is very sparse. Six hours and counting………

There are reports Honda is apparently in London for a medical. Honda is a better fit right now because we are still short in the attacking/playmaker central midfield position imho.
Johnson would still be a welcomed addition. So we’ll have Walcott, Chamberlain, Arshavin, Gervehinho, Park, Johnson fighting for 2 positions? That’s a good problem to have…

Johnson is great, hes quick, got a hell of a shot, and likes to cut in field, which would suit our play. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think he plays on the right for City no? Although I’m pretty sure he’s left footed.
We need a left winger really to fill Nasri’s (unnatural) position. Arshavin doesn’t have the pace or drive, I think Wenger would want Hazard in the centre with Wilshere.
If we landed Hazard AND Johnson, Wenger would be back in my good books.

Johnson is a clinical finisher but I only want him on permanent, screw giving a city player the right to wear the red and white. I think Arsene messed up poached park from lille who will more than likely not sell hazard to us at anytime in the future. wenger needs to make up for this blunder by bringing in the likes of Hamsik (probably going to take a cesc like 30 mil or so to lure him away from napoli), Marvin Martin who I would love to see at arsenal, or pjanic who says he is still open to a transfer from Lyon. Go get a Mid Arsene and maybe even another stiker and defender to make this tranfer window a dream-like success to gooners

We dont need to sign adam johnson, we have so many players who can play on the wing and he is not a attacking creative central midfielder, we need hamsik or hazard and m’vila and then we can steal that 4th spot from liverpool and who knows maybe even push for the title. It’s just a rumour about Johnson coming to Arsenal on loan. A very small rumour. There is nothing anywhere saying he’s leaving City and going down south other than here. Hazard is well and truly over. Liverpool have first choice to buy him as Joe Cole has gone to Lille on loan as part of the deal. I feel Wenger WILL buy a midfielder but not sure who it would be. He has shown with Mertesacker and Santos that he’s buying experience rather than youth. One more player for us will be a midfielder unless Wenger shocks us all and buys a midfielder AND a defender(Samba). They said we have left it late to strengthen with 3 days remaining and we have already bolstered our defence dramatically!!

Honda is not in London…and Is not a Wenger target…look it up. I am for bringing in a creative midfielder (who can also score) Marvin Martin, Steve Davis, Zhedran Shaqiri. Remember, we still have Wilshere, Rosicky, Ramsey, and Lansbury. We just need more back up for when they’re injured (which is now).

Johnson would be a good fit. Hazard and Honda not coming as both their clubs have confirmed this. By the way, Lansbury is likely on way to West Ham on loan. Sunu has gone to Lorient on a 4 year deal and Girvinho is a forward not a midfielder.

Confirmation from a Leverkusen source that the London club attempting to sign Renato Augusto IS Arsenal – a deal is far from agreed at the moment, with Arsenal’s opening bid far short of Leverkusen’s valuation of around €20m. Augusto, however, is keen on a move to the Premier League, and he flew into Heathrow about half and hour ago to go for a medical, in the hope that a transfer can be agreed by the deadline. Looks like this one will go down to the wire

Adam Johnson is a great player. I think he suits the style and form of arsenal. His speed and accurate passes can create great threat to the opponents.

Yes 3 siginings to improove, and all are leaders something we lacked. Park is the South Korian current captain and great speed and finishing. Prooven for the premier league? not so sure but the leadership will definetely help as long as Van Persie don’t get injured.
Mertasacker and vermalen or mertasacker and koscielny should put on great defencive partnerships. Also Mertasacker is the german captain while Vermalen is the Belgium captain. Leadership again.
We got Santos dubbed as the next Roberto Carlos and often get chosen over Marcelo for his quick feet and defencive ability. So yes finally sorted out the defence.
Now what? None of our ready made players are prooven to replace the 2 lost stars.
So while Arsene is trying to play Wilshere on Cesc role he want 2 holding midfilders technically gifted. That would be M’villa. Top target for wenger. I believe we have now bid very close to his valuation and a late minute swoop might happen…
Then the next Nasri who is bound to be better than Nasri is Eden Hazard also a top priority for Arsene and is willing to meet close to his overpriced valuation. Still a late swoop may happen. That’s it thought. It’s them or none of them.

I do not think Hazard is on due to the friction we have with Lille. Maybe we can appease them by giving them Joel Campbell for a season as we sought out his work permit issues.Then the deal may happen. However Martin Marvin and M’Vila are good prospects. There is Shiqiri who in my opinion can help us forget Hazard…Hamsik too was being persued. I hope Chamakh takes a year long tour in France so we can sign Pappis Cisse…Apparently Newcastle did not manage getting him. I also heard Bolatelli was for Medical at Emirates….

If we did get A JOHNSON I’d be delighted he’s quality but can’t see Man City wanting him to come to us.
