Arsenal Transfer Rumours – Brazilian Playmaker Is Latest Target
It is only five days ago since the transfer window closed and already the rumours are flying around about who Arsenal are going to buy in January when it re-opens.
The latest name on the rumour mill is believed to be Lazio midfielder Hernanes. Arsene Wenger added to his midfield with the signings of Yossi Benayoun and Mikel Arteta, but at 31 and 29 many people see them as stop gaps and they hope the club will add a younger star name when the transfer window opens again in January.
Hernanes signed for Lazio last year in a €11.1million deal from Brazilian side Sao Paulo and had a good first year in Italy scoring 11 goals, helping Lazio to finish in the top six which was their best finish for four seasons.
He has already bagged two goals this year as he helped his club reach the group stages of the Europa League with a 9-1 aggregate win over Macedonian side Rabotnicki.
Arsenal have already been linked with a host of midfielders including the likes of Eden Hazard, Marek Hamsik and Yann M’Vila. With funds available it will be interesting to see who is top of the list come January.

11 goals from a MF in one season is excellent! Especially if it’s achieved in a major league like the Serie A. I wonder what’s his stats in assists though?

come on guys as much as i want a new signing in january. we probalbly wont get one. we have benayoun on loan so i cant see arsene doing anything until next summer. we may get a defensive midielder but i highly doubt that also for the simple reason that wenger told coquelin to stay as back up to song and frimpong when they leave in january and diaby will be fit in about 1-2 months. and as for attackers we have benayoun as back up for gervinho. we also have arshavin, rosciky, walcott, miyaichi and chamberlain. so all in all i cant realistically seeing wenger buy until benayoun’s loan has finished, then we may buy a hazard (wishful thinking) or douglas costa etc.

In addition to the midfield, we need to look at the striking role too. Lets look for another clinical finisher too. Per is ok with TV5 and Sagna. Lets get Cahill in January and we will be a stong contenders fo the FA and Carling Cups as well as the CL.

hernanes won’t qualify for work permit. he only has 3 caps.
unless we wait till he wins eu passport in italy
