Arsenal transfer rumours 26th July 2009 – Eboue, Toure, Vucinic, Huntelaar, Kalou

News of the World
Arsenal are trying to buy Salomon Kalou from Chelsea for £7m
Well Arsene was said to have approached Chelsea last summer about Kalou, but this is a bit of a non-story really as the NOW quotes a Chelsea insider as saying: “Salomon is flattered by Arsenal`s interest but at the moment he is fully committed to Chelsea.”

Marca
Arsenal will offer 17m euros to Real Madrid for Huntelaar
They say that Spurs are the closest to making a deal with Huntelaar, who has been told he won’t play for Madrid again, but Arsenal have decided to come in with a last minute offer for the “new Adebayor”.
There is no chance of Wenger buying another striker now that Eduardo has recovered. Him and Van Persie, with Vela in reserve, is enough for Wenger.

The Mirror
Electric Eduardo will make up for Emmanuel Adebayor loss
Wenger won’t buy another striker because Eduardo is now ready to return to action (I just said that!)

Daily Star
Arsenal want Roma’s Mirko Vucinic to replace Emmanuel Adebayor
Arsenal are in talks with Roma for £17m rated Vucinic, despite the player having four years left on his contract.
Yeah right, The Star knows all! Pull the other one, its got bells on!

Sunday Times
Manchester City agree terms with Arsenal defender Kolo Toure
“Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Arsenal defender Kolo Toure as the Premier League’s most affluent football club continue their assault on the English transfer market.”
I think that after Wenger persuaded Toure not to move to City in January, that should be the end of the matter. As for “agreed terms”, i think they said the same thing at Xmas, but they have to get Wenger to agree to release him now. That won’t be quite so easy.

Sky Sports
Cesare Prandelli admits he would love to have Arsenal right-back Emmanuel Eboue at Fiorentina next season. After rebuffing Arsenal’s move for Felipe Melo, Prandelli is still very, very keen to sign Eboue, and is not shy of telling the world. “I repeat that this Arsenal lad has a stand-out driving force. I don’t want to think about other roles at the moment, also because he is not yet our player.”
This one is definitely up to Wenger. After bringing in Vermaelen, perhaps he now has no need for the unpredictable Eboue?
