Arsenal transfer rumours Dec 13th – Sterling, Jay Simpson, Wilshere and Van Der Vaart
The Sunday papers never let us down with the Arsenal rumours and today the People wins the contest for the most unlikely scenario.
They have the very strange story that Arsene Wenger is willing to get rid of the brilliant young up-and-coming striker Jay Simpson, PLUS £1m, to tempt QPR into letting the superkid Raheem Sterling join the Gunners.
They say that Sterling has asked for a move and QPR are now taking bids. Arsenal are said to have already outbid Fuham, and only have Man City as their possible rivals for the 16 year-old.
Jay Simpson has been on loan at QPR since the beginning of the season, and his excellent record of 8 goals in 14 starts has persuaded Rangers that they want to keep him past this season, but Simpson has recently spoken out, saying that he hopes Arsene Wenger recalls him to Arsenal to fill the gap left by Robin Van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner.
I certainly can’t imagine Wenger letting such a promising young striker go for nothing, to be replaced by an unproven 16 year-old. Can you?
The second rumour is that Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan has put a bid in to take Jack Wilshere on loan from January, well it’s not really a rumour because Wilshere himself revealed last week that he knew that Boro wanted him, but as Wenger turned down a similar move by Reading by saying that he wanted Wilshere to go to a Premiership club, i don’t fancy Boro’s chances of getting him to change his mind.
Another rumour this morning, is a rerun of the Van Der Vaart story, that i thought had been discounted a few weeks ago. Arsene Wenger has stated that he is ONLY in the market for a (possible) striker, but that hasn’t stopped the News of the World revealing that Arsenal have made “tentative enquiries” to Real Madrid about the Dutch international.
Van Der Vaart is quoted as saying “If an opportunity emerges I would look at it because I need games.
“For the moment nobody has told me I am leaving. I am now back on the bench but I will again have a chance to show my quality.”
There is no doubt that Van Der Vaart is talented, but my opinion on the chances of Wenger buying him is; Not a hope!
Wenger – I have money, but i’m not buying Pavlyuchenko
Walcott – I’m backing Arshavin to score four again!
Carlos Vela is latest star to sign new contract
Ancelotti – Arsenal are weaker without Hleb and Flamini
Reading fail in bid for Jack Wilshere on loan

We’d have to be incredibly stupid to go for van der vaert
Fantastic player, but another with an injury record like van persie or rosicky.
we should by klass huntelaar he’s way better vaart and raheem is class if we can get him a sale jay that’s we be a good look and can any one tell me what happen to barezeti he has’ent even played in cup games
in a p/exchange for cesc maybe?
i think van der vaart is a very gud player if he buy him i am sure he will be a very gud addition to the squde, but guys we surly need a defender if we have to have any chance of winning any tropy this season think if we can play verma to left side likes of robert huth or bywater(middlesborow) to center half we will have a strong defenes if we can defended very gud we all know we can score. all am saying is we need a strong defender
van der vaert can play striker as well as midfield. He is a true finisher and a set pay apecialist – something we do no have now. Consider the tandum of him and RVP in the future… I like the idea and he is on the cheap.
