Arsenal transfer rumours March 7th – Loic Remy, Felipe Melo and Chamakh (of course!)
I know the transfer window is still a few months away, but there seems to be a few snippets of Arsenal transfer news around, so I thought it was worth a post.
Obviously you can’t discuss discuss transfer rumours without bringing up Marouane Chamakh, and it seems that it not such a done and dusted deal as everyone thought it was. The latest news is still that talks are going well, but there is nothing signed yet. Perhaps Chamakh is using the extra £10,000 offered by Liverpool as a little leverage to up Arsenal’s offer?
It also seems that Wenger is looking at another French forward in Loic Remy (just in case Chamakh changes his mind perhaps?) According to his agent, Frederic Guerra: “Arsenal are interested in Remy for next season,”
Not so long ago the top Arsenal agent in France, Gilles Grimandi, also indicated that Remy was on Wengers radar, when he said: “We know the potential of Remy. He has one of the greatest potentials in France and perhaps even in Europe over the next five years,”
“He has a physical standard that is outside the usual.”
It sounds like he would be a great buy, but would Arsenal have room for two more strikers next season? Could Wenger be thinking of offloading a couple of the present company?
All Arsenal fans were very keen on getting Felipe Melo in during the summer, and I imagine we still need a big hard-tackling midfielder, so it was no surprise when Wenger said he was still keen on him.
But the new rumours say that that Juventus would want one of our stars in exchange, with Van Persie being mooted as going the other way, and the player himself has already gazumped the idea.
He was asked by TuttoSport if he would be happy if Wenger came in with a bid, and he replied: “No, thanks,”
“It’s a pleasure to be appreciated by a great coach, but I have only eyes for Juve. I’m just focused on doing well with Juve for the time being.”
So that doesn’t look very promising, but I would think that Wenger would prefer to promote from within rather than paying good money for Melo, no matter how much he likes him!

Everyone is on Arsenal’s radar until it comes to signing them.I dont believe Wenger will sign anyone.For the last four seasons we need at least a Striker,goalkeeper and central midfielder to turn us into world-beaters but he hasnt signed whats needed.
Chamakh should sign already. Any opinions on Eduardo being sold? Denilson is going to be the new melo. Defense needs more. Subotic and Kyle Bartley should come in next season to replace Silvestre and Campbell. What yall think?
We need another CB for the leaving silvestre, gallas and campbell.
We need another DM for covering Song (denilson is gone!!)
We need another GK to replace Almunia.
We need another striker like chamakh.
We can sell away, senderos, gallas, campbell, silvestre, almunia, eduardo.

Melo is not showing any sign in joining Arsenal next season.
Looking on the other hard-tackling midfield maybe will do something good.
We won’t know, AW always get unknown players and turn them to world class stars.
Chamakh, a good signing as a free agent.
But if he is not coming, I prefer Remy or Gignac to join us.
Eduardo or even Bendtner may be offloaded if the right player joins us.
Vela might as well get to play more.
A keeper is no doubt a much demand one.
Lloris, Akinfeev are more likely to be sign.
But Ferguson might as well targetting them too.
As I mentioned before, we won’t know.
AW might get a keeper from no where, haha…
Senderos, Gallas and Campbell can all still play for at least 1season.
Signing on Centre-Back is not so urgent.
Maybe putting Nordtveit or Bartley to the senior squad as a backup for Vermaelen and Djourou will be good enough.
I hope that Campbell can stay on as a coach player after next season.
Still,I back on Wenger to make the right decision for the team.
wenger cannot sell gallas, sol, sylv nor senderos cz they are all free in the summer!!! and plz stop all these rumors cz it’s still too early, we need to focus on the current team now and it’s push towards the epl title …

Is nobody aware that a bid was made in January for David Villa? There’s no mention of him here.
Shayne … “in the last four seasons” … ??? er … Eduardo, Arshavin, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Ramsey, Nasri …. Plus renewing contracts of Van Persie, etc. Wenger has always got new goalkeepers on trial and Fabianski will turn out good.

teengunner – eduardo is one of our strongest players – there’s no way he should be sold. just before his most recent injury we scored lots of goals coming from differentr players. but all set up by eduardo. as soon as dudu dropped out the team we stopped scoring for a run of games. ok he’s still not back to his predatory best, but he will get there. in the meantime he is the best player we have at unpicking defences once we get the ball in and around the opposition box. eduardo = class.
I am i the only one who thinks the players that need replaceing at arsenal are……walcot too thick too small and can only run fast with out getting anywhere.

There are only 3 players in my opinion who NEED to go…. Silvestre, Denilson and Bendtner…. A new keeper wouldn’t go a miss but who would you let go?….. Silvestre is nor even half the player he was at scumchester and is past it….. Denilson has been given a fair crack of the whip and is continuely the weak link in the side and as for Bendtner? Well…. I have tried and tried to understand what AW see’s in him but apart from the odd goal here and there I personally think the guy is pretty useless….. It says something when his best season to date was spent on loan at Birmingham in the championship…. He’s no where near EPL standards….. Sell him now while we can still get decent money for him as I am sure his valuation must be dropping by the game ( especially after yesterday against burnley….. What planet was ge on????? )

Ok, Donkey, completely disagree with you, i mean disagreeing is an understatement, you are totally off. Now to reality, It’s natural for Chamakh not to rush this, he definitely won’t resign with Bordeaux, this will only line up a lot of suitors, and if he were just to use his heart and not head, Arsene will offer cheap wages for an already cheap signing. I think Chamakh can do very very well for us, but i suspect some one will vacate a spot for him, now that Ramsey will be out for almost a year, i believe the strikers will now stay, he’ll just promote Eastmond or Emmanuel-Thomas or Watts. I don’t think Wenger will buy Remy, Gignac or anyone, unless he gets Villa for a steal. Lets not forget Sunu is starting to look for games. Now to the CB position. I wold love Campbell to stay a year, sadly, knowing Wenger, he will let him go. Gallas is demanding more than Wenger would like to concede, signs point to him leaving. Expect Nordtveit, Botelho, and Bartley to be promoted with Djourou coming back, if fit, Djourou will replace Gallas. If Satic accepts the wage, he is as good as in, but for some reason, i doubt we will complete that signing. Finally midfield, Song needs an understudy, plus he might move to CB if Gallas leaves and Djourou is slow in returning. I don’t WANT Melo, the guy didn’t want to come initially, and still doesn’t look interested in coming to us, he is overrated anyway. If we buy in the summer,expect not more than 2-3 additions, with more than that out.

Im really surprised from those who say and said that chamakh would be a good recruitment!!! For all those who has no idea about chamakh he played with Bordeaux 279 game and he only scored 68 goals!! He played this season 24 games and scored only 8 !!! So why buying him !? Why dont we buy players as Dzeco or David Villa !? Is becoz chamakh can come for free!? We have Bendtner and he’s as chamakh even better , David Villa is the only player who is suitable for our system , since we play our on the ground . Im really sad , mad and depressed to know that chamakh is coming to Arsenal !!!

(F. piquionee – Portmouth, Shane Long – Reading, John Carew – Aston Villa, Kevin Doyle – Wolves. Any of these Players can come into The squad and deputize for RVP in place of Bendtner and even steal a place in the starting eleven if motivated. And they come cheap enough for Mr. Bargain Store Wenger

Moving onto huntelaar look at the crucial chance he missed against united and his not even clinical himself in the premier league there are 4 clinical strikers they are eduardo, van persie, rooney and torres and im not even exaggerating this. Dont bother mentioning drogba how many chances did he have against barcelona last season. He lost them that semis not the referee.
Felipe Melo is world class i agree but then what do you do with alex song, denilson too, huh. Maybe if alex song hadn’t turned into this new crucial player then probably we should’ve gone for him, plus he said last season he didnt want to come so why go back to him.

Gignac or Remy is a good addition.
Chamakh… His scoring may not be convincing enough.
But his role in supporting attacks are not bad too.
Huntelaar is not so pacy. But finishing touch is not bad.
We will see what AW gonna do at the end of the season.
Eduardo need more time.
Bendtner, I don’t know.
We may say he lost his touch. And to regain it,he might have to train harder.
For a striker, he cannot bear to lose too many chances.
But what he did against Burnley is disappointing.
Maybe he will repay what he did with scoring a few against Porto.
With the season is still going on, I still hope that he can prove us wrong.
