Arsenal transfer rumours Nov 18th – Damiao, Podolski, Arshavin and Andy Polo
Arsenal are set to face Norwich City in the early lunchtime kick-off today, but the papers still have room for a few Arsenal rumours this morning, and none of them look really promising to me!
First of all we have some agent in Brazil suggesting that Arsene Wenger is interested in one of Tottenham’s targets for a change. Harry Redknapp was believed to have made a £14m bid for the Internacional star in the summer, but “an agent” is quoted as saying: “There is a good Tottenham offer, one from Arsenal and even some Spanish clubs are sounding out Internacional.”
Considering that Damiao now has a £40m buy-out clause I really can’t see Wenger getting involved at all…..
Another top player unlikely to come to the Emirates is Lukas Podolski, after his agent suggested that the German international is also wanted by Lazio, and the prolific hitman is prepared to move to Serie A if given a chance. As the proposed price is just £10m I guess that would give the 26 year-old a good chance of joining Chamakh and Park on the Arsenal bench….
Another bench-warmer, Andrei Arshavin, has suggested that he would like to move back to Zenit if he isn’t used more often by Wenger, but the Russian giants have said they are not in the market right now, and according to new reports in Italy, it is Fiorentina who are leading the race to sign the 29 year-old. Although he’s a bit of a moaner I can’t see Arshavin moving until next summer.
Perhaps he will play brilliantly at the Euros again and have some better offers come in after that……
The Chile international Andy Polo has also been linked with Arsenal for a while, but it seems that the Peruvian newspaper Deportivo is saying that the in-demand youngster has set his heart on moving to La Liga with Real Madrid. If he has choices then I guess he’d rather sit on the bench in Spain than join in the ever-widening list of reserve strikers at Arsenal……
So there are a few interesting names there, but right now I have the feeling that none of these are actually likely to happen, or could I be wrong?

We need to buy a really good striker to back RVP up and to give us a reliable goal scorer when RVP needs a break.
We also need to buy a RB and most importantly a world class midfielder. Even though our midfield is doing well, they will eventually need a break. Rotation is key.

i really agree with what you said…man..
yeah.. arsenal really need a players this season, we need a player like PODOSKI to lead the front line even in VANPERSIE’S departure…
and we need a midfield that create fast in that midfield…player GRANERO…of real-madrid….and so other players like GOTZE of dortmung even goal–keepers in ALMUNIA departure….
arsenal really need players ….although we have quality plzayers…like DIABY…injured, and WITSHERE also injured as well…bringing inplayers ‘ll requires just a little players we can’t just spends money on a players like that…..

yeah and chamakh jst leav in january..almunia,squid,denilson,bendtner and chamakh shud jst leav..wengie r wenger why keep on holdin on this player..u knw it jst a waste keeping a wasteful potatoes n pay for them when they cnt produce anythng..bought the trio n they r useful the team..no podolski wont keep on the bench..he wil play dear admin..rvp wont keep playin evry matches..podolski cn even play in the left f either walcot r gervinho need a rest..better we hv em over chamakh..why wud he b unlikely?????

It’s like i said before, let d yong lads in d Academy understudy d senior lads as they r producing gud fruits. Players lik ozyakup, henderson, watt, aneke, frimpong, couquelin, afobe, shea, miquel, boateng, gibbs, freeman, emmanuel-thomas have proven dat they can all turn out 2 b of international standard.
And mark my words, Ju Young Park, in d nt 2 distant future will b sought after like rvp.

sold almunia, squillaci, djouru, denilson and bentdner.. then use that money to get Titi Henry back to Emirates.. he still got killing (scoring) instinct!! and 1 more thing, he will be our pride and give our player some motivation especially on ‘WINNING MENTALITY’ as suggested by all of our past hero..henry also will give some lessons to our strikers especially youngsters such as joel campbell, watt, lansbury, the oxlade and etc..!!!!
p/s: how i’m very happy to see Titi trained with our squad..

Arsenal need players in every part. we need a striker to support RVP upfront cus Van pesie will not be available in every march. again we need a world class midfielder, players like granero, gotze to strengthen our midfield. again we need a top class right back and left back, players like vatogen, and many more to make arsenal stronger, we don’t need to spend much money just a few players will do. thank you.
