Arsenal transfer rumours Oct 13th 09 – Vieira, Sagna, Fabregas and Hoyte
It must be because of the international break that the papers are full of Arsenal rumours once again.
Wel, for starters, we can forget about Patrick Vieira coming back, as he has made it clear that he won’t be, well not this January anyway.
“I want to play more but I also want to respect my contract,” Vieira told Tuttosport. “Nothing will happen in January. But I will leave Inter in June and I have yet to decide whether to play in the Premier League or in the French league.”
So that should stop any more rumours about him until next summer, but surely if he ever came back to Arsenal it would be in a coaching role?
Apparently Juventus are seeking to solve their defensive problems with a bid for Bacary Sagna in January. It seems that this report also oringinated from TuttoSport, but they quickly say that Arsene Wenger would be looking for too much money for him, so are looking at other targets too! Ho-Hum!
Barcelona may keep exclaiming their love for Cesc Fabregas, but it seems that they are now looking to take Robinho from Man City instead. The Daily Mail reports that Barca have agreed to meet Robinho’s £160,000 a week wagw demands, and will pay Man City £33m for his services. Strangely, they also say that they considered making a bid for Andrey Arshavin as well. Wasn’t that the summer before last?
Gavin Hoyte has only just gone out on loan to Brighton for a month, but after just one game, it seems the Seagulls are already keen on extending the loan period.
“I think he made a really solid debut,” said Brighton manager Russell Slade. “He hasn’t played a lot of football in the last month. I think it’s only a game and a half.
“It’s two-and-a-half games now and by Tuesday night it’ll be three-and-a-half. I think the more he’s playing the better he will get.
“If he’s enjoying it and he’s enjoying the way we play, he’s enjoying his football and he’s in the side and he’s contributing. Then there’s every chance we’ll enquire about him staying a little bit longer.”
Hoyte doesn’t seem to mind where he is as long as he gets to play regularly.
“You only get around one game a month in the reserves so just I’m happy to be playing and getting games and hopefully we’ll see what happens when I’m back at Arsenal,” he said
“Who knows? They could not want me. I might not play so well or Arsenal could want me back. I’ve just got to keep playing at well as I can.”
