Arsenal transfer rumours Oct 20th – Podolski, Gotze, Van Persie, Abidal and Pogba
Despite Arsene Wenger saying the other day that Arsenal were unlikely to buy anyone in January every Sunday always brings a new batch of Arsenal rumours, and this week is no different.
First off all we have the Koln forward Lukas Podolski, who has been linked with the Gunners for a while. The Bundesliga side has told Arsenal he is not for sale, but it seems that as Koln are suffering from financial problems they may have no choice but to accept a bid over £25m if Wenger (or Tottenham apparently) makes a bid. Considering Podolski was first talked about at just £10m I think we can discount any further Arsenal interest….
Another German that Arsenal have been told to keep away from is Mario Gotze, but it seems this week he has been told to make his mind up on whether he will stay at Dortmund or force a move to Arsenal or Man Utd. He answered by scoring the winner for his club away at Bayern Munich this weekend, but does that mean he wants to stay in Germany? Van Persie does that every week for Arsenal but still won’t sign a new contract…..
Talking about the prolific Dutchman, it is being reported that AC Milan have decided to make a massive £35m bid for Van Persie to beat off any other suitors, but will they pay as much wags as Man City are likely to offer?
Eric Abidal is another one recently linked to the Gunners, and the Barca star’s agent revealed that his contract talks with the Spanish giants were not going well and he could leave on a free in the summer. But can we really see Wenger bringing in a 32 year-old, even if he is free?
The last rumour concerns the Man Utd youngster Paul Pogba, and although it has been reported that Arsenal are the favourites to sign him if he continues to snub a new contract at Old Trafford, it now seems that the German giants Hamburg have also registered an interest. Hamburg have recently started building a new young team and it is possible that Pogba could be attracted to that, but surely they won’t pay him as much as Arsenal….

Don’t you find it hard not to sell Van Persie for £35mill at the age of 28? amazing business.
BUT with no one behind him to fill his boots, you could see it costing that much with the lack of wins we would of had.
If you put your manager head on, its a very tricky one.
Personally i would keep him as its to risky to sell him yet, as long as he wants to stay that is, which i think he does.

Mr. Wenger shud av it in mind dat January signing is inevitable, moreso, a striker is needed to compliment d effort of RVP. In conclusion RVP shud be persuaded to sign a contract extension.

Yet again we do not have a pre or post match thread to discuss and instead have yet another one on transfer rumors.
Just a few words on yesterdays match.
Great displays from
Walcott (gave at least five goals on a plate)
RVP (outstanding yet again)
Koncielny (excellent display)
Vermaalen (rock solid as usual)
Gervinho (very dangerous, just needs to work on finishing)
Below par (to be polite)
Mertesacker (for a man of his size he is way too weak and really slow)
Santos (Someone needs to tell him he is a defender. I still believe we need a left back)
Arteta (lost count of the times he gave the ball away)
Song and Ramsey did not have good games but they are only human and have had great games during the recent come back.
In general Two things:
1. Our midfield needs to back track and close down more because the defense endures too much pressure because of it.
2. We need to learn how to finish off games. The score line does not reflect the match.

afc this season have been a little bit wiser than our naive young players we just sold..arteta has been fantastic in knowing where to give away cheap fouls and break up play..fab and nasri didnt know when to do that..were a little bit more direct instead of passin the ball to death with no end product..songs been brilliant..rvp player of the season so far..what was all the panic for?wenger arsenal legend..

i think wat arsenal need is another center half someone like cahill or samba coz cahill would be answer to our defence coz he is quite tall, he has gd leadership in the defence and if mertasacker or vermaelan injured then cahill can step in our defence but i don’t know why wenger can put 15million for him but wat i think is i think chelsea would get him coz terry cahill have gd partership in the defence and they are friends work together for england in national break so yh cahill would be man.
then also wenger needs central midfielder someone leadship in midfield like hey go do this go do that someone gd that can step up and support the defence like get yann’mvilla and also we need a word class striker coz chamakh gervinho are going to African cup of nations and rosicky is rubbish walcott not going to do anything arshavin lazy crap so yh we need podoliski

We need that extra striker.
A. RVP needs support up front.
B. If RVP were to leave, we would have no one to fill his should and keep us ticking over in the goal front. (Yesterday was evidence of that again. If RVP wasn’t in our team, we would have lost the match instead of winning it).
Gotzewould will be the next best buy for any team who gets him. I would rather it be us than Man U. Considering we lost Mata to Chelsea, it will be a shame to not get Gotze ….. But my gut tells me that AW will not buy any more midfielders this season. Seems we only buy when we need, not when we should to strengthen our team. Thems are the hard facts. Actually would be surprised if we buy anyone else this Jan window, and by then, all the currently promising purchase prospects will no longer be available – either because someone else will have bought them, or due to market speculation, their price will be to high for us. (and we all know our wallet doesn’t carry much cash for players).
So we can keep dreaming, but I doubt we’ll see any new faces in our team, apart from younger players coming through our ranks.

We dont need strikes if v.persie gets injuriedpark will get a chance otherwise we wont see much of their experience park i think can score some great goals like he does for his country so wait & see untill he gets few games that guys can score some goals that reminds me of great berkamp

Why get all flustered and bothered? if rumours were true Arsenal would have 347 players.
Wenger will not sell Van Persie if they made Arsena English and gave him a knighthood.
I believe in Arsene. In January we will get a striker, maybe Zod for planet X, or some gem in the French league. Maybe Podolski, but that would make you guys have a happy seizure and wet yourselves.
Podolksi is my choice also, then but I am betting a fiver on the St Etiennes striker.

i would say loan chamakh. and if v could drop gervhinio and if v could bring in gotze and podolskey … would be perfect for arsenal. a attacking midfielder. i think arsenal have enough yound talents. need few finishers. so gotze and pudolski might give the boost.

i think GOTZE and PODOSKI ‘ll be the best sign ever….
remember how we ruled out MATA’S contract… please wenger all we need now is good attacking midfield and goal scoring…
VANPERSIE…isn’t everything…yeah… because of any injury…. i pray he shouldn’t got any injury this season…
but you never can tell…. football isn’t predictable…

but the fact is that we need to buy this players ….if really we want to win any trophies this season at all….
and this players are:
GOTZE(attacking midfield)
PODOSKI(striker)
ALBOAL of real-madrid….(right back defender)
and remember that gervinho ‘ll be at africa’s nations -cup ….and arsharvin is too (lazy…slow…infact he lack pace in arsenal team…he’s not what he is before..)
so all we do is buy someone that can replace gervinho….but that isn’t easy that way….but if you could just buy….(REUS)..
REUS…( is a very good and talented player i have never seen, among players….in fact he’s special…indeed he can replace him if he goes to the nations cup….but i doubt if wenger buys him…actually i so much trust in wenger right from the time i joined arsenal…..he’ been so good to the team….in fact isn’t easy to make a young player to a star…just take a look at VANPERSIE …FABRIGAS…NASRI….WISHERE…SONG…RAMSEY…GIBBS….SCSNEY…and more , that i can’t even mention…..that’s good WELL DONE…wenger…
i think buying GOTZE would have be a very good singing in this season instead allowing him going to MAN-U, i mean that’s unfair….wenger just get this guy….with him and WISHERE and SONG, i think our midfield ‘ll be promising next season….despite the fact that ARTETA is in form right now …giving the team a football beauty…in fact that’s what call MATURED…in that team…with this squad i think arseal ‘ll conquer any team from now till the end of the season….we are not even talking about next season ….is gonna be FIRE….

watching Hazard playing for Lille today and what a talent…def worth the money whatever it is. Sign him to a contract and RVP and Walcott will be excited to play along side him…
