Arsenal transfer rumours Oct 22nd 2009 – Cana and Zvrko (Who?)

Cana NOT likely to move!
There are still two months to go until the next transfer window, but our favourite rumour-mongers The Daily Mail have found a couple of humdingers to keep us amused.
Lorik Cana was strongly linked to Arsenal in the summer, and i remember writing an article wondering why Wenger let him slip through his fingers. The strong, tough-tackling midfielder moved to Sunderland for just £5m and his strength and character has persuaded Steve Bruce to make him club captain already.
So despite him only being a couple of months into his FOUR-YEAR contract, the Mail seems to think that Arsenal are going to try and persuade Steve Bruce to let him go!
There is more chance of Arsenal signing Frank Lampard than Lorik coming to Arsenal at Christmas!
I sometimes think that the football journalists (!) at the Mail have a competition every week to see who can get the most ridiculous rumour published. Well this one should win this weeks competition quite easily!
The second rumour today is a slight possibility as it involves a 14 year-old “wonderkid” Nikola Zvrko from Montenegro. There is the slight problem of getting this one past Michel Platini, who is trying to ban the movement of Under 18’s between European clubs, but maybe they can get him over to England before they make the ban part of the UEFA rulebook.
Barcelona and Chelsea are also said to be interested in signing him.
I thought that Chelsea’s transfer ban would stop the papers from creating new rumours about them, but why let the rules get in the way of a good story!
Nasri’s back – and he is feeling good!
