Arsenal transfer rumours – West Brom swoop for Vela
Carlos Vela is a player who divides opinion. He has undoubted quality but just doesn’t seem to take his chances when he is in the first team.
His party-boy lifestyle probably has something to do with it, he is a young lad who wants to have fun but at the moment it looks like it is affecting his development as a player. Carlos has sunk from boy-wonder with a début hat-trick to a squad player who nobody has any faith in when he comes on from the bench. That is when he is even in the match-day squad…
Vela has offers from Bolton and Valencia but West Brom are looking to hijack any potential deal to take the forward on loan for the rest of the season. The Baggies are in need of rejuvination after a lean patch in the league and Carlos is looking for a second wind after a classy start to the season tailed off and has been frozen out even since.
It would be a good destination for him, however it will be his choice at the end of the day and even the manager admitted he prefers Spain.
Arsenal has had a bid rejected for Alex Chamberlain, reports the Daily Mail. The youngster is hotly tipped to join Arsenal after announcing it as his preferred destination via Facebook. Chamberlain is a quick midfielder who has an eye for goal and at 17, will only get better with age.
Any transfer seems likely to cost 10 million, plus. So much for a center back.

Wow, Giovanni is the party boy, and he shines whenever given a chance. So before you write an article get your facts.

West Brom would be a great destination for Vela. They play a nice attacking style of football, and they’re in the EPL.
I am glad you mentioned Vela’s party boy lifestyle. I really think the hooker incident with the Mexican national team has played a part in his demise this season. He was suspended from the national team, and though Wenger never really mentioned it, I believe he was also punished by Arsenal. He suddenly disappeared after the national team suspension happened. So yeah, he needs to get his life together and focus on football. I like him, he’s quality, we all know that without doubt, let’s hope he fulfills his potential.

I do not agree with you about the so-called “party boy” life. A party boy is someone who parties more than the average in his group. People have not been seeing Carlos in parties around London. How can you term him party boy because of one incident that was actually attended by the whole team & a penalty even his colleagues say is unfair because they all did the same thing? He will bounce back. I belive he has confidence problems & he will soon overcome them. Is Arshavin also a party man? He has had a bad patch!

I really like Vela and his definition. I would really like to see him have more playing time. I really think he has great potential, that I dont think he even realizes. All I really think he needs is a bit of mentorship from one of the older players so he can get his stuff together. Wenger obviously believes he has the talent or else he would not be so insistant on not letting him go, other then on a loan. I really home he shows us all what he can really do, with a bit more action on the field.

yea ive said it before…it seems like Vela was punished by Wenger for that incident…he also looks out of shape to me, he needs to get back to being the second fastest player on the team

Yes, Wenger should send them on loan. Vela, is a great player with huge natural technique since he was a Mexican. But he needs to find the essential things of professional football. He needs to see what it takes to meet the standards, the Arsenal standards. If he is going to mediocre club, the advantages he will take is that he will be mentally stronger, and he will learn how to adapts himself with challenges. Loan should be able to motivate him to reach his goals in his career. He will realize that he is no longer a kid with a lot of money to spend in the bar or clubs. He is now someone who is paid to give something to the football club.
