After what has been a very difficult month of both games and disappointing transfers (although I’m very happy with the signing of Monreal), we’ve finally got a few easy fixtures coming up that should close the gap between us and Tottenham at 4th.
We have a tough game today against Stoke City. We’ve struggled against Stoke at the Britannia but have a brilliant record against them at home.
Stoke will set up to defend for their lives and there’s no doubt that Tony Pulis will make a legitimate tactic out of kicking the **** out of Jack Wilshere. But Jack is made of sterner stuff and hopefully he’ll be able to ride those challenges. There will be very little space behind the defence and they’ll set themselves up to hit us on the counter with Walters up there ready for the ball to be hoofed to him.
Line-up:
Szczesny
Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Jenkinson
Arteta – Wilshere
Walcott – Cazorla – Podolski
Giroud
This line up has a few surprises but I’ll explain myself.
Firstly, Vermaelen is out for the game and hence Koscielny naturally assumes the position of LCB. However, I’m slightly worried that Squillaci will be on the bench for tomorrow.
Now, I personally think Wenger will start Jenkinson (or maybe switch with Sagna) as he doesn’t want to introduce Monreal into the most physical game he’ll have at the Emirates. He will need one game to sort himself out and hopefully we’ll be winning by a comfortable margin so he can get a run-out in the last 20 mintues.
Arteta is back in the squad and I feel he may start as he’s our deputy captain. Wilshere might get the armband though if Wenger isn’t 100% sure with Arteta.
This is definitely going to be a tough game but I’m quietly confident of a 3-1 win.

There are no easy fixtures in the BPL
Anyone is capable of beating anyone and it has shown over the last decade.
I believe 4th is very possible But we have to beat Spurs!!!

We should start the game with cannons blasting.No more nervy showings and waiting for second half.statistics & records do not mean anything as you recall we did loose to german opposition at emirates last year and ended the good record we had.
The boys should play their hearts out for a win atleast to welcome Nacho in apositive way.This could give us a good run of games that could see us advancing in FA cup and closing on the top 4.

Should be a good game, expecting a win for us. Giroud has been brilliant lately so I can see him getting on the score sheet.
Would love to see Monreal play today but as you said, but I would much rather him over Santos, who has shown he is not strong enough to play at this level.

Moreal will most likely start today. He’s been playing at Malaga and he’s obviously match fit. Also he’s a strong defender so he wont have any problems with defending balls in the air.
I see no reason not to start him at the Emirates if we were away from home maybe but were going to dominate large parts of this game so i think he should be introduced straight away.

The midfield of Cazorla, Arteta and Wilshere doesn’t work, and we’ve already seen that. Diaby has had a bit of rest and should start. I expect Wenger to play:

Tactiks to beat stoke ,first 20mins attack and shoot 4rm ranch and after from there we start our 1-2 passes in their box ,a penalt can come out ,and always do our team marking as we did to liverpool !give no space for our opponents,when leading 3-0 create as much ball position to make the opponents frustrated and get cautions switch position upfront .WE CAN BEAT THen 4 – 1 .

I would probably play Jenks over Sagna, one due to Sagna’s form and two, because the added height could help us.
Anyway, the team I think Wenger will pick should be good enough.
After I predicted Arsenal 2 Liverpool 2 and Giroud/Theo to score, I should at least try again!

@LmFaO You’ve probably been watching RVP’s games thinking he’s still an Arsenal player. Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla doesn’t work, period. They are technical players but there’s no physicality and height in the midfield. Throwing Diaby into the mix gives us a more balanced centre. If we play Diaby, one of Cazorla or Podolski will have to be benched unless if we take Cazorla to the RW.
