Arsenal vs West Ham preview, predicted line up and score line prediction by Kj
This has become a must win game for the Gunners. It’s been a terrible January in the Premier league with Arsenal already losing 2 games and drawing with relegation strugglers Southampton. Tottenham are now 7 points ahead of us. We must win this game against the Hammers to turn the tables around as our next league game is hardly easy (an inform Liverpool).
This game is going to be a lot more difficult than it should’ve been thanks to the injuries of Diaby, Coquelin and Arteta. Wenger neglected buying a defensive midfielder even though we’ve been calling for one for years now… It may have finally caught up with him. It would be extremely ironic if it was Diame of all people who’d inspire West Ham to a win today.
Jenkinson – Mertesacker – Vermaelen – Gibbs
Ramsey – Wilshere
Walcott – Cazorla – Podolski
This is a very risky line up for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, Jenkinson will play his first Premier league game since Swansea at the Emirates at the beginning of December. No doubt he’ll be rusty but Wenger must be ballsy and use the Englishman in place of Sagna who’s been in dreadful form.
This is the very risky part. We could be stuck with Ramsey and Wilshere as our central midfield. I love both of them and they are brilliant players in their own rights but they simply aren’t cut out for being defensive midfielders. They are far too attacking and don’t really have the upper body strength or the positioning to play a deep role as well as say Arteta or Diaby. There has been suggestions of playing Frimpong but in my opinion, he is far off from being good enough for us and he’ll be more of a hindrance on the pitch rather than a help.
This is going to be a very difficult match considering how bare our central midfield is at the moment. However, I feel the boys will step up knowing how important a win would be. Arsenal to win 3-1.
