Arsenal want German midfielder to replace Fabregas?

Ozil to replace Fabregas?
Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel! The Daily Star today has decided to revive the weekly rumour that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is worried that Cesc Fabregas will be going to Barcelona next summer, and is already lining up his replacement!
The Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil (his parents are Turkish), is currently at Werder Bremen, and with just 18 months left on his contract is in negotiations with the German giants. But the Star says that he reluctant to sign and could force a sale by next summer, with Wenger on top of his list of admirers, along with Liverpool and Man Utd.
Ozil is only 21 but has broken into the German national team this year and has played in the last five fixtures for them. They say that Wenger sees the talented playmaker as a perfect replacement for Cesc if he moves on next summer.
They also say that Wenger would prefer to sign him in January, because if he plays well in next summer’s World Cup in South Africa, his price will “rocket”.
Correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t Fran Merida supposed to be the “perfect” replacement for Fabregas? And shouldn’t Wenger be working on persuading Merida to sign a new contract rather than looking outside the academy?
Wenger – Arsenal should be in front of Chelsea already!?
Vieira – I’m the best in France but i’m still not picked!
Wenger – Every point is vital now
Wenger slams Atletico for “destabilising” Merida!

It’s good that Wenger is looking for Cesc’s replacement. Because if Arsenal don’t win anything this year, Fabregas and Van Persie will DEFINITELY be gone.

willy g u r a fucking idiot! maybe fabregas would leave IF we didnt win anything(unlikely) but van persie wouldnt, if u knew the anything about arsenal football club then u would know that van persie is probably the most loyal player in the whole squad. he wouldnt leave arsenal because he loves his club. on a happier note, this ozil kid is extremely good and would make a great addition to the squad even if fabregas didnt leave

I say keep this kid in Germany, we have fabulous fabregas, arshavin, rosicky, merida, ramsey, wilshere…
Why would fabregas want to leave the greatest football club in the world? It is like an oxford student swapping universities for thames valley uni!
It ain’t gonna happen. Arsenal WILL win the 2009/10 premier league.
And I am not an optimist! More like a realist!
If you want fabregas to stay, then chant his name everytime he steps onto that football field

Why would Cesc wnt to go to Barcelona as he will be competing against Iniesta and Xavi ,two brilliant midfielders ,plus the mercurial Messi .At Arsenal he,s the main man with no contenders for his position ,plus he,s club captain ,so why and if so how much will he go for ,nothing short of 50 million pounds/euros is my guess?
