Arsenal’s Abou Diaby to be out for at least another two months
Many Arsenal fans may have already given up on ever seeing Abou Diaby in an Arsenal shirt again after his continuing series of ankle problems, which started just after he arrived at the Gunners in 2006.
He was apparently close to a comeback last month but Arsene Wenger announced that he had he had had yet another minor setback and he refused to name a return date for the French international midfielder.
Now it has been revealed today that Arsenal have sent Diaby to Qatar where he has been rehabilitating for the last two weeks, and then he is off to Miami to be under the control of a fitness trainer to slowly help him regain the strength in the damaged ankle.
The Mirror reports that he has set a return to the Arsenal squad for the middle of March, but considering that he is yet to start a game this season this news will be taken with a pinch of salt by Arsenal fans everywhere.
Wenger had very high hopes of Diaby when he arrived all those years ago, but ever since he was the subject of a horror tackle from Sunderland’s Dan Smith in 2006 he has never had long enough back in the Arsenal first team to make a real impact.

mick mcCarty must be laughing right now he has frimpong.
sending out players on loan is a new arsene’s obsession. since squillaci and djourou are quality and cannot be sent on loan i guess they will fill the gap now arteta is out and diaby is always out.
next is miyaichi and no new signings, arsenal fc is becoming a joke.
this is serious case of mismanagemnt

he wants 12 millions for arshavin he even wants fee for squillaci and almunia. people are not stupid

To all you ‘in Arsene we trust’ acolytes … I hope u are pleased with yet another embarassing result borne out of Wenger’s ineptitude in the transfer market and policy.
It doesn’t take a scientist or £200mill to fix this mess, just proper players who can shoot on target and surprisingly defenders who can defend.
Like I said yesterday…. Make sure tv’s are re-tuned to recieve channel 5 next season….

Don’t think that this loss has changed arsene wenger viewpoint on his trasfer policy i, i really think its time to let him go his not doin us any good we need a manager that is wiling to spend money for highly rated play.
This was a fair result not matter what wenger said swansea played much better than us, we didnt create as much chances as swansea we defended crap arsenal match today reminded me of how nigeria my national team play. Spurs will finsh above us if we continue to play this kind of football, i still think we could finsh above them if we change our approach play.
One more thing arsenal need to start signing plays if they are to progress in the league

Diaby who????
Some questions should be asked to Wenger…
We have a medical staff totally outdated and not qualify…
We have lost to Swansea ( another loss )… For something to happen we need to fail the CL spot. Enough is enough… We are not average anymore, but just totally rubbish….
We need someone who will focus on the team, on coaching the team and not worry about scrapping the January transfer market, someone who will not be in France working for TF1 when work needs to be done here, someone who will not get involve in debates with TV power structure, etc… Basically, we need a COACH…!!!
Tottenham is 10 points above us… CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? That’s a total disgrace and it hurts more than anything else right now.
Another rubbish season, Wenger and the board are quite happy because the numbers are still clicking.
The problem is that Arsenal fans are too passive and nothing is happening there… We can change the done and affect the numbers, but it will never happen because the Arsenal fans are not proactive to influence things.
Anyway, we can easily predict our seasons and outcomes now and we are just “shyt”… I mean we SUCK IMMENSELY… Same system of play despite not having any full backs ( that’s just daft ), Arshavin still a first team player despite several episode of disgrace.
We did not even know that Arteta was out !!!!
Ramsey has his days numbered, because as soon as Wilshere is fit , he will warm up the bench, rightly so.
I just don’t see Van Persie staying next season… IMPOSIBLE !!!
WE HAVE NOW A TOTAL LACK OF AMBITION.

we used to be so strong in midfield but now we are getting totally overun and song needs to sort it out coz he knows he is so much better than that. i really dont no what else to say, wenger and the board have sold all are best players and are sitting on a fortune how much longer can fans like me keep defending that? if vp walks away who do we blame? would wenger really let him go just to satisfy his principles?

What a major blow for Diaby. This guy has been so unlucky! I hope he recuperates because he is a great player when fit. You can only imagine what this will do to his psychological health as well. He must have doubts about his ankle as many fans may too. I’m just as frustrated as any other fan, but I believe Diaby would feel what we do 10 fold. Lets hope he convalesces rapidly and regains his confidence and game. Rosicky has only recently started to look his old self again after a run of injuries. RVP went through a long spell of injuries too, lets give Diaby the support and belief that he needs.

We don’t even play attractive football anymore, we don’t attract good players anymore, even the youth system is not working. If we look back at all our best young players they played alongside stars. Cesc, RVP, Song, Sanga, Even Jack got a chance to learn from stars. How can Chambo and Ryo learn from anyone if they better than the person who they learning from? The great Arsenal is dying and its time we the Fans and Supporters stood up to this and made our feelings heard.

Im as gutted as any of the people commenting above and today was as poor a performance as any Ive seen from Arsenal recently. Credit to Swansea, they played very well, but we were unbelievably sloppy! The number of times we gave the ball away was ridiculous. This game was very reminiscent of the Blackburn game. Take the lead, give it away, then go down, then an out of form player finishes well to give us a sniff but then we throw it away with some lax defending.
We must not forget the good work done so far in the season but we must be very careful not to let it go to waste and slip up again. We have already begun the slipping up process.
However, Arsenal fans need to be warned! This nonsense from some select fans about giving the ‘Steve Kean’ treatment is very dangerous. It will achieve nothing. Even if they are right and Wenger should go, he still will not go because, in accordance with your own words, he reels in the profits for Kroenke.
Also, Arsenal fans want Wenger not to make excuses and so not mention the penalty incident…OF COURSE HES GOING TO MENTION THE PENALTY INCIDENT, it wasnt a penalty so Swansea should never have equalised. They say these things balance up in the season but I ask anyone, have you, at any point this season, seen a decision go Arsenal’s way and think ‘ooh, really shouldn’t have been given’?

A lot of Arsene hate kicking around again.
Do remember that we just went from 15th to 4th in the space of 8 weeks, so we cant be that terrible, we’ve just had 2 bad games on the bounce.. Not unlike Man-U just did.
It is impossible to legislate for 6-8 defenders being unfit or injured at the same time, we have just been very unlucky.
Although we obviously need to ship some players out and bring others in, we are not in some sort of free-fall just yet.
The way some of the more fickle fans are going on, on here you’d think we were in a relegation scrap. Get a grip!
Arsenal need to spend some money, yes, but non of you were complaining like this 3 or 4 weeks ago when we were sailing high and RVP was on target to get the EPL goals in a year record.
Arsenal only need 1 or 2 players and a few people back from injury and we’ll be ok for the season. Then hopefully we can kick on from there and buy more (whilst shipping out some dead wood).
Give it a few weeks when Wilshire et al. are back and it’ll be really interesting to see how many people are banging on about organising protest marches and ‘Wenger out’ rallies..

I remember a while back I had someone tell me quite strongly that I had my head up my arse because I thought Ramsey was not good enough and that he was our saviour in Jacks’ absence. Well I rest my case, especially after today. Our midfield just is not strong and creative enough. Swan’s goals stemmed from disposition in the midfield, something which has been a re-occuring for a while now. Then we have clowns like Djoure who are completely out of position to deal with them. There was an incident where the ball got played to their left winger from the center of the pitch and Djoure was still in CB area from the corner. He really needs to go. Mertesacker too is about as useful as a sack of potatoes.
I cried when he missed open goals. For a player with German caps, you should not miss kick like that.
Kossie, Miquel, Rosicky, RvP, Walcott, Henry, and AOC had a good game. Arshavin played ok. The rest were hopeless. Need better players to be in top four and we will be lucky to do so with this team we have at the moment. We miss Jack terribly.

Utter rubbish today! Such a disappointing display from our young guns. Ramsey and Theo were crap. Other than the pass to RVP for his goal AA was garbage. The passing today was terrible. We were hurried off the ball at every turn and our constant attempts at sting over the middle with these long passes never works.
Get ready to see RVP leave if this is the support he’s surrounded with next year. Wenger saying he wishes the Jan transfer window didn’t exist and that he’s not gonna buy anyone. Has Arsene list the plot?
Now the article is about Diaby…. Let him go. His injuries are far too common and long drawn out. He’s occupying a spot right now the same way AA is. Both need to be sold off and better players who can stay fit and give 100% every game.

@MattH You comment irritates me because it was Wenger’s mistake in the first place that caused us to have such a poor start. People are always praising him for how we have done so well to come back. If Wenger had made decent signings when he was supposed to, and not sub par panic buys like Arteta, Mertesacker, Benayoun etc, we would most likely be fighting for the title, not battling for 4th place. Wenger’s managerial mistakes and lack of ambition for this club are costing us. Now we have a whole bunch of deadwood, half of them are injured and the other half, other clubs would be nuts to bid for them. No world class players want to come play for us anymore. Wenger has to keep hoping in budget buys that ‘maybe’ they will shine.
I’m talking about players we know will make a difference.
People then say, well look at Torres. 50m and 1 goal. well if people had half a brain they would know Torres is completely out of form and that a club should not make the player, the player should make the player, especially after he has proven himself in the past.
I really think if we had two better midfielders, Arsenal would be smiling.

To begin we need to give credit where it is due and Swansea showed us how to play football a bit like how we were playing 7-8 seasons ago.
When they did not have possession they were running and closing down with 100% commitment and when they had possession their players were making runs off the ball continuously and opening us up like a can of baked beans.
Our lot just walk around the pitch and never show any intent in their game, so it is the players fault but also AW’s.
A good manager spots gaps and mistakes and fixes them so if we have a manager who is as great as everyone says he is then we can’t have the same attitude from the players and the same problems in game play every week.
Now I am as gutted as all of you but I seriously think that the only way that things will improve is if the shareholders pockets are harmed and the only way that will happen is if we don’t qualify for the CL.
The ambition of the manager and board is to finish in the top four where as the fans want trophies and whether we like it or not they don’t care what we want they only care about the cash.
We need to just realise that once again we will win nothing and that if we ever do want to see an Arsenal captain pick up a trophy it will only happen when the likes of Gazidis, Kroenke and AW are gone.

Well said Big Gun it is all down to Mr Wenger he went for Cheap options at the start of the season and hoped for the best. You can not sell Top Class players and replace them with mediocre players it does not work. Mr Wenger is knowing
as The Professor, we should change that to the
NUTTY PROFESSOR because a lot of his decision’s are MAD.
But I don’t think this defeat will change his way of thinking. He does not care what the FAN’S think his job is safe as long as the shareholders get their dividends.

@BigGun
Your comment irritates me because it insinuates that you have any idea about the inner workings of Arsenals management and hierarchy.
Seeing as at the begging of the season it was made clear that Wenger did want to spend money on new players (M’vila, Gotze, Hazard, Samba etc.)and did want to keep Nasri, but the board would not sanction him the funds for the transfers or to give Nasri a pay rise to bring him or several of our other players in line with what they would earn at other clubs.
Think about it, what would Wenger personally gain from not spending? It isn’t his money and him not winning trophies doesn’t do his managerial record look good.
Wenger is doing a decent job. Yes we do need players to leave and at least 2 new ones brought in. But what we do not need is for pathetic knee-jerk reactions from fans after every single defeat.
Everyone’s behind the club when we’re winning, but two defeats on the bounce and look at yourselves. It’s disgraceful.
A small part of me would like Wenger to walk out, so we could see just how much worse life would be with another manager at the helm.
Don’t s**t on your own doorstep and then complain about the smell.

@MattH You are about as clueless as a donkey. Wenger makes us think that he wants to spend big, he keeps saying how he is going to buy quality, but when last did we actually see an experienced quality signing? It’s all talk and you are a fool to think Wenger is being honest. Hell he lied about Fabregas and Nasri, saying that any club who would sell them, especially at the same time would have no ambition. Surely if the board are withholding funds from Wenger, he should be slightly irritated with them? It is reflecting bad on him is it not? But the man keeps doing his job and I’ll tell you why. The board are making profits and at the same time are looking after Wenger. If Wenger had any integrity and honesty as a manager, he would of packs his bags long ago, stating the board are not giving him adequate resources to do his job. But he hasn’t hasn’t he? Wake up and smell the coffee.

The answer is at the club already…..Frimpong, Coquelin, Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Campbell, Afobe!!! These guys would do a better job than Diaby, Rosicky, Arshavin, Bendtner, Vela!!!

What a bunch of spineless Arsenal fans. At Arsenal we have one of France greatest talent.
In Diaby, we have someone 100 times better than Basri or Fabregas. The guy breezes past players like they didn’t exist. His grace and artistry with the ball is second to none. Defensively needs work but that will cone with a run of games. Our man gets his foot broken and the spineless amongst us just rejects him without giving him a chance. These same idiots were telling us to sell RVP, 3 years ago. Man Up Arsenal fans, the only thing dragging the team down is your cowardness. Man up and support the team. Transfer window us closed so forget transfers. Focus on supporting the current squad. You quietest of quiet fans in the premiership. Man up and stop bullying the players.

@BigGun we need more fans like you. Fans should first and foremost fulfil their duties as fans. Undying support for the players you do have. Transfer window is closed so stop transfer talk. Concentrate in creating an Emirates stadium fortress.

Arsenal is full of fans whose dads support spurs. They became gooners to spite daddy. Hence trophy is their only vision. Well as real fans believe in building a model that can sustain us for the next hundred years. Daily wins are the main goal. Trophies a good bonus. We will not sell our soul for a trophy. Who would buy a ferari when their mortagage is in arrears. You arsenal hatred can go back to spurs. We like Wenger and his vision. None of you can give me a replacement for Wenger. Oh wait a minut, Sven is available and so is Warnick. You silly protest idiots. Imbeciles, how do you expect to move into a new stadium, pay interest and borrow more for players. Secret spurs fans hoping to bankrupt our Arsenal. In Wenger we trust.
