Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain hoping for chances over festive fixture pile-up
The young Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is hoping that Arsene Wenger will be resting some players over the usual pile-up of games over the festive period, and would love a Christmas present from Wenger of a starting place with the Gunners.
“I can’t say when I will play, I don’t know, that’s for the boss to say really,” he said yesterday. “I’m just available if ever needed.
“There are a lot of games and maybe it is a time where players are going to be rested. It’s a lot of work for the body physically so if I am required then I’m ready. I’m looking forward to getting an opportunity and I will try and take my chance.
“Everyone that comes into the team knows what’s expected of them. At the end of the day we all train together at the same tempo and the same intensity so I think whoever steps into the team knows what’s expected of them from the fans, from the boss and from each other.
“You’re playing for Arsenal, you have to be on top of your game at all times if possible.”
You’re right Alex and all the fans are looking forward to seeing you play too. I was just wondering if you could do me a favour and tell that to Arshavin and Chamakh when you get the chance!

Yes wenger do need to rest some players…but it will be a major risk as we may drop some points..as u can see in previous seasons..hope every player remains fit till the end!!

I was amazed 2 discover that alex was not on d bench against man shitty.considering d troubles he caused zabaleta at emirates during d league cup,i expected d manager 2 introduce alex in d second part of sunday game.i believed he wuld hav unlocked d shitty defence and made d difference.

The difference between man city and arsenal is that they have three out and out goal scorers, ballotelli, dzeko and agiero. Arsenal just have one, van persie. Imagine if we had three or even two, we would probably in second place by now.

the ox is ready to take walcotts place and theo is ready for a shot upfront, this has to be what wenger has in mind or theo will surely leave come the summer.
we can all fight till were blue in the face about wether theo will work as a striker but the truth is he is misserable outwide and sees himself as an out and out striker regardless of wether wenger and the fans do. if there isnt a clear plan in place and a considerable effort to get theo down the middle by the summer he will not resighn and will leave to who ever offers him this chance.
sad but 100% true fellow gooners, wenger please give ox gametime change formation and put theo uptop with vp alongside or just behind him. even if theo doesnt score vp is still on the pitch to get his goals and take pressure of theo. and with the ox wide right we still got a wide man doing theo’s job.

ive yet to se AOC have a bad game for us, or southampton to that matter. what happened to the old saying, if your good enough, your old enough. play the kid, give him a run arsene. you may just sabe a few of them precious pound notes of yours. He will deff be better than theo, arshavin and rosicky. maybe even give theo his wish and a little run in the side as a 2nd srtiker to RVP. not sure if it wud work, but if we really are not in the running to sign attacking players in jan, then why not give it a go. chamahk, seems far to out of form and lacking confidence to make an impact this year. i like the boy, and wud keep himanother year to see if he can regain his early season form. if he does he will be a good player. a big IF i no tho.

theo didnt go missing he was identified as the main threat in behind and as vps main source and provider and hence was completely marked outa the game by city! its not theo’s fault and also if you play on the right wing you need the man behind you to be good enough to play you in but still keep it tight, theo and sagna have a great partnership but we have had 3 different rbs since sagna was crocked so remember that badly affects theo too!
walcott is a born striker plain and simple so untill hes given a chance to play were he belongs how on earth are we ever going to see him at his best, hes been stranded on the wing for six years and hes bloody had enough, i dont blame him. Trust me we will loose him this summer over it and when he goes to barca or milan or chelsea plays down the middle and starts banging in 20 goals a season just how fucking stupid are arsene, arsenal, and the fans that criticise him going to look ?

i am one of the original walcott supporters, and lately it’s been a case of tough love, where i say “he’s shit”. but to be honest we have a a greater problem: Gervinho. this guy is terrible!!! pls sell him and put oxo in his place, oxo n wally can swap wings whenever they want but pls no gervinho, he’s a disgrace to Arsenal. he doesnt know what he’s doing ALL the time. you say he’s direct, i say he’s just runs n hopes. we are known for having decisive attackers that always know what they are doing n do it, we impose ourselves on the other team. looking at gervinho made me realise why i supported walcott from the begining.

Why oh why Wenger doesn’t play AOC is beyond me. He has proven to be a threat to any team. I agree with playing Walcott up front and Ox on the right. With their speed combined our counter attacks/attacking in general could be lethal. Wenger change your tactics a bit, Rvp needs a wingman up front, he cannot always do it alone. Also give Miyachi a chance too…he is way more enthusiastic that Arse shavings. While Gerv is gone, I would play him. Give the boys some games man, they are ready to rock and roll.

Concerning our defensive issues – looks like Blackburn could be relegated. I would re-look into signing Samba. He would jump at a chance to stay in BPL, especially with a CL team like Arsenal.

massive win, would have been a disaster if we lost that game. but gervinoh is a donkey atm, and whenevr her does get past a player he will allways lose it after, wenger needs to not play off form players like ramsey and gervinoih and play rosiky, benioyoun, and oxlade.
