Arsene Wenger Remains Relaxed Over Van Persie Contract Talks
The papers have been full of their usual speculation over the past few days about certain players contracts at Arsenal, with particular attention being paid to Robin van Persie. But Arsene Wenger remains relaxed about the whole situation and says that there is “no problem.”
Speaking at a pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon Wenger said, “You have to respect that he has nearly two years to go, so let’s not make an immediate issue of something like that. Two years in football is a very, very long time.”
Wenger went on to add, “On our side we are quite clear, so that is no problem. I do not say there is no problem because it does not depend only on us, but we are clear with our intention.”
Two years is a long time and things can change at a drop of a hat, but Gooners everywhere will be hoping that the clubs intentions are clear, and a contract worthy of the name Robin van Persie is drawn up and ready for him to sign when he is good and ready.

I really do not understand how badly Arsenal football club is run. How can you let some of these world class players run down there contracts. Sir Harry and Levy are smart cookies and are always looking to tie our world class players to longer deals so they do not get near the 2 year mark remaining of there contract. Wenger needs to learn a lesson from Redknapp and Levy. Arsenal lost about 20 million from having to let a super player like Nasri go for a cut price deal.
If Van Persie has any sense he will want to get out while he can. He should start looking for a new club that can match his ambition immediately. If the guy is ambitious and wants to win trophies then he will refuse the new contract offer from Arsenal. Van Persie deserves more and he is literally carrying the Arsenal team by himself.

Wenger tried to play down Nasri leaving last season. He was telling all you gullible fans that he is confident that Nasri will sign a new deal and that they want to wait until the season is over as all they are concentrating on is the season. Well we know how this story turned out. You lot were knocked out of three cups and had a distratrous run in the league which was relegation form.
The same situation with Nasri will happen with Van Persie. Mark my words!!!!

Van Persie must look around at the quality of the other players in your squad and think to himself that if he stays at Arsenal he will not win a trophy ever. The best he could end up with for all the service he has given to Arsenal before he retires is maybe a league cup runners up medal and Emirate cup medals. It is a real shame.

How about you worry about losing Van Der Vaart, because you never know – he may end up at Arsenal. RVP has 2 years. AW has made it clear we want to keep him. The rest we will see how it pans out. Also, you never know – maybe the policy AFC have on wages may hange between now and 2 years time? Maybe the team has a turn around and are on the move to the top of the table.
