Arsene Wenger Shares His Thoughts On Dortmund
Arsenal arrived In Dortmund yesterday knowing that tonight’s game against the Champions of Germany will not be easy, but they also know that a win could be just the catalyst they need to get their season up and running.
Arsene Wenger gave a press conference at the stadium last night and here is what he had to say ahead of the game tonight. He said, “For us, it is important to get consistency because that is the first sign of quality for a team. Therefore, it is just adding results to results and that is what we are striving for. In the Champions League, we had to qualify against a difficult team. After, we were of course destabilised by the fact we got our team very late together.”
Asked about Dortmund he replied, “I have a lot of respect for the team. They play very fast, very offensively – very similar to Arsenal. It will be a good match. We will play offensively, they will play offensively so it will be a very attractive match. Dortmund have very good technical qualities, they are well organised.”
Dortmund have not started the season as well as they would have liked and actually lost at home 2-1 on Saturday. Wenger is aware of the fact and realises they will be eager to put right the wrongs of the weekend tonight. He said, “Although they have not started the season well, they will be confident for the match tomorrow and they will give everything in the first 20 minutes. With the fans behind them, it will be a very attractive match. Football in Germany is in a good way. They play good football in Germany, especially here in Dortmund.”
He finished off by saying, “Dortmund were the strongest team in pot four, so I was a little bit disappointed [to get them]. Of course it is great to play against such a team, there is a lot of enthusiasm and it is very motivating to play against them.”
Lets hope that the team is well organised and Pat Rice is seen motivating from the touchline tonight, as Wenger is serving the first match of his touchline ban. A similar result to the one we achieved in Italy last month would go down very nicely thank you very much.

Will luv 2 share de rather high optimistic view of Carl in 2nite’s game wt Dortmund but I cant….not bcos of our 8-2 disgrace BUT DE OUTRIGHT FACT DAT ALL DS SEASON ARSENAL HASNT PLAYED ANYTHNG NEAR ANY NORMAL TEAM.Dont get me wrong I honestly want us 2 win but AS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE I NEVA LET EMOTNS GET IN MY WAY OF REASONING! Arsenal plays rubbish football esp since ds season,de reasons dont matter now,but ITS DE SIMPLE TRUTH! A draw or a win though will be a welcome suprise.[GFL-ALWAYS].

this is just the sorta game we need, away from england and the prem and the pressure of playing at home we could see the team come back to life and tear zee germans a new a-hole!
Id be more worried if the game was at the emirates as us the fans have created an envoirment at home that i dont think the players want to be in at the momment, shame on us really for creating a situation where are own players dread playing at home infront of thier own fans!
As always walcott is the key away from home, even if he plays crap if he can unsettle the german defence it will give us room to play and dictate, this is what so many anti walcott fans dont realise is he doesnt have to play well he just has to push back the defence who are worried about him getting in behind thus giving our midfield room to breath and operate. This is why walcott should spend the whole match hanging on the last defenders shoulder but knowbody seems to of worked this out yet including walcott!
