Arsene Wenger wouldn’t be happy with Bendtner’s Pizza and Beer episode
The Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner is still an Arsenal player despite vowing that he would never play for the Gunners again, and Arsene Wenger will be hoping that the Danish international has a good season with the Black Cats so he could be sold for a good price next summer.
But Wenger will not be happy with the latest gossip column nonsense that has an “arrogant” Bendtner out partying in a nightclub and then dropping in for a quick pizza while waiting for a taxi.
Never mind that Bendtner didn’t have the cash to pay for it and ended up having to beg the cost of the meal from two young girls while giving it the big’un: “Do you know who I am. I can buy the whole place!”, but Wenger will be annoyed that he’s even considering eating a pizza!
Strangely enough the story broke on the same day that Wenger told the press how important he thinks diet is in a professional footballer’s life if he wants to improve his game.
Wenger said: “I always thought it was stupid to practice the whole weekend then destroy your game because you don’t eat well, or don’t sleep well, or you don’t prepare well,”
“It happened to me when I was a player. It’s not understandable that a player practices every day, wants to be a star and then eats something that is not good for his performance.
“In other sports they did that already. In preparation you have the visible part, the training, and you have the non-visible, what a player does outside of training. That makes a super athlete.”
I doubt very much if Wenger thinks that drinking beer and dancing at a nightclub, then grabbing a pizza on the way home, is the way a so-called football star should be acting if he wants to go up in the world.
If Bendtner really expects to be signing for a Champions League side next summer he needs to do some serious thinking about his lifestyle…..

This is one of the biggest problems with professional athletes at a young age being given too much money and praise before it is actually earned. It’s easy to be a big man (no offense ontended) in Danish football, but if Bendtner were from Spain or Getmany he wouldnt get a second look!He’s a muppet and he needs to practice delivering pizzas because that’s where he’ll be in 5 years if he can’t get his ego in check and start focusing on his game.

the biggest shame of all is that we are desperate for a striker and this clown (who is still an arsenal player by the way) is of in another world when he could be playing back up to the best striker in the world at the moment, leading a charge for pl and cl glory. now hes begging strangers for pizza and is not even recognised in his own country. is this what you wanted to leave arsenal for ? what a twat and what a waste!!

I thought he didnt want to go back to the emirates but its obvious he wants to leave football completely. No self respecting footballer would do such a stupid thing. I hope AW can get him off our books quickly and we focus on getting a better quality striker who is a professional on and off the pitch.
