Arshavin – It just wasn’t our day!
The Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin says that the team blew the opportunity to catch up with Chelsea, but it was just one of those days! He thinks that the Gunners will just have to use the next “opportunity” when they face the League Leaders next Sunday.
He said: “We will need to use our opportunity next weekend when we play against Chelsea. But first we must concentrate on the Champions League match in Belgrade.
“We have started well in that tournament and need to reinforce our position in the group.
“Only after the game with Partizan will there be time to start preparations for Chelsea. First of all, we did not play well on Saturday.
“But secondly, this kind of football does not suit us. We lost the ball a lot and too many things went wrong for us.
“On the contrary, West Brom had everything coming their way and they managed to capitalise on our mistakes.
“As it turned out, we had a chance to bridge the gap between ourselves and Chelsea after their defeat to Manchester City but, unfortunately, we failed to take it.
“It was just not our day – that explains the final score.”
I wonder what he meant by “this kind of football”? Was it a different shape lol!

It was not your day because you guys thought the Baggies were a walkover. You must always remember that football is a game of Eleven men against Eleven men QED. You pay for every undue arrogance.

Once in while Wenger screws it when buying in. Asharvin was one, there have been others. Not that he`s a bad player he`s just not Arsenal and Wenger should have the gut feeling about connecting players with tradition and emotions of this great club. You either are or are not suited to Arsenal. If he were serious and, it was possible, not just economically justifiabl Hart should be between the sticks. Fabregas should be in Spain and a top replacement found. With the money an extra centre back should be available and the full back situation should be resolved not to mention a brillant striker to support a doubtful R.V.P…. Make sense?…Well, if it doesn`t it just makes for another round of `bullshit`.

Arshavin has been talking a lot this season. He needs to start walking the walk. Second goal started with his mistake and then not tracking back his man. Liverpool’s goal was also started with Arshavin’s mistake. I am sorry but I am now getting very fed up with him. I don’t like players who only does their bit in the final third. That is not enough for a team game. Either he is not intelligent enough to spot dangers in time and deal with it, or he can’t be bothered with it and leave defending to others ( thinking its not his job ), or finally, may be he is just arrogent. As a senior player, he needs to set example to the youngsters.
On Van Persie, I like him a lot. But what is the point if he is going to be injured for majority of the season.
Although Wilshire is too young and we need to be careful with him, I prefer him over Diaby. He wants to win and gives 100% every time. I can’t wait for Ramsey to start playing again. Wilshire and Ramsey together is what we need right now.

Well said sam, he should do the talking on the football field and not to the media.
I think Mr. Wenger should put him on the bench. Football is a team play, everyone should protect each other on playing field.

Arsene Wenger should be bold and accept that he made a mistake in buying Arshavin. He may have the talent, but the player is not prepared to utilize his talents for the cause of our great team. Let me sound a bit sarcastic here that probably if one of the hatchet men in the premiership breaks Arshavin’s leg, Wenger will have no choice but to stop using him in our team. Each time Arshavin is fielded, we virtually play 10 against 11.
