Arshavin tells Wenger -"I don't want to play football"
The Arsenal and Russia midfielder Andrei Arshavin has admitted that he is depressed after Russia failed to beat Slovenia in the World Cup Play-offs, and says that he is finding it hard to concentrate on the domestic competitions.
In an interview with the Russian Sport Express newspaper Arshavin said: “People close to me tell me that I need to forget what happened as soon as possible and turn my attention to club business, to the Champions League,”
“But that’s easier said than done.”
“When Arsene Wegner asked me how I was, I admitted that I simply don’t want to play football,” Arshavin said.
“He spoke to me, advised to switch to new things but it does not help at the moment.”
Arshavin was left on the bench for the 1-0 loss to Sunderland, and was only brought on for the last half an hour, replacing Aaron Ramsey. And he obviously feels like he has been blamed for the unlikely defeat.
“When we win, the whole team wins, but when we lose it’s usually Arshavin who is to blame,” he said. “I’m used to that.”
Wenger played Arshavin fo the whole 90 minutes against Standard Liege in midweek, so he must think that Arshavin is getting over his fit of depression!

O what a shame
it is indeed quite a tough one to deal with or even get over. he probably saw it as his last chance to make it to the world cup, which of is almost the pinnacle of every player’s career. The funny is Russia seemed well on their way but for the last minute setback.
I positive he’ll come to terms with it though.
poor arshavin, lets all give him a cuddle.
taxed too much on his pay, and now don’t want play football for he depressed after russia lose in world cup.
but i bet you he not be that depressed that he won’t want his pay from russia national team and arsenal this week.
he is rubbish, sell the spoilt brat and buy someone who wants to play football for arsenal
whAT A bitch!!!!
I Thank Arshavin for the spirit he has towards the achieving og the Arsenal Spot in the top four however he should be determined to get more winnings and deliver to attain at least a silver ware this season.
God bless Arshavin and Arsenal at large.

Arshavin best stop his moaning, and do what he is paid to do and dats to pour out 90 mins of ur heart on that football firtch for Arsenal FC, noone is bigger than the club, everyone needs to know that, Fergie lets his players know that at MAn U!
I think it’s good Arshavin is so honest and very frank. You always know what to expect from him because of his honesty. If he can’t be arsed to play for whatever reason, you can count on him saying, “I can’t be arsed to play.”
Other players plod around the pitch and make little effort when they can’t be arsed, but when asked they lie and make some excuse like they’re tired from a mid week game or they feel a little tightness in their leg.
At least Arshavin’s honesty helps Arsene pick a player who can be arsed unlike the lying bastards mentioned in the last paragraph ….. who make it seem we’re playing with 10 men.
Some call it moaning on Arshavin’s part, but I just see a devastated player. He’ll be 32 in the next World Cup and may have lost his last chance to play on the biggest stage of them all (as the Captain too).
When a bereavement in a players personal life happens, the fans are more understanding. But some things can effect players just as much.
well what has happen has beeen, asha just need to be stronger in himself and play more football he wll surely get over it.gunners for eternity.
