Arshavin to Chelsea! Worst Arsenal rumour ever?
I nearly actually spluttered my cornflakes all over the screen this morning when I can across the most ridiculous Arsenal rumour ever invented. Of course it’s from the News of the World…
The story goes that Andrei Arshavin is very unhappy at Arsenal, and his form has dropped even further since he has been relegated to the bench by Arsene Wenger. His contract runs out in 18 months and there has been no indication that either side are considering an extension, which means he will be allowed to leave this summer.
For the last six months Arshavin has been working closely with Roman Abramovich on the (successful) Russian bid to stage the World Cup. They have built up a good relationship together and Abramovich has offered to take him away from his Emirates nightmare.
Whoever wrote this for the NOTW obviously would have very proud of his inventiveness, but seriously, would anyone possibly believe it??
And if they had even bothered to check the recent Arsenal news, they would have found out that Wenger is very happy with Arshavin‘s contribution, even if he’s going through a blip in form at the moment.

I’ll pay for his taxi – hell, I’ll give him a piggy back to Stamford Bridge if necessary! He undoubtably has ability, and all players have dips in form, but he doesn’t look as if he gives a sh@&! If I have to see his gormless smile after cutting in and blasting the ball 15 feet over one more time I’ll give up and my ticket and bugger off down Crown & Manor every weekend. Atleast they want to play! Why doesn’t Wenger use Vela as an alternative? And as for playing Bender wide on the right……… Irrelevant I know, but WTF? worst rumor ever. form is temporary, class is permanent. he might not be scoring goals with his recent form, yet he has given plenty of assists. give him time.. what about berbatov of man utd last season? had a torrid time going through critics and look where he’s at now. arshavin’s gonna pull through. haters will hate.

How long does arshivan have to be playing poorly until people stop saying its lost of form and he simply does not want to play for arsenal yes he has ability but its not coming through on the pitch. I think any sale would be very good for both parties

And realists will realise. Anyone should be able to rack up assists on this team. I never questioned ability, only heart. Pele would have looked ordinary if he didn’t give a f@&k! Apologies for rant.
Arshavin IS a fantastic talent, but appears dis-interested and more importantly unconcerned. I would rather have a half as talented player who gave 100% than one of the world’s most promising player shuffling around with the look of a constipated Doozer on hid face after losing possession for the umpteenth time.

It’s hard not to agree that arshavin has dipped in form and looks a bit disinterested, but I do not think we should give up all hope over a 2 month or so period. He didn’t start the season off this bad just sort of slumped into it. The reason I say this is because we are furious when one of our players is having a great season and it brings on speculation that they could leave, look at the whole barcelona saga with cecs this summer. Most fans would of went ballistic if he left and what would of been said another player is unloyal to the team that got them there la la la la(I realize he played youth with barca but they let him go and we molded him into the gem he is). Now arshavins form has been poor to put it nicely but now aren’t the fans turning so quickly on him ultimately doing the same thing that we hate players for so much, for leaving, being unloyal. The way I see it there’s no point in jeering him on all the time its only going to have a negative affect. Everyone knows these guys are professionals but still everyone is different in the way they need to be handled and get motivated. Some players you
can yell at and call out and they will respond but some you
have to handle with more care because they perform better in that environment. that’s why coaches are so great at what they do they understand each individual and how to get the best out of them. If arshavin had come out recently during this poor play and blasted the club and the fans then i’d say cut his head off but even though he does have those retarded smiles on his face when I think an u 10 player could of seen not to back heel with 8 guys there lol in the meantime maybe we should give a little support. just my thoughts sorry kind of jammed together just woke up

Don’t dismiss this piece of tittle tattle out of hand. His close-ness with Abramovich could be significant as I’m sure that when they meet, they don’t just discuss the World Cup being staged in Mother Russia. Watch this space!!

sad thing is that our manager doesn’t understand the mental feelings of our players, so he can’t really help and support them this way, when they are struggling……i remember henry was havin personal issues and the managrr couldn’t help him out which was effecting his performance.
Mourinho is a psychologist hence very good with the mental side of the game.
Anyway Arshavin is gonna come round again. Little russians got bals.

Arshavin is a great player and talented but I think he is not happy with Arsenal. I remember last season he spoke about being in other clubs when the EPL season was not over yet. Now, when I see him, I feel like he has problem of attitude. Maybe he is put aside by his team mates, coach and Arsenal fans who slated him but he seems not willing to hang on and prouve his value. Maybe it is time he goes for a new challenge and I agree that a less talented could do more in these condition.

i am a seasoned gooner with years behind me and have learnt the hard way that following arsenal football club is a strain on your heart…..when have arsenal ever done things the easy way they always make us suffer…and as fans we expect it..i feel alot of players now pull on the shirt and dont understand the passion and pride of playing for the badge,like players that kiss the badge and then the next season put in a transfer request ??? arshavin is one of a long line of them players..fans just want players to turn up for 90mins and give there all in every game is that really tomuch to ask !!!!
