At last Arsenal have some quality game-changers on the bench….
“The result showed the importance of the squad but also the quality of the spirit,” Wenger had said after the match against Aston Villa, “That makes a difference if you have players who come on that have a real desire to help the team.
“You always have a chance because teams have to fight so hard against us that in the last 20 minutes fresh players can have a big impact. Benayoun and Rosicky did and that’s why we were very grateful after the game.”
Arsene Wenger decided to not speak of Arshavin, and understandably so, after his no-shows in recent matches when he came off the bench.
He is right about Rosicky and Benayoun especially, who have always provided the midfield with much-needed energy especially in the latter stages of the game when they come off the bench. While they may be short of playing time (starting matches), their performances off the bench have been very encouraging and I daresay impressive.
With these capable bench players comes competition – Rosicky and Benayoun for example will be competing with Aaron Ramsey for his starting position in midfield – and that is not necessarily a bad thing. The typical example given to Arsenal fans is the competition between Lehmann and Almunia in the 2007/08 season that really brought the best out of the Spaniard (who is now out of favour).
And more importantly with these fantastic “bench” players, Arsenal have the ability to turn games around and to grab wins even on days when the players are not at their best, giving Arsenal wins and vital points in the competitive league and cup competitions.

I know dat this comment is off chart, but i really want to see kaka wearing arsenal jersey in the january transfer window bcos his destiny is in arsenal… Kudos to benayoun and rosicky as for arshavin, i will never critize him bcos he is suffering what is natural…pressure…. He will settle in no distant time..

Rosicky, one of d most underrated players in epl. with his passing style and technique, he brings flair and creativity to d team. I’ll lyk 2 see him start ahead of Ramsey.
Wolves is a must win game, it’ll put us firmly in d top4.

rambo shud be on the bench.rosicky shud b starting ahead of him. rambo as the sub impact.he done great against marseille when hes comin.bet hes even good from the bench!

bet on! anyone that criticize rosicky shud jst shut their mouth. they dnt even see hw terrible rambo is till that villa match.ive said it the arteta rosicky combination.their one touch passing.he cn gves us that.hold up position in the middle. nw ppl realize about rambo. in few yrs time he cn b superstars.bt he is nt near to wilshere.poor holding of ball,not consistent,ddnt knw when to make a pass r where to gve the ball result to offside n lose of position.he is only a hardworking guy n i rate him for that bt i dnt think he dserve to be in the first team right now.

In Arsene we trust! I wld really like to see ramsey & gervinho given less time & c AOC on the rw with benayoun or rosicky on the left! & theo or Arshavin up top with RVP! Arteta & Song in the middle!
