Benched Arsenal Striker Wanted By PSG
Marouane Chamakh joined Arsenal last year, but he has never really won over the fans at the Emirates, and according to reports today he could be heading back to France and Paris Saint Germain.
This morning talkSPORT broke the news that PSG could offer the Moroccan International a lifeline as he is unhappy at being left on the bench, and the reports goes on to say that PSG Sporting Director Leonardo has already sounded out Chamakh about a possible move in January.
He has never really fitted in has he, and he is never going to replace Robin van Persie unless he becomes seriously injured, and lets hope and pray that doesn’t happen.

Chamakh has been limited to just four brief appearances from the bench in the Premier League so far this season, and has scored just one goal in the 4-3 defeat at Blackburn, but he did start against Shrewsbury and Olympiakos when van Persie was rested.
Any player in their right mind wants to play football rather than sitting on the bench and you would hope that Chamakh is no different, and he is undoubtedly busting a gut and trying his hardest to get in to the team, well he’d better be or he can go now if he isn’t. I know we need players, but would you be happy to see him go? After all we did buy Park Chu Young in August.

i dont mind he leaves. but its sad to see him leaving the club. he’s such a happy player and sometimes he is great. but, if we sell chamakh, must get a proven striker.

those 3 players have been taking space in the team for a few years now they get paid and do nothing they have all past there best if we could get round 30 million for them 3 i say go for it

then just invest big on a replacement for fab

Chamakh has not performed because he has not played in his position. I disagree with you he is not popular among Arsenal fans…I only hear positive things about Chamakh. And, unlike Bendtnar, he always comes on and gives his best.
When Chamakh played in front last season he did extremely well. However, how can he compete with RVP for that role. RVP has proven why he is one of the worlds top stickers.
Keep Chamakh. Sell Arshavin.

I don’t mind if he loves Arsenal, he can still be a fan. But as a player he is useless. Get rid of him a soon as possible!

if chamakh with other club who like to cross he will be top scorer.. At time when bordeux compete in uefa champ league years ago he was the top scorer with header.. He score two goals when bordeux defeat bayern

Chamakh needs to go to salvage his career that AW has ruined. Imagine being a first team player in Bordeaux only to be constantly sitting on the bench or making only 10-15 mins appearances and be expected to produce magic at the same time. He even took a pay cut and chose Arsenal over Liverpool.
Park and Chamakh deserve better than this. AW has to change the formation to accomodate them along with RVP!!

Sell Chamakh not a good idea,did a good job while Van persie was injured then dumped on the bench so how can you call him useless,wenger will never go out and buy a proven goalscorer,he is only looking for potential so he can make the player and then we will most probably sell them to barca.

Y blame him….? He hardly gets to play…..! even when he does there ain’t no proper crosses for him to do what he does best…! Imagine if he pkayed at Man U alongside A.Cole or Evra….!?! He is a good player, but does not get the chance to prove it…! Really nt his fault ppl…!

nobody must blame him…yes he is not dat star we all r looking for but,wid this formation we r playing who can we buy to start instead of van persie…if wenger cud only adjust his formation to occupy two strikers then we can blame the other striker for not scoring goal-..wenger has lost the plot…

Gunnerfan! Said it all. Arsenal ddn’t accommodate chamakh by changing the formation and is now doing the same to park. We shoul be able to defend with only 8 and 2 up top if our wings will become workhorses. 4-4-2(1) is what the doctor ordered.

@ Kyei. I agree that the formation is definitely the problem. Wenger has failed or refused to change the formation to suit the players that we have.
We have a large squad but it looks thin cause the player insists on 4-3-3 which is actually 4-5-1 as the midfielders rarely ever support RVP in the box and are too slow to cover for the wingbacks when they bomb up the wings. Chamakh can header the ball and needs more crosses into the box to be effective. I dont think he can shoot from range or take on defenders.

Ask yourselves if CHAMACK or R.V.P won’t perform better partnering each other? i see them struggle individually as lone strikers. imagine R.V.P’s flair and MAROUNE’s arial ability… 4-4-2 and d GUNNERS WILL SHOCK THE PREMIRESHIP!

If the wingers dont bring in any danger or good crosses than how is a 433 good? just change to 442 i mean bergkamp henry was te best couple why not chamak vpersie i loved to see him play when vpersie was injured hes fast strong has the right age but if he doesnt get a chance how can we say he is bad he showed clearly he has it all to succeed

Thats why I hate our lone striker policy. It makes for very frustrating games, it has many drawbacks. Especially without world class players in midfield.
- Benched forwards with little game time
- Slow attacks as RVP has to hold the ball up for support, limited options in front of goal
- Left footed shots 80% of the time, means less attempts at goal, mainly because RVP tries changing feet or tries to pass instead.
- Too many mid-fielders trying to attack, leaves our defence exposed (especially when Song pushes up, and Lazshavin on the pitch)
- All this stops us from scoring 2/3 goals against weaker teams and unable to play other forwards
I think Chamakh could be a good player for us, he’s good in the air, fairly composed. Although he’s not had a run for a while, his confidence is knocked. (Torres would sympathise) We seem to be playing at lot more down the wing this season, as we don’t have Fab4, Samir and Wilshere to weave magic down the middle.

I feel sorry for chamakh. he is a good player but we haven’t been playing to his strentghs. Play a 4-4-2 formation nd buy a winger dat can cross a ball. Not only will chamakh bang in goals for fun van persie won’t be isolated nd will have less pressure.

Chamakh is a vantastic player that hasnt been given the right oppertunity play a 4_4_2 formation and watch !! hes proven himself on numerouse Occasions for bourdeux and Morroco
so why not give him a chance because not alone can he bang in headers but he can also hold the ball up well and would be able to play great 1-2s with RVP
dnt sell !!!!! but if ur just going to keep on benching him, he might aswell leave because i no for a fact that he will do great at PSG!!!! Great Player to be fair !!
