Bendtner and Fabregas to be left out of Koln trip
It is being reported this morning that both Nicklas Bendtner and Cesc Fabregas are to be left behind while the Arsenal squad go to Germany for the second leg of their pre-season training schedule.
After Pep Guardiola’s statement to the press about Fabregas it seems that Barcelona officials are on their way to London with an improved offer for the Gunners captain, but the official reason will probably be to exercise his never-ending injured hamstring.
The Barcelona midfielder Xavi was roundly criticised by Arsene Wenger after saying that Fabregas was “suffering” from not being allowed to leave Arsenal, and the Spanish international responded by….talking about Fabregas some more!
He said: “We know Cesc has this desire to come and I said that he was suffering. But I don’t want to offend either Wenger or Arsenal.
“I was only looking out for the interests of Cesc and Barca. The controversy seems absurd to me – I don’t want to get into a war of words with Wenger.”
“It seems this year they are more disposed to sell than in previous years and therefore you need to be more optimistic.”
“But everything depends on an agreement because, obviously, he is an Arsenal player and he has a contract.”
Nicklas Bendtner is still looking for a new club and Wenger is hoping that further talks will come to fruition while the squad is in Koln, but as all the rumours surrounding the Dane seem to involve German clubs, perhaps he would better off joining the team in Germany!
At this particular moment, it seems more likely that Bendtner will still be an Arsenal player than Fabregas next season…..

Can Fabregas, please just leave already. It is sad to think this was our captain. I wish him and his hamstring as well as his stupid flicks in front of the box the best of luck.

I think when fabegras was created by wenger it disturbed the balance of the team and wenger was so into fabegras, he bought players with similar traits. I think this is the opportunity to form the new Arsenal. With everyone carrying their load

I feel sympathy for Wenger he has been let down by the players and injuries badly.
if some players had an ounce of loyalty we be in such a strong position.
Adebayor (Partnering van persie would be deadly)
Flamini (was total class in has last season with us, Cesc played so much better along side him)
Toure (Toure&Vermealen would be the strongest CB pairing in the league)
Hleb (So much better than rosicky)
Ashley Cole (still have the best left back in the world for another 4 seasons)
Jose Antonio Reyes (Would be world class if he stayed with us)

Can Cesc just pay the 7 million shortfall with his Barca buddies and he can gladly leave. I am sure they can afford it, being superstars and all. Meanwhile, he earns 110,000 per week, gets treatment at the Arsenal and still demands to leave when he signed on for an extra 4 years.

Fabregas must have the longest running hamstring injury in the history of the world. He hasn’t played since last April, do we really want a player who can spend 4 months injured with a single hamstring injury or is it just an injury of convenience.
