Bendtner staying at Arsenal, despite exit rumours
Rumours have been flying around the last 48 hours that Nicklas Bendtner will leave Arsenal with Sunderland being named as one possible destination. Skybet even slashed the odds of him heading to the Stadium of Light.
However, comments made by his father a few days ago suggest different with him insisting that Bendtner is happy at Arsenal and wants to stay and fight for his place until the summer transfer window at least.
It has been said in the media that Arsenal are willing to let Bendtner leave for 15 million. Not according to Arsene Wenger they are not..
“I want him to stay. I have known him since he was 16-years-old and I have a strong rapport with him.
“I like him as a player and a person, even if I do not agree with every statement. Overall I want him to stay and be part of the group.”
His father and agent has backed that statement up, declaring that Nicklas is not shifting an inch:
“If Arsenal wish to sell him and put a price on him, that’s up to them.
All I can say is that we are not interested.”
I quite like Bendtner, he is a big game player and for his age his goalscoring to starts record is not bad at all. He has not had the best of seasons so far but he is just coming back from injury.
Towards the end of last season he single-handedly kept us in the title race, the ‘king of brinkmanship’ as the Arsenal website calls him.
He will be class. Believe me.

Couldn’t agree more. Once he gets over this injury and calms himself down, and believe me, fatherhood will do that, he will be unbelievable.
Sometimes I think we have forgotten how old he is. He will only get better. But I hope he doesn’t lose all that arrogance!
I also feel that Bendtner would be one of the players to actually benefit from Wenger’s final departure as I feel a stronger manager or at least a manager who has played ‘up front’ would give him something to prove. As a big game player, I think he would tise to the challenge.

Very good article, I also think Bendtner is horribly underrated, towards the end of last season he was superb despite playing with a constant niggle because of the car crash earlier in the season. When he gets a string of games together he’ll do well I know it. He’ll have 2 games in a row now with Ipswich and Huddersfield at the Emirates now and I would be shocked if he didn’t score at least 1.

bendtner staying or going out of arsenal is in my opnion not n issue as long as he does not start for arsenal he is big and clumpsy with van persie doing well n chamkua as his backup asrnel has enough striking power arshvin is not in form n if walcot can think as fast as run we 2 more striking power who needs bendtner

there are 2 players in the current arsenal team i believe a season long loan at premier league teams will bring the best out of them. these players names are Bendtner and Vela
anyone else agree

I was trying to look at our statistic in the ration of goal opportunity created to goals actually scored. Yesterday we had 16 shots on target. We scored 3. Man United had just 8-9 on target and scored 5!By the way it is one statistic that stands out. We lead in creating scoring opportunities but we are poor goal getters. The ratio of conversion to real goal is appalling and may have cost us lots of points this season. By now i have a feeling the league table would have been Arsenal and then the others.
So maybe Wenger needs to do something about that. If we have to keep Bendtner in Emirates, a loan spell for the rest of the season may give him the opportunity to get his form back. Vela too should be loaned out. Meanwhile we need to bring someone to create pressure on our two main strikers. at 10 – 15 Million, Wenger has lots of options. This is because i hate to imagine another injury on Chamahk or RvP and what strain it would do to our title prospects. It is also wise to keep rotating. so that we do not get fatigue playing into our players attitude.
Defense, Get that guy Cahill. He is 26 and i have a feeling one of the two (Koscienly or Schillachi) must be gotten rid off. Johan Djourou is a walking Risk and Wenger knows this. Even Koscienly has been in trips to the ER. So let forstall the unthinkable happening.
Denilson? I think he is a weak link in the centre of the pack. We can get a player like Mascherano for 2 seasons as we wait on the youth prospect in emirates to step into the plate.
We are still withing striking distance of a major trophy haul this season. We should not blow it for sentimental reasons.

for be bendtner will be big player in few years but he need to be loan out…wenger should sign defender b4 if he really want to sell bendtner…other wise when money comes in his hand he become like house wife who do not like to have anything if they want also…

The best decision for Bendtner is to go out on loan to a club where he’ll be guaranteed regular first team action for the remainder of the season- just like J. Wilshere did last season.

imo if he is going to play, stop playing him as a winger. It does not make much sense to me when you have vela that can do that role. If aw wants to play chamack and Bendtner just revert to 442 with Arsh and Vela on either wing.
I then think you will see the ratio of goals go up as it will be a more direct style than the tippy tappy football we all love to see.

I really do not completely agree wit de article…Bendtner is only a good scorer but worse on de outfield! Van Persie and Chamakh can play upfront and fall back in de midfield because they have de ability to hold on to ball and pass which Bendtner do not have. Anytime Bendtner adjust to de midfield,he mostly causes problem for de defenders by giving a backpass. A striker who can not switch btw de forward and midfield will always make it easy for de opponent defenders….look at Rooney 4 example,he has lost scoring form but he’s still in de game coz of his various assists mostly from de midfield. That’s why I dont see Bendtner as one big player as such. He is a player that needs a final pass to score, not a striker that dig deep for de rest to score, which is not good for de team because de kind of game we play gives authority to anyone available to hit de net,not necessarily de strikers….just like Barca

I think Nick has great potential & is often unfairly criticised. He’s never been a first choice striker & is often played out of position but when played he has often scored important goals for us. He needs to be playing every game in his favoured position to progress & at the moment I don’t see that happening at Arsenal. The problem is that I just can’t imagine him (& his pink boots)on loan anywhere in the EPL, which is where he needs to be.
He’s easily as good as Andy Carroll who’s rated at £30 million, so £15 million for a player with a lot of (productive) international & Champions League experience (scored at the Nou Camp!!) isn’t too much.

Guys cut Bendtner some slack. I know him and Arshavin can be frustrating at times, with there poor workrate, but they need games to find consistency. Bendtner gets alot of stick because of his overconfidence, but remember the last few games hes played poor because he has been on the wing, which was down to wenger playing him their. Hes not agile, quick or creative to play on the wing, hes a striker. When van persie was injured last season and we needed him he stepped up to the plate and scored some crucial goals. He will score goals with a run in the team in his favoured position (striker). I don’t know how he will overtake RVP and chamakh but he should get a chance, chamakh doesn’t shoot when should and bendtner does, which does lead to goals. Finally i also feel wenger should try partnering vela and bendtner in our cuo games, if vela doesn’t go on, i think a fruitful partnership, little and large like crouch and defoe.

As a team who are not clinical enough the LAST thing we need is NB52. He has the worst 1st touch AND ariel ability in the league. Bendtner is the worst striker in the league. YES. Even titus bramble haS this “not so kiddish” striker in his pocket.

why does evry1 seem to think he stepped up when really needed last year… he did NOT. he took 18 chances b4 scuffin 1 into the corner (minus stoke header). This season as many previous, when he is in the team he brakes down our build up play as he is not able to pass even remotely. when he has played (wigan, leeds, ipswich) of late( good teams eh!;)) he has been very consistant. consistantly an embarrassment to my life. he gets paid to weat the shirt i have to play for. Is he arsenes love child?! REALLy wouldnt put it past him. YOU GOONERS ARE BRAINWASHED

To be honest, bendtner hasn’t done so much for arsenal. Forget the goals he scored last season. I mean, who wouldn’t? He was our only fit striker so he had to score. I think he’ll improve though we don’t have the patience to wait for that. His big mouth isn’t helping as well.
