Better news for Nasri and Bendtner
It was reported last night that the Danish FA have made a statement saying that their Player-of-the-Year Nicklas Bendtner would not be playing again until next year at the earliest, but that has now been denied by his father, who says that he should be back in around a month and there has been no further setback.
Thomas Bendtner, who also acts as his son’s agent said last night: “It is not true that the injury was aggravated. I am in contact with him every day and I wanted to know if it was worse. He is still improving, and he hopes for each week that passes, he will soon be ready again. But there is one month before he is back, I can not say.”
The reports are therefore in error, but it has been suggested that the Danish FA meant that he wouldn’t be playing for the national team again until the round of games in January……..
More good news as well about Samir Nasri, who has returned to training at Arsenal. He won’t be involved in the France games next week so it is thought that he should be fit enough to be named in the Arsenal squad to face Bolton the following weekend.
The only bit of bad news is that Van Persie will be out for four weeks, which means that Marouane Chamakh will be the only recognised striker for Bolton, unless of course Wenger decides to push Walcott down the centre again……

Good news, pity about van Persie. Wenger will wait until the 2nd half to swap Walcott and Chamakh.

Oh dear, our squad is not bad at the moment though some injuries. We are still safe to act.

He said that before they had time to properly assess the injury. They are being very precautious with RVP.

chamakh to start in CF, and instead of pushing walcott inside, wenger should bring vela on. that boy has serious talent and needs game time.

bruce, wenger said that right after the game, before the injury had been assessed. he said if it was just a sprain, it would be 8 to 10 days at most. it obviously wasn’t just a sprain

We’re sorted for cover. We have our number 11 dying for more games. We have Chamakh dying to prove himself too. We have Walcott with a fire up his ass. We have Arshavin hoping this is his year to set the world on fire. We have Rosicky who said he’s going to get more selfish and score more as assists don’t seem to be enough to get him starts.
We have a healthy competition in our squad and Chamakh will no doubt be playing to prove to Wenger that Bendtner won’t be needed when he comes back.
This our season, whether we win a trophy or not we’re going to see a great team play brilliant football and Almunia has until January to prove his worth to us, he’s had the worst possible criticism this summer and he’s even had to face the fact that we were looking for a replacement. If that doesn’t fire him up to do well then he’s gone in january.

My fellow gunnors wake up from your slumber, trophies are not won after 3 games the journey has just started. Great expectations by Charles Dickens is a good book for some of you. Don’t expect much from Wenger’s recruitment style remember he sacrificed the premier league in order for Chamak to come on free. had he signed him in Jan who knows he could have fired us to glory when RVP was crooked and Bentner firing blanks

Robert …. I am sorry but i totally disagree, whilst we are all entitled to our opinions but saying something like ‘Wenger sacrificed the PL in order to get Chamakh on a free’ shows little knowledge of how premier league football and Arsenal in particular works.
Basically what you are saying is that Chamakh is worth MINIMUM 12pts to us because that was the points shortfall last season as Chelsea also scored a higher number of goals overall than we did.
If he was worth 12pts straight with little or no time to integrate and train with the squad he would never be allowed to move on a free!

How would the Dutch no? he has not gone to the national team,Why do we believe anything other than Arsenal.com tell is about injuries?I site Bentner as an example, or perhaps how accurate the Dutch were last time RVP got injured, remember that? 6 weeks they said ,and what was it 6 months

i can’t see how van persie the lazy b******d ,is out for that long a time ,i twisted my ankle playing football once and was back playing the following week, and wenger said cleary on tv that he be out for 8 to 10 days.
having said that we all know van persie does’nt like playing football in certain moths of the year, mainly september, november, december and often feburary.
maybe next summer wenger will need to think about selling him,for someone who likes to play football.
