Blackburn join Chamakh chase as Bordeaux demand quick sale
The Bordeaux Chairman Jean-Louis Triaud may have shot himself in the foot by calling Sunderland too small a club for Marouane Chamakh to join after they offered £12m for the striker, since it seems that Arsene Wenger has only offered half that sum to take him to the Emirates, and refuses to budge on the price.
Today the French media are reporting that Blackburn have joined the chase today, but Triaud think that they are any bigger than Sunderland and allow him to talk to them?
The player himself has already indicated that Arsenal would be his dream move and will try and force the club to accept Wenger’s offer, but whatever happens Triaud wants the deal sorted out sooner rather than later.
“I would like everything to be sorted out this week or as soon as possible,” Triaud told L’Equipe.
Chamakh is now back in France with his club, but has let them know his feelings and will also want a quick resolution.
He said: : “Clearly I will stay and see out my contract if Bordeaux shut the door to my move. But it’s certain I won’t be 100 per cent.”
“To miss out on a move to Arsenal will play in my head. I’ll feel betrayed. I won’t have a good season.”
“If I go to the end of my contract, it will be a pity for me and for them. Everyone will be a loser.”
Will Wenger and Chamakh get their wishes?
