Bordeaux confirm trying to tempt Chamakh back to France
There have been constant rumours that the Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh is set to leave Arsenal in January, either on loan or on a permanent basis, but according to the Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud neither Chamakh or Arsene Wenger will reply to his messages asking for Chamakh to move back to Ligue 1 next year.
“In the last two months I have been leaving messages with Marouane.” Triaud said. “I also left messages with Arsene Wenger but I got no answer.”
“His silence shows probably that he still hopes he will make it at Arsenal.”
The Daily Mail said this morning that Squillaci, Almunia and Chamakh were all surplus to requirements at the Emirates and that Wenger was looking for clubs to take them off his hands, but it seems that they were definitely wrong about Chamakh.
Or perhaps Triaud was ringing a wrong number???

Agreed, if they want chamakh they have to take squid as well. Arsene should really consider selling chamakh, I think he would/will be great in a 4-4-2 formation but if we’re not goin to change formation than change personel. I believe park can provide sufficient cover for van persie but since park has military duty in a couple years and since injury is always possible, I’d like to see a striker bought in January or early in the summer. Some names I think could provide competition for Robin are huntelaar, cisse, podolski, dumbia, and sow. More depth shoul always be welcome at the emirates

papiss cisse will be great. He scored 22 goals for lowly freiburg in the bundesliga last season(only second to mario gomez) and has 8 already this season. The only problem is that he will be at the nations in january.

He’s good but I can’t see him being great, another wiltord imo. Sell him at the right price because he’s a good squad player to have I wouldn’t like to see him go for peanuts. I’d love another great striker. I think were good everywhere else the team is moulding well

Chamakh will not make it at Arsenal.. His technique with the ball at his feet is too poor and his pace is abysmal.
Arsenal would do well to sell him on while top tier clubs are still interested.. As far as squillachi goes – we may well have to pay a club some money just to take him off of our hands! – I’d certainly be willing to throw in a tenner towards the shipping costs

I’d say sell him, 10 mil is respectable, replace him with Jovetic, who can play as a striker LW, or CAM.
Though in all honesty I doubt he will leave this January, if his form doesn’t improve he may be sold in the summer, but their is no guarantee of that either.
Wenger is notorious of keeping faith in players who seem lost and low on confidence, look at Henry….please don’t think I just compared Henry to Chamakh because I certainly did not.

has any1 been watching joel campbell develop? he is fast becoming lorients best player n he had another good run against spain where he scored in the 2-2 friendly n was a constant threat 2 spanish defence by next season he will be a beast i think MR Wenger found another gem for the usual price……..3 peanuts:)
