Campbell – Wenger will bring in some experienced players
The Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has been discussing the difference between the !Invincibles” team that went undefeated all season six years ago, and the new batch of Wenger prodigys that make up the Gunners team today.
“It’s a younger team now,” he said. “I think in the next couple of years the gaffer will address that and redress the balance. I’m sure he’ll bring in some more mature players.
“This team is totally different, but still have the potential to go on and win things. They have to develop some self-belief, put a little bit extra in and make some sacrifices. They have to really believe, and really go for it. That’s when you make your own luck in the game.”
It is expected that Campbell will be starting again today against Sunderland in his third start since returning to Arsenal. Is this a bad time to mention his record so far?

update:: Campbell – Wenger will bring in some experienced players http://bit.ly/8YpC1H
The question of age is stupid, because having players of 20-25 is no problem. The problem is the lack of quality. For example Fabregas is one of the best midfielder in the world and he is still 22. I would like to see us buying young, experienced and soon-to-be world-class players. Who have the determination and will to do great things.
I am a true Gooner, I think Campbell is spot on. He Presented the argument very well. Now, what
I am hoping and thinking, is the gaffer going to do exactly that? The team is good, we just need to beef up all the departments with couple players and we will be spitting fire next year. GOD BLESS ARSENAL.
“Is this a bad time to mention his record so far?”
Do you mean the goals he’s scored? Maybe you and the lads ought to have a look to his passion and skill, right now, as a example of how to be a player and accept nothing less from ourselves.
I think the only problem is how much the players want to win
We all know that will never happen. If Wenger wanted mature players he would’n sell Hleb,Henry,Adebayor,Toure…And when Campbell said mature did he ment OLD(REALLY OLD LIKE HIM)?
Why do people keep referring to Campbell as “old” 35 isn’t old, the best defenders played till they were 40-41, Paolo Maldini for example.
Good ol’ Sol!!
Still a great competitor, the ONLY Gunner ever to score in a CL cup final and a Spud ‘ater on top.
i think campbell is right..our players must believe in themselves and the manager..everytime we lose someone pops up saying we lack experience(ex:nasri)..its the players’ job to execute the manager’s game plan and “in arsene we trust”
Nitti, name another defender who played til they were 41?
And buying young soon to be world class players is what Mr Wenger is trying to do…if you mean players like Fabregas…then have a think about how much he would cost? We wont be buying any of them…
