Capello Questions Arsenal Over Wilshere Absence
We all know that footballers get injuries, after all it is part of the game, but over the past couple of seasons it seems as though the Arsenal players have had more than their fair share. Some people have questioned the medical team at Arsenal, and it seems as though the latest person to do so is England Manager Fabio Capello.
Speaking ahead of the England game on Tuesday night Capello said, “I know he suffered the same injury two years ago. He then suffered this accident against Switzerland and afterwards he went on holiday. He started the season and was not fit — then yes, no, yes, no?
Capello went on to say, “Now they’ve found the problem. It’s not my job to say what happened, but he suffered against Switzerland and then went on holiday for a month. I hope he will be fit in a really short time for Arsenal and for us, as he’s a really important player for both. I selected him against Switzerland, he was fit. During the game, these injuries can happen.”
Wilshere revealed this week that he was going to be out for up to three months which means he is going to miss vital games for both club and country. Arsene Wenger did not want Wilshere to play for the England Under-21′s during the summer as he wanted his player to rest, but then took him on tour to the far east.
Now I am not a Doctor or Physician, but surely a lenghty rest for Wilshere would have been far more beneficial, and if he had got one he may not be sidelined now!

It does make me wonder if they are doing enough strength training with there stamina and conditioning. Even explosive work would have an impact on there muscle and tendons, which would give them that extra strength to take the ups and downs of the premier league. Everyone takes knocks but arsenal do need to look into this a bit more.

Both Medical and Training need to answer why so many of Arsenal’s team are injured so often, for so long, in comparison with other teams? Now the spotlight is firmly focused on Arteta, Benayoun, Santos, PM, Gervinho. Let’s see how soon any one of them will be sitting out due to injury. If injuries follow the same pattern, then serious questions must follow.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist 2 conclude dat as far as sport’s Injuries are concerned, there’s definitely a problem in Arsenal Fc!Both Arsenal’s Physical Training methods & The medical team specificaly de Physio Dept NEEDS RE-EVALUATn & Improvemnt!THE RATHER MASSIVE INCIDENCE of Injuries in Arsenal is definitely one of de numerous reasons of de teams poor performance season after season!

injury is part of the game. capelo is just a bad worker that quarels with his tools. he doesnt pay his wages so he should mind his business. he turned great england talents into an average team. he should go and look for a clubside to coach.

What more can we say that hadn’t been said about our medical and physical training team? Lets just hope and pray that the injury spell would work for us this season, which i think its happening already.

I know we have been really unlucky with the injury issue, but looking at the current injuries i would say they have nothing to do with the med team. Wilshere as far as i know has got a fatigued bone in the ankle, TV5 had surgery to remove plantaris tendon which makes me think he was suffering a compresive neuropathy. They are not related at all. About recurrent problems like VP’s ankle , well once you got your ligaments loosen they will be weak and prone to injury. I think this is all about the lack of depth in every position, before this season we didn’t have the amount of quality players needed to rest our 1st team and not risking “easy points” that lead us to use our best players in a lot of games, and you can’t expect to be injury free when you overload your players.

Funny how Capello finds time to ridicule our medical staff but can’t even put a convincing win together against Wales? Ok Fabio. Run along.

I agree with DNT.Our squad has/is too thin for the very competative and rigorous EPL.we tend to field th same players week in week out.therefore th risk of getting injured is high.we need a strong healthy squad so we can rotate/rest some players but still get th desired results.gooner for life!

I think Arsenal need to re-access the current medical team staff. We have a world-class of football training and treatment facilities but over the years, still too many players on the treatment table and take much longer than expected time to recover.

honestly, there are so many tings wrong wit our club 4 d past six years.2005fa cup finals, man u nearly killed us but we stil won.since 2006 til date we hav not won even a tumbler after puting up briliant performances year in year out.no tanx 2 injuries 2 our at d peak of every year.some are so mysterious (rosicky, rvp, vamelin etc). but in al these i am proud 2 submit dat no club in d epl can go thru al dat arsenal had gone thru these past six years and stil remain in d top 4.i am waiting 2 b proved wrong.believe dis 2011 is our year.asking why?.bcos al these past 6 years we’ve never had it so tough at d begining.it has bn al smooth earlier and disaster in d end.our poor show so far is a blesing in disguise.watch out.
