Carlos Vela – I was never happy at Arsenal
The little Mexican wizard Carlos Vela is very happy to be on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain, and it was revealed this week that he is set to ask Arsene Wenger to allow him to stay away from the Emirates and continue playing for the La Liga minnows.
Now today he has explained his decision, and his feeling that he never really felt like he belonged at Arsenal. He said: “I would stay at Real,”
“I am happy and the people support me. I owe Arsenal affection and gratitude for the opportunity that they gave me, but I was not happy there and this affected my work.
“It was hard day to day and, when it came to training, I was thinking about going home. Here, however, I am happy and have made good friends.”
I wonder if he didn’t like the weather, or struggled with the language? But it didn’t seem to affect his play when he was on the pitch. He always looked like a future star to me……

To be honest I dont know why AW loaned him out anyway. It should have been Chamakh who should have been the loanee.

vela is a special talent. Given the right position and a better man-manager such as martin o’neill we could have had a striker scoring 20 goals a season and making the same number. The guy is a real footballer, not like chamakh or bendtner. Typical arsenal. we will be left with the dross and struggling to get mid-table next season. Its almost tragic whats happening to our great club.

This kind of thing has happened before. I mean, how many fans had their hopes up when a young Denilson arrived? When Chamakh came, Bendtner and of course Vela?
Denilson… Wasted talent, could have been SO big.
Chamakh… He seemed to be such a good prospect at first, but look where he is now.
Bendtner… You all know how that situation is.
Vela… Not exactly the star player everyone thought he would be, and he’s not happy now. Basically his path to becoming one of the best has been ruined.
This is the dark side of Wenger’s philosophy. But it is also proof that it doesn’t always work. And it is also exactly why I’m still sceptical and of course, very worried, about this whole Oxlade-Chamberlain deal. All it takes is one good season, an injury and that’s it, his career’s ruined.
So please Wenger, whatever you do.. Take good care of Chamberlain and don’t let it end up like how it did for Denilson and Vela and Bendtner. He’s a real talent, and I believe someday maybe closer than we think, he’ll lead Arsenal to a trophy.
Never give up, lads.

Vela cud be a real quality player, i dunno why wenger persists with some players like wallcot so so much. im sure if we had vela on bench n subbed him a few times for wally, it wuda done both players a hellava much needed good. Wally thinks that hes an established player since hes in the starting xi. But the truth is that wallcott has never been a worthy starting xi player for any team in epl. I always thought wallcot wud grow as a player, but hes pretty much the same as wen we bought him, fast n nothing else. He thinks thats good enuf. Vela or any other prospect that wasnt so one sided as wally to compete for that position wudda made both players much better

Vela never hit the high level that was expected or required at Arsenals standard, hence why he was loaned to REAL soleicdad and not REAL madrid. having said that i still think hes a great talent, but not meant for the Gunners armoury.

everyone says vela is a good talent, agreed but i feel dat arsenal babysitted this so-called talentd player for so long and he felt comfortable on the bench; nw dont gt me wrong, i have always liked vela nd still do but he did nt prove himself enough to secure a first team spot and thats y he’s wat he is; a loanee. look @ aoc, we bought him, gave him chances nd he’s playin beta dan some first team players (no name mentioned), so vela shut up and stop whinning cus ur pissin me off, and dont blame ansenal for wat u did 2 urself.

Only ever looked good in England in the Carling Cup so not that bothered. Definitely more suited to the Spanish league, so sell him but put the money towards our own transfers for the present, not future.

I agree Vela is too lightweight for the premier. He may become a good player when he is about 26yrs. He is actually better off in another team and in Spain. Except for some trickery here and there it is not easy to see where his strength lies as a footballer.

Decent player, won’t shed a tear if we sell him. He’s never gonna be a game winning starting 11 striker for us or anyone else. If he’s so great then Real Sociedad will offer him a contract to leave Emirates. If not he’ll be loaned out again till someone does buy when his contract is up.

Unfortunate, although he was never good at Arsenal (apart from some rediculous goals in the carling cup) something tells me he will become a Forlan or Rossi over in Spain…..hope not coz would be a kick in the sac.

Vela is a very talented player and if you guys are reading closely, he is thankful for the opportunites at Arsenal and to the fans as well. So why say he was not good when he really is. Walcott is the most inconsistent player Arsenal has and no one talks shit about him. Point being is that Vela just needs to a new team and start fresh to show what he can really do. He’s just trying to look out for himself. Easy to do the talking when you are not the player.

I don’t understand Arsenal fans, he is in no way talking negatively about Arsenal. He blames himself for not breaking into the 1st team. Oh also 3 goals, and 5 assists, and is starting 2/3 games, that means first choice. If you actually watched the games, you see his vision is extraordinary. His play screams Arsenal, it’s a shame, but it is time to move on.

This wasn’t said. Misquoted to shit just to anger the fans. He stated he would be open to staying if both parties could agree. He praised Real Sociedad (the club that is playing him and wearing a uniform for) and was very humble in his response to transfr speculation. He said he would play for whoever wanted him. Never did he say he “was unhappy.” Listen to interview if you can understand Spanish!!!

Carlos Vela may have not have the great first team season Jack Wilshire had;however why wasnt he given more first team appearances after his first games at at Arsenal and thoses three goals in two games in 2011 season(bolton and Braga both of which from the bench). If Wenger would have intigrated him into the first team more frequently with a run of games especially in the beginning of the 2011 season when rvp was injured vela wouldnt be loaned out right. The true is the man did his part to earn a starting 11 spot its Wenger whose at fault reguardless he will shine in la liga.

Vela should be let go he has been given, too many chances. even last season when he was loaned to West Brom he failed to even get a regular starting role and West Brom isn’t the best of teams.

Quit saying he is light weight you idiots watch the games. Yall are looking at the wrong things. You need goals he will get em. Fabregas was quoted saying he was the best finisher in the team outside of robin. Which right now the bar isn’t set very high. Relying on Robin to score all the goals will get you no were.

vela lightweight????? ..what about gervinho then?….vela has twice the vision and touch and finishing that gerv has………a proper manager would have got vela scoring regularly not just stick him on the touchline like wenger does with players like bendtner!…what a joke!

Aidangooner is Right on.. All his comments are spot on.. the rest of the comments are not as succinct or as perceptive.. aidan keep the comments coming..
mertSACKer must go.. no more.. get the dutch defender at all costs ..then RVP might stay..Move quickly.. same price..
Samba is also a must.. considering that he has the highest
clearance rate of any defender..Although playing for Blackburn he has more than his share of attackers comin at him.. big n strong.. A must.. he is desperately needed
Gervonho is tricky etc but when it comes to strikin the ball with power..Ahhh, my cat has more power. His crosses are never accurate.
Wenger he must have ROCKS in his head to resign Djoujoeee
look at the man u 8-2 defeat..he was the main culprit.
WASTE OF MONEY..useless..this guy is braindead..
on set defensive plays .. an extra defender on the line might stop a few goals.. WHY??NOT??
Its great to see the gunners pass the ball, pass pass n pass..We need an attacker that can take on n beat defenders… Barca have 4 like that..We have?????WHO???
RVP is not agile enough. A suarez a Silva the Spanish teams all have a player who will take on the line..
it creates uncertainty.. just pass, pass pass is so predictable ..easy to defend.. Yesterday Sunderland were pushing forward when Gunners in possession.. no one tried to beat the defender.. at times we kept ging backwards.. man u do this also..

Vela was never really given a chance by Wenger, I’m sure he would had performed better than the best striker in the world(bendtner) lol, and I dont understand why Wenger dont give park a chance he deserves it. And I believe the only reason why Santos played is just cuz gibs is always injured otherwise Santos with be waiting like park still is.
