Chamakh tells Arsenal – Play me or I’ll leave

Posted on December 12, 2011 by admin

The Moroccan international striker Marouane Chamakh has finally spoken out about the Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting he will be leaving the Emirates in January, and denies there is much chance of that happening, but it will be a different story next summer.

Chamakh has only started one game for the Gunners this season, and he told the press that if this situation continues then he will have to consider any offers that come in in June, but he wouldn’t go back to Ligue 1 except with Bordeaux.

He said: “I am 27 and I need to play. I cannot stay like this forever. I won’t leave in January but I will take an important decision in June.

“I was surprised by the offers I got last summer but my priority was to stay at Arsenal. A return to France? If so, it will be to Bordeaux.”

It was always unlikely that Chamakh would leave in January as he will be away at the African Nations Cup for six weeks, but if Van Persie (and Ju Young Park!) both stay fir it looks like he will be on his way before next season….

**Van Persie’s first 100 goals for Arsenal – 10 goals per minute! – Brilliant!**

so rvp and park??what if rvp injured??and tired??hope not,and park steps up to the standard.bt wenger hv said that park wip gt a lot of chances in the scond half of the season.so unlikely for any signings for mr.prof cus wenger hv almunia, fabianski, squid, djourou, denilson, arshavin, bendtner and chamakh.that is a big squad with some useless for us and cnt cntribute anythng.

rshavin doesnt seem to hv any ambition, stil lazyyy.evntho i wud like him to b on the ramsey role.or rosicky too.rambo unimpresive!

Sell Chamackh and use the money to buy Podolski or any other good striker which would make a great second striker.

  7. S.H says:

It angered me to see Bendtner given so many opportunities and Chamakh less. What did Wenger see in the useless 6″4 Danish?

Fair enough Chamakh hasn’t been great but it comes from low self esteem and a lack of confidence with too much time on the bench. We forget how hard it is for an athlete to shine if he doesn’t have the support of the Manager or fans.

He was great start of last year and I don’t see why he couldn’t revert back to that if given the chance. If he leaves well so be it, but we better buy a new striker rather than bring that useless idiot who thinks he’s a world class striker.

Please Arsenal fans, give the guy a break. We forget Chamakh loves Arsenal and has always supported us as a kid. Lets show him due respect!

  8. undisclosed says:

Chamak has started 6 matches this season not 1. which is more than benayonun and park the same as rosicky and only 3 less than jd. havent heard any of those internationals complaining.

if he was that upset he would not be waiting till the summer. that said it wouldnt hurt to play him in the ressies to see if he can get his confidence back certainly a loan to bordeaux should be considered. we should be doing all we can to get him back on form perhaps the ACN will do that.

i think it just goes to show the quality of the french league that pla ers like chamakh and gervinho come here and cannot score the same amount of goals. thong is everyone is on chamakhs case but gervinho cant hit a cows ass with a banjo yet no one is getting at him. this time last year chamakh had scored 11 goals yet gervinho has managed what 2 or is it 3?

lets hope wenger buys goetze(highly unlikely) and lets chamakh go on loan to everton. They are crying for a striker. If he does good keep him, else sell him in june. He doesnt seem to have the finishing or the skill to be a regular for arsenal. If chamakh is unhappy its his own fault. He has been poor this season whenever he has played. He seems like a poorer version of berbatov. Lets hope wenger does the right thing.congratulations to united and city for qualifying for the europa league :D

I’ll rather prefer we loan him out τ̩̩̥Ơ̴̴̴͡ an active premier league club like everton than τ̩̩̥Ơ̴̴̴͡ chase the guy away just like that, remember chamakh’s record when he first join us last season. He can still be a great guy fO̶̷̩̥̊͡Я us,he just need τ̩̩̥Ơ̴̴̴͡ restore his confidence ãήϑ i believe a loan will help him ( i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊) achieving this

  14. So d manager shuld be playing u mr chamack and leave rvp on d bench.with ur awful peformances whenever u get chance 2 play.do u hate arsenal this much.my advise is this…if u are not satisfied as a back up 4 now,pls leave.i’m sure aw will not make it difficult 4 u if u insist on leaving.

just loan him to other club.. The problem is chamakh cannot adapt the way arsenal play. He is dead ball situation player.. How many goal we score from corner this season? Only one. If he go to stoke city he will be top scorer. Believe me

  16. William says:

Quite simple – leave! I am getting fed up of Arsenal players like Chamakh, Arshavin, Fabianski, Mannone complaining about not getting enough game play. When they get their chance they do nothing…..what do they expect! Perhaps if they made better opportunities of the chances they had and gave Mr Wenger a real headache of who to play. At this time there is only one person who is consistent enough to play….RVP. At the end of the day we want the 3 points, we will not accept a draw or lose just to play Chamakh and Arshavin. Harsh? I don’t think so….

its all very well to make a selling list…
with a view to then raise millions to accommodate a buying list

but as we have seen with the hapless Almunia — no queue’s arround the block with any interest to buy

the ‘players’ that we are all aware of as baggage are all sitting on very healthy weekly salaries – and why would you take a pay cut….
therefore any prospective buyer would have to match or better, even if the transfer fee were cut-price
hence the huge number of loan deals

it is rumoured that Man City are paying 100k of Adebayor’s 180k a week
the sorry state of football – a house of cards that is due to crash….got bless Sky

  19. S.H says:

    @ Undisclosed

bendtner 45 goals in 79 starts

    chamakh 13 in 37 starts

Thanks for the stats. Fair enough Bendtner’s goal:match ratio is better but it also reveals he’s had more starts and obviously experience in the EPL, comparative to Chamakh. We forget it’s only been a year for Chamakh as opposed to Bendtner’s 5 years, in 2012. He actually joined Arsenal earlier but as we know loaned to Birmingham. That is 5 years he’s been playing for and managed 45 goals.

So 45/5= 9 goals per year

    Chamakh’s numbers – 13 in the first year so multiplied by 5 times to match Bendtner’s time at Arsenal we get;

    13×5=65

Hence 65 goals for Chamakh vs 45 goals for Bendtner.

We are talking hypothetically, but the logic makes sense. Chamakh just needs more time to adjust. Look at Koscielny! We all wanted him to go until he showed signs of improvement and reliability.

So are you saying you prefer Bendtner over Chamakh? Bendtner had a lot of opportunities to put big games away and he was the preferred option over chamakh in these important games. Remember last season when bendtner had the break against Barca in the 2nd leg? He could have knocked Barca out and it would have been a huge scalp for Arsenal. But no! As expected it’s Bendtner……what more could we expect?

if RVP does not sign a new contract with AFC and ends up leaving the club(GOD PLEASEvDONT LET THAT HAPPEN!) we should actually keep Chamakh.Remeber when RVP was out at the start of last season. He was a good goalscorer. without worrying about RVP i think he will be a good goalscorer again.

  24. shepherd says:

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Chamakh is no RVP but he can head the ball. Why dont we play him with wingers that can cross the ball in and see what he does before we write him off? His stats were excellent before RVP returned last season then the team formation changed to suit RVP and since then he has been rubbish.
