Chelsea could hijack Arsenal transfer of Turan!
There have been reports and rumours coming from Spain and Turkey about the Athletico Madrid player Arda Turan agreeing terms with Arsenal about his transfer in January. They mat have been premature, however, as Chelsea have entered the race, apparently, and are willing to pay the full value of the release clause in the Turkish international’s contract, according to the Spanish newspaper AS.
Turan has a clause in his contract that means Athletico Madrid must sell if another club is willing to pay €24 million, but Arsenal were hoping to get the 25-year old winger for less than that. If Chelsea do agree to pay that, Athletico would have doubled what they paid Galatasaray for him last summer.
One thing that might cause the player to think twice about signing up with Rafa Benitez is the failure of Chelsea to progress from the group stages of the Champions league. Turan is desperate to play in the competition, which he would be able to do this season if he joined the Gunners.
It does seem, however, that Wenger will have to spend more money than he had planned to if he is determined to make Turan an Arsenal player in January.

Relax guys. These are all rumours. 24 hours ago, chelsea supposedly hijacked the demba ba deal. Well, have they signed him yet? Chelsea is overflowing with wide men. Moses, hazard, marin etc. How many players can they field? Marko Marin cannot even get playing time and they want to sign more players? There is no need to panic yet. If we are going to sign players in this window, I expect solid signings. It is even possible that turan is a smoke screen and that the player we really want is adrian lopez. What are the chances of us signing two players from one club with release clauses worth around 15 million pounds each? That is unlikely. If we are to get anything from athletico, my money is on lopez.

the funny thing is that arsenal scout some good players while others end up signing them take for instance the likes of ben-arfa,cabaye,papiss cisse they were all first linked with arsenal i had never heard of cisse before the frnech media linked us with him but newcastle ended up signing same for marko marin/hazard we scouted hazard in 2009 when he was available for 6-8m even gareth bale /bale was a gooner & wanted to join us but wenger insisted with clichy

I’m tired of seeing reports speculating us with players and later then sign by another clubside. Juan mata, eden hazard, jan vertoghen, mamadou niang, cristiano ronaldo, zlatan ibrahimovic, yaya toure are onetime suppose to be a gunner but due to our slow approach during the transfer and stinginess of our manager always enable others to come in and sign this players. Arda turan should be signed with immediate effect .

I think this is bullshit! It’s the press again, creating stories from nowhere! I’m sure Chelsea have not made any attempts to sign Turan, and, if Arsenal were really interested in him and they happened to drop their interest, the Chelsea interest would disappear at the same time.

Why play cazola out of position? Arshavin all over again. There’s no harm in having a strong bench. A couple of experienced players (28 years oldish) the talent coming out of arsenal at the moment is unreal. Gnarby, eisfield, miguel etc I want to see them promoted. I think zaha in gervinho out. CB situation is fine djourou is a decent 4th CB.

I don’t doubt that Chelsea could hijack the transfer but they couldn’t need him less. I hope, AW’s priority in January is to get Walcott to commit, bring in a quality striker Llorente, Ba, Adrian Lopez, etc. and sign a LB (Shaw looks likely). There is news of Diaby returning to training while Arteta and Wilshere are running the Arsenal engine room really well. So maybe signing a DM could be postponed till the summer. I would love to see Arsenal play against the weaker sides at least with two strikers upfront.

Che always seem to look at a player a couple of weeks after we have taken a look, ever since they beat us to Drogbas Lampards signatures they have taken it much too far by signing up midfielders who would have been wearing Gunners jerseys if Abramovic had never been born
Manc spu and recently eve (Moyes i give the benefit of doubt to) are targetting players known to peak our interests, there is the hole world of footballers to choose from, so the likelyhood of ourselves and themselves having numerous target players on the same list each season i find very odd and most unlikely
