Chelsea v Arsenal team news – Walcott and Bendtner in, Vela and Eduardo out, Diaby is a maybe….
Arsene Wenger has been talking about the possible team news for the massive clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and he has some good news and some bad news.
Considering Arsenal’s ongoing injury problems, this weeks news doesn’t seem as bad as usual, especially now that Nicklas Bendtner has got a couple of games under his belt.
The Danish striker is confident that he will be able to have a big impact in the coming weeks, and says the team has been missing his qualities in attack.
“We didn’t get going against Manchester United but now we get another chance on Sunday which we must take 100 per cent,” he said.
“We’ve still got a chance if we win that match. If not? Well, then it’s hard to say how it will develop.
“I’ve played two games because there haven’t been other strikers available, so we took a bit of a chance with my fitness.
“But when I get back to full strength, I’ll be able to make a major impact.
“We have different types of striker who can do different things, and I think the team has missed a type like me.”
Wenger is also pleased that Sol Campbell will be available, and Theo Walcott is also ready to support Bendtner in attack.
The French manager is still unsure whether Abou Diaby will make the squad this weekend.
“Diaby is not yet back in normal training,” Wenger said. “He progresses very well but we will still have to wait until Saturday. He is a maybe. Campbell is back in squad, Eduardo is already ruled out.
“We still have Carlos Vela out too. Apart from that there are no more changes from last Sunday. Theo is back and available. Diaby is the question mark we have. All the others are longer term injuries.”
With Walcott and Bendtner back in the team, this will allow Andrei Arshavin to return to his usual role of playmaker, and if Diaby could instantly return to his fantastic form he had before his injury, perhaps Arsenal really could cause a shock at the Bridge?

We all pray that Diaby is going to return and play a his best. This is because when he plays well the team generally does well. With him and alex protecing the back line, Cesc could attach with a venom. This is my preferred formation, given our injury situation.

Almunia is a joke. Fabianski I have serious doubts as to whether he can make it. Yet despite what many think we don’t need to buy. Mannone should be our No. 1 but I truly believe that Sczyney will be the best of the lot.
Song and Diaby are the bad boys of this team.
Clichy is out of sorts and has been for a long time. I already believe that Gibbs and Traore are better in many ways and I can’t see how Clichy has been any better defensively.
Walcott isn’t a starter but a super sub. His pace and energy is gonna hurt opponents in the last half hour. This shouldn’t be seen as negative aspect of the boy, in fact, I believe he can be a far more deadly weapon if deployed later in a game.
LOL banters……lets just wait till sunday, Arsene is at training, not any of us, he knows who is fit…but i sometimes doubt his tactics.

yes ,have to agree that walcott and denilson have really been poor this season whilst lads like vela have failed to step up with eduardo surely lacking pace and sharpness in the box.van persie has been badly missed whilst injuties havent allowed bendtner to show what he can do.Nic “rod stewart” bendtner has his chance to show his mettle and i do hope he seizes it.clinchy is rusty and has been badly exposed of late and might benefit having a pacy winger playing in front of him to stop ivanovic joining the attack and exposing him.Almunia is a poor goalkeepr and wouldnt mind seing fabianski play who can only get better wih more games under his belt.were jens lehmann still aroound,would pick him any day ahead of the jittery almunia.

play walcott the frontman….playing him on the wing is useless cos he cant crosss and doesnt have the creativity as yet…..but playin as the frontman will do him loads of good cos hes got pace and he can finish as well……i dont think bendy is cut out for the frontman role no pace and he cant finsh very well……has wenger ever tried walcott as the frontman??….never…..how abt givin him a try u neva noe

We have Campbell available I forgot, he would be awesome partnering either Gallas or Vermaelen. Also Vermaelen’s left-footed and his attacking tendencies lend him very well to the left back role – more so than Clichy.
