Could Chamakh choose Juventus over Arsenal?
The Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh was forced to stay at Bordeaux for the last year of his contract but he has always made it clear that he will definitely be a free agent next summer, and his favoured destination was always to join Arsenal.
He slammed Bordeaux when they refused Arsenal’s bid of £6m when the club valued him at £12m, even though he was in his final year.
He said: “Going to Arsenal is my dream,”
“I am at the end of my contract and the club want to turn this into a money issue. What the club are asking for is not fair.
“I am angry. I am even disgusted. I don’t understand why people are doing this to me. Ever since I’ve played football, I’ve given my all for this club and for the fans. I believe I deserve more consideration.”
He added a few days later: ”As much as I managed to understand the attitude of the club about refusing Sunderland, I was surprised there hadn’t been an arrangement with Arsenal, even if it was a small offer. It is Arsenal after all,”
Wenger seemed happy to wait until this summer to get his man for nothing. He ventured: “In five months, if he doesn’t prolong his contract, Chamakh will be free to talk to any club and Bordeaux won’t get anything. In the current context, to me, it is over.
“I like Chamakh, he is a forward that attracts me, but I have Walcott, Bendtner, Van Persie, Arshavin and Eduardo. I am in no rush.”
But now it appears that Juventus have decided to join in the competition, and Chamakh’s agent is sure to engage all the interested parties in a bidding war for his client, and he should be able to command very high wages wherever he goes as there will be no transfer fee involved.
Chamakh has started the new season in great form, scoring three goals in the first five games, and it has been reported that his agent remained in Turin to talk to Juventus after Bordeaux secured a 1-1 draw there in the Champions League in midweek.
Juventus are looking to replace David Trezeguet, who is expected to retire at the end of this season, and Chamakh has impressed them this season.
Chamakh did nothing to dispel the rumours that he may change his mind when he told the press: “Juve are a great team. So they’re looking for an heir to Trezeguet? The idea of playing in Turin fascinates me.”
Obviously the player will be trying to secure a good deal wherever he decides to go, so the more interest the better as far as he is concerned.
But what happened to his “dream” of playing for Arsenal?

wenger will buy him in january 2m should do it…
If Chamakh choose Juventus over Arsenal put the blames on Asene wenger.Arsenal need’s a striker who is tall, good in air, speedy and have eye for goal and chamakh is one of does striker,RVP needs a goods strike to pair him up front.Arsenal loose the service of Fillipo Melo to Juventus now Chamakh.Arsenal needs this guy and this guy loves Arsenal. So let wait and see
Is he what we need. My faith in Eduardo remains. Eddie will be banging them in soon, He’ll score at least 10 poached goals in the box, score at least 5 set pieces and score about 10 from open play. The guy is easily the most lethal striker in the Premiership and when he finds his form and confidence, the goals will flow. Remember he scored something like 46 goals in his last season before joining us. Remember he proved himself the true fox in the box just prior to Martin Taylor’s crippling tackle.
some fans r just pathetic, they became like stan collymore and co when they say that u have to spend fortunes 4 this and 4 that and in the mean time talking about fc porto and considering them as the perfect club the english should take example from economic wise.buy cheap from south america wish is their favorite destination and sell big to the others.
arsenal need this striker he is tall and good in the air he will score so many goall he is a proper sriker thank
who cares abt him!we aint need him.we need the arleady proven strikers lyk david villa and luis fabiano not him.
dudu already scored 3 goals in 4 or 5 games why do we need another average striker and bendtner is really coming good
He is going to Juventus i can bet on that the treatment he got from Bordeaux was ridiculous but what Wengerowed was that he doesnt really hold him in that high reagrd…um jus saying if I were him i would gt Juve coz he goes pretty much straight into the team where as with us it could be problematic as well as the fact that well we kinda toyed with the whole thing
yeah, sneaky feeling he might go to juve. we always lose out on the good ones to other clubss (cech, ronaldo, ibrahimovic, etc.).
but even if we get him, i’m not so sure of his personality, as much as i am impressed by his raw abilities having watched him play. he looks like he has got everything – speed, skill, height, strength, intelligence, bravery and confidence. though not all fully developed, AW can do something avt tt. anyway, his personality seems flimsy to me, too glory-hungry and controversial. is he gonna run off once a bigger club comes calling like anelka, or when more money is thrown to him like adebastardwhore. i hate those players. if onlymore were like bobby pires and bergkamp. easily 2 of the best in their prime, yet undying in their loyalty to arsenal. i love those guys.
Edurado is worth 10 of him.
bring chamakh immediately,we running out patiance,no chamakh no goals.
wenger!failure to buy him UEFA imposes a transfer ban on arsenal TILL 2013.with fab+vp+arshavin+rosi all gone to madrid, mancity n barca what you gonna do coach?
He can go to Juve if he wants and if he goes to Juv, it then means he is only after money.
Who cares anyway? We have Eduardo, RVP, Bendtner, Jay Simpson, Vela and Walcot who can play as strikers.
What we need is a solid CB and a goalkeeper.
i agree let him go to juventus if thats what he wants and they wanna pay a couple millions of quid this january, even if he goes for free in the summer he can still go to juve, we dont need him, as eduardo continues to gain match fitness he will be worked into the starting line up, give him a full 90 and he will light the goal up. i hope arsene strengthens with 1 more solid DB and as all of us im sure agree a CM to partner with Cesc, i know song and denilson are stepping up better this year and they still have a lot of potential but we could use a guy a few years older with strong leadership that can patrol the midfield.
LETS GO GOONERS!!!!!!!!!
