Daniel Agger linked with Arsenal switch
Reports in the media suggest that Arsenal are chasing the signature of want-away Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.
Liverpool have been in shocking form this season and manager Roy Hodgson may not even make it though the next 24 hours as manager after a humiliating defeat away at Blackburn has piled even more misery onto him, the fans and the players.
Agger is said to be seeking a fresh start after getting disillusioned with the direction of this Liverpool team and his form has suffered as a result. With Arsenal being aware of his situation, it is more than possible that Wenger may swoop if the injury to Thomas Vermaelen doesn’t clear up before the end of the transfer window. Speaking on Tuesday the manager said:
“At the moment everyone at the Club looks positive but I will have to make a decision before the end of January.”
“I wouldn’t like to give you a name but if Thomas doesn’t improve we will have to look at [the whole situation].”
With Liverpool willing to cash in on Agger, he hit out at the manager for not playing him more:
“I still have three years on my contract but it’s not me who decides if I’m playing. But, if I’m not playing and I’m not injured, I have no reason to be here. I’m 26 and I feel I can play regularly at this level at this club.
“So if I’m not going to play and be on the bench for a while, obviously I’m not interested in being here. Then I must see what options I have.”
Agger has made 125 appearances for Liverpool since signing for them inJanuary 2006 from Brøndby, the sum of money is said to be more than £5 million and if Liverpool agree to let him go this January the 26 year old will command a much bigger fee.

what Arsenal really need now is a striker with force and skill like Eden Hazard we need to buy players who can score goals or who can worry any defenders in the premiership Eden Hazard and Samir Nasri in Arsenal watch out for them .. Arsene Wenger need to look for this area most please just sign this guy he is good enough for Arsenal team

Agger Is A brillant defender, and very alike V. He could be a very interesting figure at the squad, his offensive and knows where the goal is. He is something between Sebastian and V. Don´t hesitate Wenger this Viking is worth the money

i don’t think we will buy a defender who is unhappy with not getting enough playing time AND who would not be a regular starter for Arsenal. At least I don’t expect him to start regularly once Verm gets back (knock on wood this season).

Agger to me is not the type of defender arsenal want. Samba is a typical and world class defender who can die for a team like arsenal. We should take a chance and lure him to ashburton groove.

did anyone try those mc ds festive pies over christmas, yummy!!!!!!!! ps, all we need is vermalen back soon, but apart from a OCCATIONAL stuttering forward line, to me, arsenal look Flippin great, and even if big v takes a while longer to return, all the better for johan d, who is looking better and better by the game. last thought, i have to agree, i would love ed hazard, just the young massively exciting talent gunners have been waiting for sice wishing we had signed ronaldo when had the chance! good on real arsenal fans that know what they r talking about, and to the rest thatjust want to whinge and moan, go support west ham!
