David Dein – “Arsene Has Unfinished Business”
David Dein is the man that brought Arsene Wenger to Arsenal all those years ago, and he has been speaking out in defence of the manager in the wake of the 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford and has urged everybody connected with the club to back him.
Dein said, “Arsene has unfinished business at the club. Fans should give him the respect that he deserves for what he has done. Under Arsene, they’ve had very good times and there’s no reason to expect why we shouldn’t see them again.
Dein went on to say, “People talk about, ‘Has his time finished at the club?’ That’s a very dangerous thing to say because it’s easy to get rid of people and then what? I can understand the worry as the expectation level is so high and Arsene has brought such success. In each one of the 15 years we’ve been in the Champions League. So you can understand fans feel frustrated that they haven’t seen a trophy for a few years.”
Dein finished off by saying, “I do regret not working on a daily basis with Arsene. We had that special chemistry that worked for 11 years.”
Well said Mr Dein I couldn’t agree more. I think the majority of people on this site are in favour of Arsene staying at the club, though there are a few that think he should go. Now is the time for the bickering and calls for the manager to go to stop. We should all now be backing the management and the team 100% and our season starts on Saturday against Swansea City. Come on you Gunners!

it’s not him but gazidiz n kroenke we want gone, n 4 u n usmanov to takeover, the ONLY things i hate about arsene r that he never apologises or ACKNOWLEDGES that he was wrong n he gives an excuse 4 EVERYTHING, he also lies all the time, nn he can never se the cracks that every gunner n his dog can until they become massive holes but i do appreciate arsene 4 EVERYTHING the good n the bad things his done that’s y 4 THIS SEASON ONLY, I n WE should give him the benefit of the doubt n back him n more importantly the team 100% but if we finish below 4th n without any silverware their WILL be a rise n rebellion of anti-AKB’s

Not at all, i don’t think any of the fans wanted Wenger to go. All they are asking is new signing so that we don’t have to regret loosing title-after-title because we didn’t sign two to three players during the last two january transfers. Wenger didn’t want to bring in reinforcement this time around either…until the reality check at Old Trafford.
So, all he has to do is keep the fans happy by changing the oil once a year. It looks OK now.

Wenger, to me is the world best coach. Give him Blackburn, and he will take them to the Champions League
. But, he needs to push some more. That is the quality that makes Morinho supposedly special. The tale of ‘The Invicible’ is still a legend yet to be cracked. For Arsene, I am proud to be a Gooner. Cheers!

it dien right but what fans got to accept is that thier been a war going on in the board room at arsenal, it been going on for 6 or 7 years, you got hill wood and old etonian who clinging on for dear life to his chairman ship, you kronke, who show his only interset is the money he can make out off arsenal, usmanov who though i not want see him soley in charge off club like kronke,is fighting to be on the board, which i think should happen mainly because he will be like dein forceing the board to spend money.
once the fighting stops only then will wenger be able to really re build this club.
i would like see hill wood out, at 80odd he’s had his time ,even his dad dennis retired from the post, why can’t peter
i like to see kronke and usmanov join to gether (lol, yeah never will happen i know) with usmanov as chairman dein re instated as asst chairman (in charge off transfers and contracts) glazadis sacked, hung, and quartered.
as much as i love the traditions at arsenal, it time to change, its time to make new traditions, it time for the board to make a new arsenal to go with our new stadium.

1 more thing i 4got 2 mention is that he has left us to accept that it is okay 2 be mediocre n pay the highest ticket prices in the world, n if arsenal does fail this season i want these people gone in this order 1st. Gazidis, 2nd kroenke, tied 3rd Pat rice n whoever is in charge of that HORRIBLE medical staff, 5th Defensive coach n 5th if need be so help us god, we will take out Arsene Wenger
so it’s make or break assholes
gunner till i die

wenger out…. that MUFC result was worse than a 3rd division team could expect … NOT AFC ! all you wenger loving fools are delusional… hes paid £6.5mln a year to lose. not to buy and not to reinvest and has had NO pressure.
finally the pressure comes and so does a battering my the scum followed by a 4 year contact to arteta in the last min of the window when we all knew cesc and nasri were leaving 6 months ago.
please, all you wenger loving fools go and support another club thats happy to keep making the same mistakes and lose again and again. just follow him when hes forced out at the end of this season.
this will be his last – and THANK GOD !

All it is with people is they are making their choice Wenger or Arsenal. At the end of the day everyone will make this choice, some are just making it earlier than others. For 15 years the choice has been Wenger and Arsenal, now some are considering another option. For me i give him till December 2011, to show me my club is competing. If we are in touch in all 4 competitions, just like last season then fine, he will have till May 2012 to bring home a trophy. Failure to prove that? then i am afraid my choice will become Arsenal NOT Wenger.

can’t believe how negative fans are at arsenal, all this arteta not the same player as before his injury,(have you all forgotten about pires, and lungberge, both had serious injuries and both were’t the players they once were, both lost some off thier pace, yet both went on to win trophies at arsenal still),all this wenger panick brought players, all this if we win nothing this season(which lets face it is a given)we must sack the board lol like we could, must sack wenger and rice (lol dispite the fact he already said he retiring)and oh we not won a trophy for 6 years boo hoo,how negative can you lot be no wonder players wanted to leave this misabley supported club, who wants to play for a club where the fans no matter what happens whinge, boo thier own team, you should be ashamed.
wengers tarnasfer this summer have been very good, lets look at them….
arteta, mersacker, santos, benyourn, all four have captain a team at club or international level,so we’ll have plenty off leadership on the park and in the dressing room, all 4 will bring in experience to the squad, will help develop the younger players like ramsey, wilshere, frimpong, conquin, and jenkinson(who been brilliant so far,yet only cost a million)
gibbs, and even the talented gervinho.
arteta and benyourn will give us a slightly different
approach, will toughern us up a bit,and get us in to better positions(especially mersacker in defence),we got 3 players who can take free kicks corners and shoot from distance.
we got gervinho who in time will settle and get better and better.chamberlain who will soon bring in more pace and very soon. jenkenson i have already said been a real find, will grow in convidence with per mersacker and vermaleen along side him in training and games.
young if he can hit the ground running could be centre forward we.ve needed for some time, looks good in the air and with the ball at his feet, quick and tricky, could be a real gem.
then thiers frimpong ok not a new signing but is like one, so far look excellent if not inmature, but is big and strong and looks like he’ll walk through walls for us,he just looks solid muscle again a player we’ve missed in mifield for some time.
so yes arteta will get injured sometime in the season so will benayourn yet with them around the training ground ,what vital experience and encouragement they can teach the wilsheres and ramseys at the club.

@ bob what a thick idiot you really are, how many teams in cluding man city and chelsea can go to man utd with 8 players missing ? and have to play against a side where the referee has on 2 other occassions has sent off arsenal players and give a penalty against us.
and even with the team we put out we still got two goals, who would scored one goal at man utd this season ? it won’t be many.
supporters like you we don’t need, your a small minded fool who probably probs up the bar at your local and don’t know where the stadium is, with the sun newspaper sticking out off your sagging jeans

If Wenger never made those last minute signings, trust me this would have been his last season. His expiry date just got extended. I am one of those who had a lot to say about his policy and managerial skills of late, but I think perhaps the man has finally woken up and smelled the coffee. Humble pie all around. So yes I agree we need to back him up and support the boys more now than ever, everyone deserves a second chance and if it wasn’t for the increased legacy he has brought to Arsenal, compassion would have fallen by the wayside. Back tracking we have been in the top four the past couple of seasons…hats off to him, and we lost crucial games from SILLY mistakes that cost us trophies. With a bolstered defense and quality subs this season I think we have every right to think we will be in the top 4 again and even win it. Ok we lost Fabregas and Nasri – but we gained Santos, Mertesacker, Gervinho, Miyachi, Chu-Young, AOC, Arteta and Benayoun (And Verminator is back!). We also have gotten rid of deadwood. In all we have a much stronger and competitive squad. Time to do some damage.

I for one would like to see Wenger and Dein back together and a conserted effort made to sign Hazard in the January.
With such a lift in confidence on and off the field a new spirit will arise, I promise you.

In life , u can never please everyone, and everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. No matter what wenger or the board does you will get mixed opinions and reaction. But my opinion is that all supporters of afc should get behind the team fully and make our judgements at the end of the season. The team need us

Dear Dein,
What you are saying is Ok. However, we need to agree that Arsenal is much bigger than any of its officials. It will live beyond any of its official. You left and Arsenal is still going on. To think that Wenger is irreplaceable is simply a fundamental error of judgement. The world is not static.
As a friend to Wenger as you seem to suggest, instead of blackmail/deceiving him, which has always ended up hoodwiking him, i would suggest you carry out a proper assessment of his strength and weakness, then advise him accordingly.
Arsenal have had a history of having patient fans. When you see fans starting to challenge Wenger’s approach, there must be some reason. Instead of jumping into defensive gear, look at the situation critically.I strongly believe you are in a position to know the truth.
Six trophyless years, poor participation in the transfer market, consant lies, unreliable conduct, conflicting statement and actions from senior club officials, selfish attitude among senior club officials, failure to listen to positive critisms, failure to take timely decisions, arrogance, lack of courtesy to apologise where he has gone wrong,childish/lame excuses etc are a danger to the club and generate alot of anger that solutions.

Am not one that writes but more of one that drops in everyday a couple of times well fairly regularly to check changes on the site and get updates. I sort of like enjoy going through the comments on every post. However I thought I should leave a comment today to try put some light on some of the shady and confusing realities.
I think what Dein is saying is that with the budget we have as a club, fire Wenger today and we are as good as fu**ed!!!. Its funny to hear fellow gooners arguing and even more worrying starting to believe we are not competitive any more as a club. On the contrary I think we are very competitive. We finish every season top 4 and have a run at all fronts for the silverwares. We have not been winning in recent years but we have been very competitive else we’d be relegated or fighting it year in year out. We know for a fact the owner of our club is not the likes of the abronovichs and with or without Wenger we also know that Kronke is not going to take out a loan to buy and fund player’s wages. Well from all I have read about this guy, the catalyst to his investment in Arsenal is the self sustaining model the club practice, not the love for football or arsenal. Last season we almost did it. Weather u think we are competitive or not even Sir Alex at some point last season was already taking us more seriously than he would have imagined. So my point is we are up there and we have few new muscles we have added and the younger ones breaking into the first team, we are way better, stronger and will go further than last season. So back to Dein’s view, with the amount of money available to Wenger, it is a miracle we are up there year in year out in top 4 while the likes of spurs, everton etc can only dream of it. So Wenger has been able to deliver the very best possible with the amount Arsenal has to spend(Mind you Wenger can only spend what is available to him as a manager, he is not the owner). Any other big manager might do better than Wenger some day but even the most extreme Wenger critics including the media knows for a fact that for that to happen, the Arsenal board and owner must make loads of millions more available to whoever gets the job just to be able to do what Wenger is already doing with a pathetic budget. So the question is, how well do you think Wenger would do if he had the sort of money ManU, Chelsea, liverpool n city has. Also don’t forget to try answer the question of if Wenger leaves today and this same model continues, do we have a manager that can use the youth system and the current Arsenal budget to keep us at the top? Cos the way I see it, telling Carl to play left back cos we are short is same as telling Wenger to bring us the CL, EPL etc titles with the slim budget n youth system. The Man deserves our appreciation. Gooner4life
