Diaby is hungry and confident about Arsenal
Arsenal’s French international midfielder Abou Diaby has not had it easy in the last two years, but is desperate to put that behind him and drive Arsenal to glory this season. He is confident that he can form part of a devastating midfield for the Gunners this season.
Diaby is relishing the chance to play alongside Mikel Arteta, after injuries meant that he only appeared in four league games last season. The 26-year old was greatly impressed at Arteta’s contribution to the Arsenal midfield after his move from Everton, and believes that they will work well together. It remains to be seen how Arsene Wenger will line up the Arsenal midfield, but Diaby has his own ideas on that score.
“I personally prefer to play with three midfielders, because I can go forward and I can also defend. I think it is the position that suits me best.”
Diaby, Fabregas and Alex Song were fantastic as a midfield trio, but his last two seasons have been really frustrating as he could not seem to keep free from injury long enough to get his good form back. So far this summer he is looking good and will only improve with time and match play.
“The only thing we love is to play football, and seeing your team mates play every weekend while you are on the bench is quite hard…First of all it does affect you physically because you cannot play, and, I have to say, mentally as well because it is hard.”
Hopefully he can stay fit and take his opportunity to become an indispensable part of the Gunners next generation. Diaby,Song,Arteta, Ramsey and Wilshere in the middle, with Walcott, The Ox, Podolski and Cazorla marauding down the wing should make mincemeat out of most teams. I don’t think we really need Nuri Sahin, but it will only be a loan deal if he does come.

He was Dortmunds best player 2 seasons ago and has immense talent, better than Ramsey, Diaby etc and will ease Wilshere back in as well

He managed 10 games for Madrid last year after picking up a nasty injury before the season started and then having to try and break into the Madrid team is almost impossible
The season before that he was at Dortmund and started in 30 games!

He couldnt get in the madrid team the same team kaka cant get into their midfield is ronaldo khedira,ozil,alonso and di maria. He would have got alot more game time had he not suffered injury. He was outstanding for dortmund and had his pick of teams when he left choosing madrid.

Look at last year, when Arteta was injured and out of the side we lost almost every game
The midfielders youve listed where relied on too much which caused fatigue and injury’s, theres no harm in a loan seeing as it wont cost much if anything
Arteta – Played almost every game and carried the team sometimes in his first season with us
Song – Great season but was relied on to attack as well as defend which didnt help in conceding goals
Diaby – Out all season and has a torrid injury record, he shouldnt be expected to play 30+ games
Rosicky – Again great season, always knew he had it in him, but is getting old, he will need resting and rotating to prevent injurys
Ramsey – Looked tired in every game he played, an awful season for him by his standards and potential, he needs rotating so he can gradually gain fitness and form
Landsbury – Who knows if he will cut it, hes fairly old for someone to be coming through the ranks and breaking in to the team, im not really sold on him to be honest, doesnt seem to be good enough for a title challenging team
Eisfield – Great pre-season and looks a real talent, will take time to adapt to the PL though and is un tested in the league, its one thing playing agains Malaysia XI, its another against United at Old Trafford
Frimpong – Great talent, awful injury, will need a lot of time to gain fitness and probably wont play much next season
Coquelin – Very good talent, brilliant at RB last year but again you dont want to put the pressure of such a pivitol role on someone so young, look at what that done to Wilshere, put him out for a season with an injury he picked up whilst fatigued
Yennaris – Could well play RB as much as CM, again very young and wont play much, dont be suprised to see him go out on loan
Cazorla – Lastly Cazorla who will probably occupie the CF role or the wing
Now I know that was extremley long so if you read through it, pat yourself on the back
My point is though, we need strength in depth and thats what he will offer us
If there are too many then he will just return to Madrid after a season with us, it cant do any harm

we arent buying sahin right now it is very rare a player of this ability is available on loan im sure if an equivilent talented defender was available on loan we would snap him up. Also if we had to buy sahin we wouldnt be in for him but take him on loan with option to buy next year depending on performances is perfect!!

I think that m’villa is more of a priority than sahin but the difference is that sahin on loan is not going to cost us where as m’villa would add to the cost of giroud ,podolski and probably cazoroa also. So sahin seems like more of a realistic option.

Sahin will add a great balance as well to the team
He is brilliant at breaking up the play just as much as creating chacnes, very much like Alonso in my opinion

Lansbury, Eisfeld, Frimpong, Coquelin and Yennaris are too young to win us leagues and champions leagues right now.
Diaby and Rosicky are extremely injury prone so cangt be relied on too much. Nobody knows how Wilshere will be when he returns (will he be injury prone)
Thats leaves us with Song and Arteta as our deeper midfielders and Cazorla and Ramsey as our more attacking midfielders
We do need Sahin atleast on a short term basis, untill we know if Diaby, Wilshere and Rosicky are going to be fine

why do you think podolski will play on the wing? he is a deadly strong striker. plying up top or along side giroud/rvp. he would be wasted on the wing. maybe in afew games here and there. ox, gervinho, cazorla, ryo and walcott will be on wings. i do think walcott should be played in a top 2 sometimes. he pace will rip teaams apart, like henry.

I don’t see the problem with us getting Cazorla & Sahin. 1. Rosicky & Arteta are in their 30s & won’t be around forever, and Sahin is young. 2. We cannot say how many matches Wilshere & Diaby will be fit for with any certainty. 3. Ramsey, Coquelin & Frimpong are not nearly the finished article as yet. 4. Song/Frimpong to the African Nations Cup. – It is just having a strong squad for now and the future.

Assuming that Wenger plays 3 in central midfield, when everyone is fit it’s a battle between Song, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Diaby, Rosicky, Coqeulin, Frimpong and also Cazorla and Sahin if/when they sign. That’s TEN players fighting for THREE places! Now that’s what i call strength in depth!!!

Assuming Cazorla/Sahin sign and Wilshere, Rosicky and Frimpong are injured, for the first game v Sunderland my central midfield three would be Arteta, Cazorla and Sahin. Yes i know i’ve left Song out but i feel all this speculation regarding Barcelona’s interest in him might make him lose his focus a bit. But then again Arsene Wenger sees how they perform in training every day and as the famous saying goes….. ARSENE KNOWS BEST!

We need to get players out why is bendtner still arsenal player, maybe sell arsharvin squid must go park and Chamahk as well, we ruined park should of let him go to Lille, loan out miquel or Bartley, loan yennaris eisfield aneke, get Walcotts extension done and hopefully van persies and songs to keep team morale strong, wrap up cazorla sahin and maybe m’vila deals, so much to do still!!! An initial fee of £16m possibly rising to £20m, signed a 70k a week contract

Yo i still dont understand how arsenal will play next season.. Cuz we got many people in midfield now… 4 3 3 wont fit in and 2 stikers both left footers and not very fast.. We all know giroud came to relace vn persie and hes most likely staying.. Giroud cme to be in 1st team starting 11 not in bench now we got cazorla and podolski that came to be also in starting 11 and I dont think taking out walcott or gervinho out will be the bes idea since they are the pace of arsenal and key in many of arsenal moves… Then we got diaby oxlade wilshere arshavin and some more .. In the bench and now if we sign sahin that will be the craziest thing of the year! We already got arteta song ramsey diaby wilshere in the midfield and i unfortunaly feel we are not ready for new season..
