Does Nasri realise by now that he should have stayed at Arsenal?
After 224 seconds into his Arsenal debut, Samir Nasri had already opened his Arsenal account with a simple tap in from a pass from Denilson. One of the best talents ever to be discovered by Arsene Wenger from France, Nasri was playing the football of his life. In his first season, he won over the Arsenal fans after netting a brace against Man United, earning a victory for the team. He continued his good run of form for the team, covering up for Cesc Fabregas in the 2008/2009 season when Cesc was out injured. In his final season with the club, Nasri managed to find the net 15 times, notching up 5 assists for the team.
Everyone thought that Nasri’s future would be at Arsenal as he slowly earned the trust and respect of his fans, teammates and Arsene Wenger. However, Nasri was entering the last moments in his contract. Arsenal had a lot of interest in renewing Nasri’s contract and to prolong his stay at Arsenal, continuing the honeymoon period.
However, Nasri wanted a higher pay. Arsenal though were not very willing to splash the cash on keeping him. We were going to give him a higher pay but not his desired amount. Thus, Nasri was unhappy and this led to his move to Manchester City.
Honestly, I would have preferred Nasri to stay as his skills and ability would definitely be essential to the team’s push to end our dreaded trophy drought. However, his performances at Man City are below par anyway. No point keeping a player when his heart is not going to be at the club just like Hleb and Flamini, and we all know what happened (or didn’t happen!) to them.
A player like Nasri refused to work together with the team and put in effort to reach the top by his own willpower. Instead, he would rather jump ship to another club where he is assured “cash and glory.”
If I was Samir Nasri, I would not have left. At Arsenal, he was a top player earning respect. At City, is just another squad player…….

I think he regrets leaving arsenal as he is not in as good form and people are starting to forget about him. Most players that leave arsenal for the money dont suceed at their club just look at flamini and hleb. I dont want nasri, flamini or hleb back at arsenal EVER.

what a shame these players left….. Nasri cheated arsenal by leaving . Wenger and the club had put so much time and effort in making him the player he is. Nasri made the worst decision in his life by joining man city. They have no class or history and will replace nasri as soon as someone better comes along. Just look at adebayor. Karma is a bitch .. And ade ane nasri got what they deserve. RVP WE LOVE YOU!!

some players dont realise how much they have got.what more he could have asked for ??? he should have stayed surely as he had been there only for a mere 3yrs.not only he will get more playing time and champions league last 16,but respect from fans and personally as well was in gr8 form.hate players who give up so easily, look at vermaelen and rvp.no doubt it was d ‘money factor’.atleast he should have gone abroad and not threaten to join a rival.
i swear that he and players like ronaldo are having their ‘moments of regret’……. ( remember el-clasico ?how many titles hes won ? not even one )

Why are we even bringing up Nasri, Fabregas, Clichy or any other ex Arsenal player for that matter?
Get over it guys, frankly I don’t give a shit about anyone apart from Arsenal. So if they’re not wearing the red and white of 125 yrs, why bother!
Yeah sure, they were good players and after losing them and seeing some fail, is just karma. But we need to worry about our title hopes, not the fallen hopes of others!!!
Please give me something NEW!!!!

Now tell me which one of you wouldn’t leave your job if you were offered a 200% pay rise from another firm.

In “blogs” on this and other sites before the start of the season and during our pre-season, I begged the Arsenal board, not to let Nasri go. Though he hadn’t shown his previous form, I still felt that he was essential to our push for honours, in this and coming seasons. I was certain that once the new contract was sorted out, he would “knuckle down” and become a leader in our team. This of course didn’t happen and he went for the money and potential glory that the Trillions of $$$’s that Manchester, could offer him. Of course it’s early day’s in the Manshity story but one thing is for sure, he’ll not win the Champions League, this time round. Already he is being used as a “bit player” playing the other day against Arsenal 2nd team. If that was the “glory” he was looking for, that’s up to him but as we have seen before, those who leave the comfort zone of Arsene’s advice and guidance usually end up in a backwater, playing for the equivalent of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. In essence, they forget who made them what they were, dreaming that they can go it alone and become the next Messi or RVP.

Glad Nasri is gone, don’t miss him at all. Like Hleb, Flamini, even Henry moving to a club that is loaded with “stars”, which always means egos. The bigger the paycheck the bigger the ego. They get there and ride the bench, come on as a sub and don’t play with the emotion and chemistry they had being part of a real team instead of a collection of trophy paycheck players. I wouldn’t want to win a trophy with a team when it wasn’t evident to everyone that I was a major part of the team and the reason they won the trophy.
Good riddance and well see where he is playing 2 years from now when he’s tired of not getting enough first team play. I hope it’s a good lesson for Song, RVP and anyone else thinking about these glamour moves to a big spending club.

50percent is because we didn’t pay him what he was “worth” (in the football world) and the other 50percent is we are not showing enough commitment or investment to be title competitors. He went for the fact he will get trophies at City.
No one can blame him. But at the end of it he will realise he will miss being at a proper club where fans sing his name.

Although he had skill, he was powder puff. Between him and Cesc we had no real fight in the midfield. At least now we have players with balls who can take a knock and fight for the ball. Enjoy chasing Silva’s shadow for the rest of your Shity career, also have fun in Europa.

With the mention of adebayor, does anyone else feel its a bit unfair that a striker from a top four club can be loaned to another (potential) top four club. How many points are city effectively taking off other teams. Does’nt seem right to me that a club can send out an asassians of death out like this! How do others feel about this?

A very talented player who didn’t have good advisers to educate him how to make it to the top or probably he neva listened to his advisers cos his best time in Arsenal was suppose to be now seeing that Fab was leaving but he jumped ship for MONETARY reasons but maybe he forgot NOBODY LEFT ARSENAL FOR £€$¥ REASONS AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER…….I SEE ARSENAL WINNING THE EPL COME MAY AND THEN NA$RI WOULD REALISE HIS MISTAKE

@Willie G.City top in the league not because of Nasri.Nasri only a fringe player there. If Nasri said he go there for glory,he can feel that there is no glory for him.Glory for the club yes, but for him no,because he contributes nothing.(Lol).If he go there for money,he get the money for 2-3 years only to be dump by City to the mediocre club that will only pay him a peanut. So at the end,no money and no glory. So in life we have to choose rightly.

@WillyG Yes we do think Arsenal can go all the way. We wouldn’t be Arsenal supporters if we didn’t. Realistically speaking, when we are on form which we are at the moment, we can beat any team. We have quality – RvP, Walcott, Song, Wilshere, Arteta, Vermalaen, Gervinho, Santos, Sagna, Szczesny. I think those players are capable of beating top teams.
Even if City win the BPL, Nasri would probably have only played in a few of those matches. Not much of a contribution is it? And he will have Silva’s shadow to follow pretty much his whole career at City. Don’t know but I wouldn’t feel like too much of a champion if I was a sub most of the season.

Not so sure we miss Nasri who held the ball too long and was not decisive enough. Buying Arteta was master stroke..it is clear he is fully behind the club and will be for the next two or three years. Wilshire is every bit if not better than Nasri and like Arteta he wants to play for the club. Its the team and team spirit that matters..look at Stoke today beating Spurs….they ran themselves to a standstill. Nasri and Fabregas were not interested once they had mafe their minds to leave..Forget them.

He chose money over football. It was entirely his call. I think he should have preferred to play for Arsenal only but he was desperate to increase zeros in his bank account. He is another Adebayor (big traitor) would never settle in one club. Mark my word, will be kicked next season & forced to join a B grade team like Spurs. Good luck Mr.Money Bag

Massively over rated, never warmed to him as an arsenal player. With one or two notable exceptions he went missing in the biggest games. Arsenal are a better team this season without him, city are welcome to him, most city fans were completely indifferent to him signing anyway. He will be moving on at the end of this season again.

He tweeted happy 125th anniversary to Arsenal the other day which was thoughtful, I guess. But he’s gone, he’s not an Arsenal player anymore so who cares about him? Not me.
As far as him regretting his leaving goes: even if Shitty are out of the CL this year, they’ll be there next year, along with us of course.

Nasri would been better off & effective in Arsenal..with our style of play, he fitted in well… he is a good passer of the ball, have eloquent runs to the box area & has a good right foot…In City, he is a loner…. David Silva is playing in his position & he is getting redundant…
Arsenal gave him the space & fame… if he had gone there only for money- he should not complain…
However at Arsenal – he started getting rave reviews with fans behind him…City would have a different culture..perform or perish…which with so much money on the table- is quite ok for the owners to demand…
Nasri – frankly speaking we don’t miss you or for that matter Fabregas that much.. Arteta & Gervinho has filled in the void…my personal rating for Arteta ( at times ) would be much higher than Fab as he takes a hell lot of work-load…both defensively & going forward….

ohhh!!! that boy is still around! I had completely forgotten about him and his greedy ways. This is a good lesson that money is not everything. You can earn as much as Bill Gates but if you are treated like a slave, no amount of money can make you happy. Na$ri might have the money but is he a respected player at $ity? Do the fans idolise him as they did at Arsenal? No and No. these are things that money cant buy but money has bought him a seat on the $ity bench.

He started well at goonerland but faded in the middle of the season………….. This shows that though, he’s a ‘great’ talent, he still needs some ‘wenger’ tutelage if he’ll go on to be a great player- not to talk about being a ‘GREAT’! Now, he missed all that……..my condolences to the poor guy!

to be honest, in EPL fabregas nasri midfield is non-winning combo. they both skillful, but too soft. arteta, ramsey, wilshere etc are stronger, therefore better for EPL. nasri unfortunately came along with improvement in silva’s game, so at least he is choice number 2. and yes, no wenger unfortunately to land him helping hand of understanding, he is all alone there. welcome to real world and city jungles!!!
