Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon both chasing Nicklas Bendtner
According to two leading bookmakers, Bayern Munich are still favourites to sign Nicklas Bendtner, but according to his father it is Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon that are leading the chase right now.
Talking to the Danish Sporten.dk, Thomas Bendtner said: “There is interest from several German clubs for Nicklas and I can confirm that Dortmund are interested in buying him. I can not get into whether there have been negotiations between Dortmund and Nicklas or Dortmund and Arsenal, but just say that Dortmund has approached.”
“I know that Sporting Lisbon have been in touch with Arsenal with a concrete bid for Nicklas, but then I do not know whether Arsenal have rejected or accepted the amount. I have not heard more than that Sporting have bid.”
For me (and many other commentators) I would have thought that Bendtner was much more suited to the German type of play like any other big centre-forward, but I guess the Portugese League is a little easier than the Bundesliga. Perhaps he will score more goals if he goes to Lisbon?

I dont believe that Bendtner wants to go to Sporting. I would like to see him green and white with Lion Symbol on his chest, and he could be very happy representing Sporting Clube de Portugal one of the European greatest teams, if he wants a good carreer Sporting give him that, we created Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Futre, Luis Figo, Nani and others.
Well i do not believe in this news, but if it’s true, we Sporting supporters will ve very happy to welcomme Bendtner. The last dann who plays for Sporting was the “Great Dann” Peter Schemeichel a year after Manchester United reach the Champions League.

I’ve heard we’re on to get Defoe for 16m£
BUT
HERE IS NEWS: ETO’O WANNA MOVE TO premierleague
and the best of all that is you can get him for a bid around 18m£.
He scored 20 goals last season for inter milan.
so 2m£ more than Defoe and many goals from that amazing fighter

I think that Sporting would be the best “next step” in his carreer. He could play more often and score more goals. Later he could return to a even better club, in England, Italy, or Spain.

We could also use him to get either Hummels or Subotic instead of Götze but for Götze is good

It would be ideal if we could do a swap for Eto’o + cash.

Thing is, Bendtners a good player. You lot need to step back and think. Then maybe you’ll realise this isn’t a football manger game. Bendtners our 3RD choice striker, yet you seem to expect 20 goals a season? I hope he leaves, he deserves better. I’m also sick of this Gary Cahill obsession. Have you people seen this guy play? He’s slow, clumsy and massively over priced! The defender Arsenal need is Jan Vertonghen. The mans practically a carbon copy of Vermaelen but with more hight! Honestly, some of the comments on this website are just shal I say…..unique :/

As far as I can tell all clubs have denied making offers. I’m a huge Arsenal fan but have never had any time for Bendtner – he never has and never will be up to Arsenal standard – or of any of the top-flight teams in England, Italy, or Spain. I can’t serously believe Munich would take him – they have better judgement than that. I don’t think Arsenal will be able to offload him for more than 4-5 million. They may even be stuck with him at that price.

Oh and I agree with Sloppy Joe re Cahill – just not good enough. I suspect people that are in favour of that transfer haven’t watched him play enough.
