DVD Winner #2: Arsenal had bad luck but still have issues
Why Arsenal’s season Was Not A Complete Failure by Anthony Armstrong
As the seasons disappointments appear further behind in the distance, perspective of this Arsenal team changes and moulds into a less emotional one. What is clear is that football is sometimes won and lost within the margin of error. Imagine the boost our squad would’ve received if Koscielny and Szczesny had not had that mix up which cost us a goal and ultimately a trophy. Imagine if van Persie wasn’t sent off for taking a shot at goal a split second after the whistle blew. Imagine if in the same game, Bendtner had the assured touch he thinks he has. Imagine if Eboue kept his cool for sixty more seconds. The list goes on.
There is no fundamental flaw in the way this team plays football. Despite criticism and pundits saying they couldn’t do it, Arsenal have proven this season that they can beat the best of the best on their day. Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea, 3 teams probably amongst the top five in the world were all put away. Which is why fans should not worry about other teams strengthening this summer. Is any team going to make a transfer that will improve the squad to the point of surpassing the Barcelona team we beat? Unlikely, for now. We must instead concentrate on our own squad and make that margin of error as slim as possible.
What if van Persie or Vermaelen get injured again? What if we face a team of giant brutes? What if the referee seems out to get us? Do we have the depth to rotate all season in order to keep our best players fresh? These questions plus a few more have to be answered because they are all scribbled in our margin of error at the moment, just waiting to crop up and cost us 3 points. Every player must be analyzed and evaluated to identify the areas that need strengthening and it is likely that this analysis would show that our first XI is incredibly strong, with perhaps the exception of Vermaelen’s partner at the back.
Let’s have a busy summer, add the extra quality we need to do it again next season but with a smaller margin of error. If Wenger is to be believed, that’s exactly what is happening.

I don’t know how to answer you – you don’t seem to be a fool..it seems u r confused about yrself…
Your moronic statements on ” what if ” & ” imagine ” is shockingly naive… in this real world, don’t bask in procastinations – get to see the real fcnk world & get the facts in yr dumb skull …
U would realise that we in Arsenal are 6 yrs w/o a fcnkg trphy… and no amount of ” what ifs ” would change that…
Get a good sleep- may be yr brain would start functioning …. u seem to be overloaded…at times release will help you .. hope u know what I mean …
Cheer up champ …

@Asif
I don’t know how to answer you as you actually do seem to be a fool.
Firstly, I’m not entirely sure you know what “procrastination” means as you seem to have thrown that word into your poorly constructed sentence willy nilly.
Secondly, if you look at the number of points we have dropped after being in strong positions then you will see that we clearly need stronger depth in the squad. That is all I’m saying. Sometimes luck plays a big factor in football. We haven’t gone without a trophy for six years because of bad luck but we can do our best to strengthen and minimize the impact of luck on our season.
I have read and replied to your comments before. As I said last time, you completely undermine any argument you are trying to make by name calling and swearing.

Whether AW likes it or not some players must be offloaded and replaced. Gaps on mid-field, Vermalen partner and RVP partner are highly required and should be strong & experienced ones – no more children this time around. Arsenal team does not belong to AW, if he does not want changes he should then leave the club.
