Eden Hazard cites Arsenal as possible destination – not PSG!
The Belgian wizard Eden Hazard has yet again given Arsenal fans hope that he could yet end up at the Emirates after saying in an interview with Canal+ that he is pretty certain that he will be heading to the Premier League.
Just the other day the Lille midfielder said that he could possibly move to the French Ligue1 giants PSG, but now he says his future lies away from France.
He was quoted as saying: “I have played over 100 Ligue 1 matches, I’m young but I want to know something else. Paris is tempting with the players there now but I prefer to go abroad.
“I think I’m heading to England, the style of play suits me there and I think it’s in this league that I can learn as much.
“We know the great English clubs. It will be a club where I’m sure to play with a play style that suits me.
“I don’t know for which club I’ll sign yet. Manchester, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are all great.”
That is extremely encouraging for Arsenal fans, especially when he said “…where I’m sure to play with a play style that suits me.”
If that isn’t talking about Arsenal, who could it be?

Well none of us really knows what’s going on. That’s what’s so f***ing frustrating. What I would like to believe is that maybe Wenger has it all planned out… We know we had a bid denied in the summer. I don’t think any one knows the amount that Lille turned down from us or any other bid for that matter. Wenger might be trying to get ahead of the market by staying in contact with Lille through out the season, by having tentative descusions on what it will take to get a bid approved. I feel that the roumers we’ve all heard in the last couple of days might be some what accurate in that “25mil+player” might be enough. Especially if its a still Quality winger like walcott. Maybe now Wenger knows that Ox will surpass Walcott and make him surplus. This could very well happen in the summer. We just don’t know what will happen. I know that all this coment is far fetched, but one can hope. Right? Anyways good win today! Up gunners…

That’s about as big a tease as the pretty girl in 7th grade that gave me blue balls. Hazard will have his choice of who he wants to play for and unfortunately his decision will largely depend on the salary that will be offered. We KNOW Arsenal are at a disadvantage when compared to what Chelsea or maybe Man U will offer UNLESS Wenger and the board finally decide to step into this century and break their rigid salary structure FFP be damned.
I’d put Man U in the lead for now. They’re desperate enough to bring Scholes back so we know they’ll spend at the end of the season. They’re doing better than us in the league as well and are guaranteed CL football while we’re struggling to get that #4 spot.
I’ll be as happy as a fat kid in a bakery if we get him but it seems a long shot. Surprise us WENGER! Show RvP your intentions on keeping him and moving this team back into its rightful place by BUYING QUALITY, properly replacing Cesc and Nasri, and get this gem.

FA Cup is a must-win for us. I’m optimistic about the top 4 finish, but it’s starting to slip away. If we win the cup, then we’ll keep RVP, wilshere will be back, rambo will improve, OX will earn a starting position. there’s a good chance we could get Hazard and/or Podolski this summer

That is, only, if we qualify for the Champions League. So I wouldn’t keep my hopes too high for now. Because currently we’re not there.
Let’s hope we will at the end of the season, because if we are in the Champions League, then, Hazard has many very good reasons to come to Arsenal.

Well, I think it all depends if we finish top 4. With no champions league, I think it will be very difficult to sign him. Would Wenger and the board be willing to spend around 30 mil on one player? Hmmm, I hope they would but I’m not sure they will. Let’s see if we can finish top 4 first.

Sadly I think Wenger needs to bid now for him as I see it been very difficult to finish 4th(but still supporting the boys to do it) and then put in a summer bid. I think it’ll help our creativity and perhaps convince RVP to sign.
Speaking of stingy and off this point. Why do we bid 10 mil for non playing Barrios and 8 mil for performing Podolski? Surely that should be the other way around.

We can all see that boy wants τ̲̅ȍ play for Arsenal,but every thing now depends on Monsieur Wenger τ̲̅ȍ dip his hands into that €50 million kitty. I feel €25 mill + a player will be fair deal or probably a €30 mill outright buy. That boy will be a great asset for Arsenal if he eventually comes. I think if we qualify for the CL we will get him. Wenger has been after him for years so is surely likely to spend the amount to enable contract talks. The only trouble is that the wage structure wont allow us to pay anywhere near what city, utd or chelsea can pay. Hopefully hes not a greedy tw** come summer time lol. Hazard & gotze would be pretty good for us next year. A midfield of wilshere, song & gotze would be pretty class.

Hard to see it happening for a start at the price, but the main sticking point shall be Champions League. Can’t see him going to Chelsea or Citeh, United perhaps but not really any of those styles suits him much. Not to mention Chelsea and Citeh in particular wouldn’t show him a great deal of patience like Arsenal or United would. Arsenal and Tottenham at the moment do, but whether we’ll have CL to offer and whether Spurs will have the wages to offer is another thing. Realistically I think he’ll end up at United, unless we make CL and stump up the cash.

He’ll sit on the fence and see who qualifies for CPL. United have Valencia and Young… they need a central midfielder. City haven’t shown much interest (but then again, they can buy for fun), Chelsea would probably go in for him, and Tottenham would if they can afford him. (they said they’re looking for new attacking options).
Basically if we don’t get into the CPL he’ll go else where. Come on Arsenal! Offer Lyon something they can’t refuse now, and let Hazard push our Premier League/FA cup hopes up.

How horrendously stomach turning. I gave up hope of signing Hazard about 6 months ago. I was convinced Real Madrid would sign him, especially with Zidane’s influence.
I am still unconvinced we have the means to sign him, not only the wages that he may demand, but the transfer fee will be quite large.
Our direct competition in the EPL only, is Man utd. Man city (though not being mentioned to sign him, they will certainly look at signing him without doubt. They have the money, and they now have the style) and Chelsea. These three have something Arsenal do not, a wage structure which is non existent. These teams will happily pay 200k a week. These three will be in the CL next season.
I don’t think Tottenham have the means to sign Hazard. Maybe not in transfer fee, but in wages. They cannot afford Adebayour, so they won’t be able to afford Hazard.
As for Arsenal, we will have to make an acception for Hazard to lure him. He must be paid the same if not more than van Persie. Would we offer 200k? absolutely not. We have never offered players anywhere near that number. We have never spent more than 15mil on a player and Hazard could easily fetch twice that amount. Arsenal have a couple of ace’s in that Vermaelen is his cousin, and Gervinho played with him at Lille. But Cheslea have 3 Belgians now, with the imminent arrival of Kevin de Byrne.
I hate this speculation, because it opens a door that seemed shut, but who has the door opened for?
I still don’t rule out Real Madrid signing him….

I’m a realist. This is a “come and get me boys” statement designed to start a bidding war (which there would have been anyway). It was a definite that he would be moving away from France in the summer. He wasn’t going to PSG even if the money was fantastic. He doesn’t want to be in League 1 anymore and the only two premier destinations that would draw his interest and ego are Spain and England. If he goes to Spain we all know it’s either to Real Madrid or Barcelona. I’d think Real the more likely with Zidane as their sporting director and players they could/would easily shuffle to Lille as part of a deal & to make room in their squad (maybe Kaka).
If he comes to England my money says he goes to Man U. or Arsenal. I don’t think it’s all about money for him but I do believe he wants to be paid what he’s worth and that puts us second. I think we have the means to sign him and in that make a statement and change our ways a little. Show RVP we are serious and he will stay. But will LIlle deal with us after we stole Park out from under their pens in August? I know Arsenal really pissed the higher ups off at Lille with that one. We’d definitely be offering them up some money + Chamakh/Park.
I don’t see him being attracted to Liverpool’s style of play and Man City would only be for the money (if that’s all he wants then let him go there).
Personally it won’t be the end of the world if he doesn’t sign for us (unless he goes to Spurs). There are a few other very highly rated players who I think would do just as well but aren’t surrounded by the hype Eden has garnered.
Also, bad news on Podolski, he’s out with ligament injury for ~ 1 month. With the rumors abound that we’d had a bid turned down for Podolski, it seems like this might take that off the table in the immediate. Maybe this summer.

Someone above has said it perfectly – he’s putting himself in the shop window. If he is set on leaving, then putting himself out there inflates his price. Ans we all know how Wenger deals (or should one say – no deal) when he thinks a player is overpriced – even if the price is fair. (look at Mata or Cahill for example).

How’s about we go out right now and sign Vertonghen from Ajax. He’s out of contract soon and isn’t re-signing. He’s a defender we want/need, captain of his team, etc. He’s Belgian and TV5 has said what a great buy he’d be. You get those two together maybe that will help Eden join. Everybody wins! I shouldn’t have watched that vid. It will only make me sad, when I learn he will sign for a team other than Arsenal. I was aware of him when he was 18, but he has developed his game a lot since then. He is much stronger, and has wonderful balance. His finishing has improved, and what I like about his game is although he takes on players, he also knows when to pass. He looks to be a team player.
I’m crossing my fingers, eyes, toes and anything else that can be crossed in hope that he chooses Arsenal. It is his decision, everything he asks for in his interview is exactly what Arsenal can offer. Apart from something he didn’t mention, which is costs.
He asks to be playing every week, and a style of football that suits him. He also asks for history and I’m sure having a team who can speak French will help he he he. Arsenal offer all of this!

Right now we’ve got to put first things first. We’ve got to qualify for the CL. There’s no way Eden would come to Emirates if we’re in Euro. He’s not going anywhere in the next couple of days. So how do we get to the top 4 and thus the CL? Signing a decent strike partner/back-up for RVP is how. What we need are more goals and we certainly can’t rely on the lucky goals like we got from Theo yesterday in every match.

I don’t agree with a lot of fans out there that say Wenger and or the board won’t spend money. We ALL should remember in the summer that we had a bid close to Chelsea’s for Mata. He just preferd them over us. The reason for that we can only speculate, maybe wages, who knows. But the money was there and our bid was similar to theirs.
