Emmanuel Eboue looks set for Galatasary

Posted on July 17, 2011 by admin

The ever-erratic Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has reached the great age of 28, but has never really made a name for himself as a regular in the Gunners first team.

He was a near hate-figure for the Arsenal fans a few seasons ago but has now become like a lovable uncle that cheers up his family by clowning around every now and then!

But now it seems his Arsenal career is coming to an end. He was left behind in London when Arsene Wenger took his squad to Malaysia on tour, and in company with Nicklas Bendtner and Manuel Almunia he has been trying to find a new club for next season, and it seems that he has now found a match.

The Turkish giants Galatasary are reported by today’s People as “being close to a deal” for the Ivorian international, and the curtain will come down on six years at Arsenal.

He will be waved away fondly by the Arsenal Fans by he is unlikely to ever figure in an Arsenal Best XI in the future…….

Thats good news. Jenkinson seems to be more than capable of filling for Sagna. Some of you may think that it is too early to judge his talent but it is never too early to judge his heart and spirit which he has a plenty.

If we sell Bendtner and Almunia we could have close to 25 million extra along with the sale of Clichy which IF wisely USED to buy Enrique and Cahill / Samba would make us champs next season.
See, we need even touch our supposed transfer kitty

  5. Mohamed Zubairu says:

Sherifdeen, what do you mean by “no replacement”? Have you not heard about Carl Jenkinson? Do you not know that he plays at the right full back? Is Sagna not also there? It seems that too many supporters just like to be negative about anything the club done. Jenkinson is already getting the admiration of his team mates and even bloggers. Why don’t we be positive and expect the best in the coming season?

but as for eboue, if you go then thank you and good luck in your future, yes he were’t the best we’ve had but he had heart, and he was always egging the players on when he was not playing.

i dont know why evry1 here is happy to see eboue leave. he always loved arsenal and never once complained about the club , the lack of the trophies , the fans who booed him or the fact that he rarely features !! evry1 in the arsenal team ALWAYS say that eboue is the funniest guy in the squad . He played excellently against Barcelona(given the circumstances) so tbh im rly rly sad he’s leaving it never hurt 2 have him in the squad . and to those of u who will try 2 remind me of the games vs liverpool we all know that was a dive and it sure as hell was not Eboue’s fault that we weren’t able to score but 1 penalty after all those chances!
    hope he doesnt leave…

i don’t believe this story eboue at 28 is one of the mature experienced players, and plays his heart out for arsenal fc he was the best player in the match against liverpool, and i can remember many of times when eboue was a sub and arsenal had scored he’s run with the team to celebrate

  16. chris says:

I would keep Eboue. He is adequate cover at right back and can play further forward – or even in central mid field. He is very quick and, face it guys, he is the best theatrical diver we’ve got !!

  17. Steve of Chiang Mai says:

The opinions of many Gunners notwithstanding Eboue has been a good servant for Arsenal. He is reasonable reliable on the right as a midfielder/winger and even as a backup fullback and even played well at left back when we were in trouble.

Much was made of the unfortunate incident against Liverpool. Not only was the ref conned so were many fans – look at the youtube video especially from behind. It is very obvious as Eboue turned Lucas changed direction 45 degrees and stopped. Nobody could have avoided the Liverpool player and I think it was more about a referee who was hell-bent on keeping a game alive till he could find a plausible reason to award Liverpool a draw, than Eboue actually doing something that wrong. Up until that point he had been one of Arsenal’s better players in the game. Should he leave Arsenal will miss bot his versatility as well as his hilarity!

The only reason any of you wld want SONG to leave is so dat Arsenal will get relegated, go and buy d DVD of every match he played last season, and u’ll be begging him never to leave. The only player i really wldnt want to see next season in Arsenal is Squillacci, and i it looks like d dude wld be arnd for a very long time. cant wilshere just help us kick him during a training session so he misses d season?…lol. everybit a gonner.

  24. young gunnerz says:

u cannot find a better backup Right Back in the world. In fact remember the 05-06 season where he was our first choice he played very well and we even had the best defense in the champions league making it to the finals. He also can be used to on the right wing as a midfielder that will help defend when Sagna is caught out of position and he offers what few of our players offer, some1 that is not afraid to dribble pass players instead of just passing. He offers directness towards the goal instead of just moving from side to side. Although that was an anomaly with Flamini at right back and Senderos in Centerback.

Eboue will be missed, no not our best players but good cover, way better than some of the dross we still have in the team, such as Denilson, Squillaci. Um … Hollyweed, what are you talking about? SONG is not rubbish, he is one of our most consistent performers, Nasri and Fabregas might (or might not be – depending on what you read) but with him, Ramsey and Wilshire we still have a cracking central midfield.

Hollyweed does not know about AFC how on earth can you rubbish his 6yrs in arsenal? Go watch his ganes in 05/06 season when arsenal reached ucl final. He was simply fantastic. Even now that he is not first choice for RB, he still play his heart out. Thank you Eboue if it is true you are finally going.

My good god. Some people on this thread have taken leave of their senses! Eboue a good player?

He’s been everything that’s wrong with foreign players in the prem; he dives, feigns injury, complains and HAS NO HEART!!!

He cost us the title this year. I don’t care what so many people say there’s no conspiracy to make sure that we drew the liverpool game – the fact is Eboue, as always, dived in without thinking.

The fact is he’s rubbish. Totally, completely, utterly rubbish. Which is why he gets booed at home games. By Arsenal fans.

A lot of you can’t seem to tell the difference between a rb and a clown…

@huhh? You are a clueless idiot, so you blame Eboue (who only started 8 matches and came of the bench 5 times most of the times after 70min)for us loosing the title,
but you cheer for Wilshere the others that played every single match but failed to bring the title, have you got a brain??

  33. Naija man says:

I guess the beef abt Eboue is bcos he is black. He is a better player than many Arsenal players. He plays in different positions except gk of course and does his best. He’s commited, hardworking, cheers his team mates even wen he’s nt playing and neva complains. Remember 05/06 season, he was part of Arsenal defence that went 12 matches unbeaten. Almunia single-handedly conceded 5 stupid goals and 5 points against west brom alone last season, 2 seasons ago diaby scored own-goal against Utd, squilacci helped n’castle equalised from 4-0 last season, fabregas handled the ball against totenham wen we’re 2-1 up and did a back pass against Barca to show them he will soon be home. If Eboue leaves now, we will sure miss his loyalty, comitment, and his comics. And only song can do a bit of wat Eboue does wen it comes to playing out of position. Fans should learn to be more grateful to their players!

@Arsenal Future Manager – you muppet. He cost us 2 points which would have put us clear top and reversed a bad run of matches. Wilshere gave everything every time on the pitch and didn’t give points away! Titles are won and lost in the small details, I mean how many times does somebody come off the bench for man u scum and win a game??? Go off and support somebody else you clueless tw*t.

    @huhh?
Am not saying Wilshere is a bad player but:
Fabregas who says he wants to leave
Nasri who says he wants to leave
Wilshere as well a Fabregas, Nasri, Walcot and the rest of the players who lost us points for not been able to hold a lead, or score goals against teams that we should have beaten easily are not to blame,
But Eboue who started 8 matches and made 1 mistake which in all fairness Lucas dived is to blame for all the other 37 other matches that we played utter shit,
your a fool to blame him, use your common sense you dog, I I bet your the kind of idiot to blame Denilson, Rosicky and Bendtner for the reason why we lost the league even doe they where not even starters,
yet you forgive Fabregas for the back pass to Barcelona and him asking to leave as well as Nasri,
players like Chamakh, Rosicky, Denilson…. got us to the carling cup finals, we ditched them for the so called stars and look at what happened,
THINK WITH YOUR BRAIN AND BLAME THE RIGHT PEOPLE

Eboue has always been a talented player with some of the best stamina i’ve seen of late. Problem is he’s a mardy petulant diving cheat. I really wanted to like him when he first got on the scene hoping he’d be a modern day Cafu at right wing back but no, get rid I certainly wont miss him.

Don’t go Eboue. We adore you. :’(
