Eriksson – The FA would give Wenger the England job
The first foreign manager of the England team was the Swede Sven Goran Eriksson, who is now in charge at Leicester City, and he was yesterday asked for his opinion over who should follow Fabio Capello in English football’s most high-profile position.
Many FA members have already stated that the next manager should be English, but Eriksson questions whether Wenger could be called a foreigner to English football after spending 15 years running Arsenal.
Eriksson said: “People talk about Harry Redknapp as the people’s choice. But I’m quite sure if the FA could get Wenger, they would take him.
“If you consider him foreign after all his years in England, I don’t know.

“Arsene Wenger can adapt to everything. I mean, he lives for football and his family.
“You see how much it matters to him every game. But you also see when it’s a Euro or a World Cup, he is working on it for French television. So he doesn’t miss anything. That’s his holiday!”
“I’m sure he can do that but he’s just one of the names. There’s Redknapp. Alex Ferguson will never take it of course!
“For me, it doesn’t matter if he is English. Whatever nationality the coach, he has a difficult time if you don’t reach the semi-finals. Quarter-finals was not good enough!”
How many Arsenal fans think that Wenger could win the World Cup with England? And don’t just say yes because you think it is time he left Arsenal!

as much as his pissing me off these days. i know he could do a better job then capello n redknapp combined. but PLZ don’t get rid of wenger as much as his stubbornness pisses me off it is not him who needs 2 leave. It is better if Wenger coaches England national team or just any country but not a club,if Wenger coaches a club he will be very mean and economical with money but if he coaches a country he will not be mean and economical with money!

He will answer ¨there is not enough quality¨ and it´s true the England team is good in the media but the players lack that edge to sparkle and gel together. Yes even if I were a Manager I would only take the England job for the money knowing that these mediocres who can only play basic soccer and think they are the best will get beaten and I will be sacked following the media outcry
