Exclusive: Lacina Traore to link up with Arsenal
Lacina Traore is currently being offered around clubs in England, and the rest of Europe. His burgeoning reputation amongst football fans and clubs alike has come after his impressive Champions League performances for CFR Cluj and also in the Romanian domestic league.
JustArsenal understands that Traore has been offered to Arsenal and there have been discussions between Arsenal officials, Traore’s representatives and Cluj who are keen for him to link up with Arsenal for a short trial period to see if he performs to a standard befitting of an Arsenal player. No fee has been agreed but so long as another club does not come in with an attractive offer to Cluj, both parties are happy for this to take place.
The result of Traore being offered around European clubs is that significant interest has been created in the 20 year old. Liverpool and West Ham – two of the clubs he has been offered to – are both said to be keen on signing the Ivorian.
Cluj owner Árpád Pászkány is keen to raise the funds to improve the overall quality of the squad organically after sustained investment in infrastructure in the early 2000′s.
This could be a very positive Arsenal transfer rumour as the giant striker (he is 6ft 8in!) has scored 14 goals for Cluj in just 44 appearances, which is a great return for a 20 year-old.

He reminds me of a taller but less skilled JET. Is there really a point in purchasing him when we have a youth player as talented as Jay, playing the same position?

The guy who said that JET is crap should be a Spud fan camouflaging as a gooner. He is afraid of the prospect of JET unleashed against his team. I am not in support of us bringing anyone that would block JET’s chances unless the person is as good as Messi.

JET is a very good prospect but has a big attitude problem which is holding him back. Unless this Lacina Traore can play at centre half as well then forget it.

JET is a winger or central midfielder. watching Traore in youtube vids he has great potential. he looks like a striker also with ability to drop into the midfield and play.
We have pretty good depth in the striker position though; not sure we’ll be getting any players there.
STrangely for once, it’s actually hard to pinpoint any areas where we have deficiencies, aside from the center back position which will be sorted as soon as vermaelen comes back.

1. This player is crap. Just watch Cluj vs. Roma again. He scored but had around 10 chances.
2. We still have Chamakh, Bendtner and JET as tall strikers.

We don’t really need another striker I think. We have three tall strikers like Gooner said above plus RvP, Vela, and Walcott. There is no chance AW will sign him.

This man Lacina, he can strike the ball. He has scored a few long range unstoppable goals to his credit. He is better than Bedtner be far and he works for his team.
