Fabianski – Confidence is the most important thing for goalkeepers
The Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has had a good run in the team, but after being partly at fault for Newcastle’s winning goal at the Emirates this weekend, he may find that the fit-again Manuel Almunia may be reinstated between the sticks for Arsenal tonight against Wolves.
But he says that he only wants to do the best for the team, and to that end he feels that the most important thing to make any player better is to go into the game with total confidence in your ability.
“Confidence is a big deal, it’s a massive deal,” Fabianski said. “There is no question about that. Sometimes even if you are not good technically the confidence can give you more. I think there are some examples of some players who did not have fantastic technique or were physically strong but they were really confident and they could achieve a lot because of that.
“I think it is one of the most, if not the most important thing, in being a football player.”
If that was totally true, then Nicklas Bendtner should be scoring a hat-trick every week!

Fabianski is right.he has demonstrated it himself.almunia lacks mental strength when at fault.he should learn it from him.

The Arsenal goalie can only have so much confidence in himself ,the rest is his fellow defenders in front of the goalie who seem to lack confidence on a regular basis ,failing to keep a clean sheet ?

fabianski shouldnt lose his no1 spot because of this one incident, he has been so solid recently and it will only crush his confidence if almunia is played. if anything, rest fabianski and give him a few days to reflect, and give schesny a go. but for gods sake, get rid of almunia, he has reached his peak and is average at best.

Please not Almunia.
Fabianski made one mistake in 5 matches. Almunia makes 5 mistakes in one match. Schesny also much better.
