Fabregas commits himself to Arsenal as Wenger refuses to talk to Barca!
Now that the World Cup is over, the new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell flew to South Africa with every intention of quickly striking a deal with Arsene Wenger, but according to an exclusive report in todays Mirror, Wenger refused to even meet up with him!
So it looks like Wenger is sticking to his guns and has absolutely no intention of letting his captain leave, and he will be striking a blow against these arrogant Spanish teams that believe they can force other teams to sell their players.
Fabregas himself also seems resigned to remaining at the Emirates, and he proclaimed his new found loyalty after lifting the World Cup with Spain. He said: “All I can say is that this World Cup victory is for all the Arsenal players and fans, they are a world-class club,”
“I am an Arsenal player and proud to be.”
“The first thing I had to do after the final whistle was go to Robin. Instead of celebrating with my friends, I wanted to talk to him,”
“He has been injured a lot and if it wasn’t us he was playing against, it would have been different. I just hope he has his chance again, because he is a great guy and a great leader.”
So that seems to be it then, until Barcelona start talking about Fabregas’ DNA again as soon as the new season starts!
And was that a little hint that Van Persie should be Arsenal’s new captain……….

That was a nice thing man believe. i felt like if it wasent for arsenal who created fabergas there wouldnt be no world cup win! but who knows how you can take that as a good bye gesture, or him saying he loves our club and will finish off his contract! i do not no but we have to see on the 16th of auguest against liverfools. and c if he is on the team sheet!

Fabgregas is a cool and nice guy, it was this Bercelona top guns who nearly spolit his heart but thank God Wenger refused to give in to them. Am too sure he will stay at least for this season or even more. He is such a great player to behold!

robin is the real world campion he played every game on the road to the final .it would be generous to even say fabregas was a bit part player . even though fabregas has a world cup winners medal he must still feel empty inside alot like how alex hleb felt wen barca won the treble..moral of the story stay at arsenal and listen to LE BOSS !!!

Come on… you can’t forgive Fabregas that easy…
He should be stripped of the captains armband at the very least. It should be given to a player that is committed to the club and team, not a player that has one eye on the exit door.
He has only changed his tune after the reality hit home that he will be a bench player at Barcelona after watching the Barcelona midfield duo hold their first places in Spanish team. He hates sitting on the bench but he would readily turn his back on Arsenal and his team mates if the opportunity arises again to join Barcelona. That is not the kind of captain any major team would have… He would be a dedicated Barcelona captain and he should wait for that (6 years may be).

“I Love Arsenal” does not mean he does not want to join Barca….
Theirry loves Arsenal, Viera Loves Arsenal, etc, etc.
Cesc is tainted as he has courted Barca and has been a pawn in the flawed game. He could have said he did not want the move, etc but did’nt. I think he realises a deal cannot be done this season. However I expect him to leave Arsenal next season.
No doubt proclaiming his love for Arsenal..
If he goes my only concern is that we get every penny he’s worth.
Arsenal is bigger then any player, manager, etc. !

Staying with an almost complete barca team (7/11) is responsible for the present situation. All the barca players keep telling him they want but they couldnt tell the coach to play him. Barca is arrogant. The problem has is yet to start, Mourinho is waiting for the them. They will NOT win la liga in the coming season. I can bet on this

You commenters are reading far too much into Cesc’s comments. Can it be that Cesc might be disgusted by the way Barca is going about trying to sign him? Going public with “Cesc wants to sign, Cesc has Barca blood in him?” As a pro-footballer, I would be annoyed to hear managers act as they own me, and that they know what I want. The way Barca went about the whole issue is disgustingly arrogant, and I think Cesc sees that. Keep Cesc as captain, and see what his attitude is during the season. I’ll bet he’ll play twice as hard as last year.

Seems like he doesn’t want to dissapoint his friends and family down there in Spain he also din want the media to focus on his argument of leaving or not leaving during the world cup period. Anyway, Wenger was never troubled by this issue, so I think since day one Wenger and Cesc both knows that he will be staying at Arsenal. At least cesc knows Wenger will not listen to anyone regarding his transfer. I guess Cesc just wants to celebrate and break the bad news to his so called friends at Barcelona after the celebrations. Apart from his so called friends from Barca, people must also realize there are Henry, Vieira, Hleb and Flamini who all cesc idolizes and won’t you think he would have talked to them regarding the path they took and the path he is thinking of taking? Cesc is smart.. but he also cares for poeples feelings.. he already stated earlier that he is only thinking of Arsenal and he’s tired of saying that again and again to the media. Mark my words, he’s an arsenal player and will be an arsenal player for many seasons to come (as long as wenger is around).

Cesc knows he would be in bench as long as Xavi, pedro and iniesta are with barca , just as with spain. Also, Barca are in financial trouble. SO Fabregas Not going for one more season atleast.
