Fabregas says that England need Jack Wilshere ‘to make things happen’
The ex-Arsenal captain thinks that England were lacking any attacking talent on Saturday despite Frank Lampard leading his country to a famous 1-0 win over the World Champions, and thinks they will be a different prospect when Jack Wilshere returns to run the Three Lions midfield.
Fabregas said: “England are a very solid team and if they have Jack back it will make a massive difference to them.
“He is the one with the talent to make things happen and on Saturday we didn’t see that really.”
Spain had 20 shots on goal more than England but just couldn’t get the usual breakthrough, but Fabregas thought that it was just a freak result. He said: “We saw two very different styles of teams. One defensive and one trying to play football and trying to score goals.”
“In the end the one trying to score goals didn’t and the one not trying did. So it was a very weird game. Normally, England don’t play like that when Wayne Rooney and Jack Wilshere are available.
“But unfortunately they were without a few players and maybe it was an obligation to play like that.
“We are getting used to this kind of game but that’s not an excuse.
“We knew the only way they could score was from a set-piece and we conceded a bad free-kick and they scored.
“You cannot say it doesn’t matter. Spain are the world and European champions and we always want to win, but we definitely prefer to lose today than in an important game.
“We lost friendly games to Argentina, Portugal and Italy after we won the World Cup.
“It’s not that the players feel under pressure, but always when we play important games we win at the moment and that makes us feel positive and strong.”
I wonder if England had had Wilshere and Rooney they may have attacked more, but would they have been more likely to lose as well?

Anytym d name wilshere resounds in ma ears, i just cant wait long enuf 4 d 2nd half f d season 2 get underway! Remembr 2 dat we as Vasiriki Abou Diaby, Neves Denilson who were 1ce integral parts of d nt 2 distant Arsenal. They cn all score goals n gud ones too. It only goes 2 prove dat we av depth as far as teams lik man city av especially in d middle of d pack

Not much to say here…that is football. Last season Arsenal played some decent football, we had plenty chances but couldn’t net. We lost stupid games, conceding a goal here and there that we shouldn’t. That is why when chances are created, the strikers must make sure they score. So sorry Fabregas, you can blame your strikers for not making sure they ended in the back of the goals. Luckily for us, RvP is on fire and there is only one place his shots are going and that’s the back of the net.

For such an attacking team and as much possession as spain had. Joe hart only had 1 or 2 easy saves to make. Also they hit the post from a poor defensive header away. Does that story sound familiar of the last 6 years. Hopefully we wont have so much possession this year but do more with it

fabregas is now talking about rvp.if the same had been done by someone like clichy,its a joke.why not if casc talks about it.the boy MAYBE is a bit envious to be saying that rvp got to leave now if he is ever to………and certainly i get a feeling that hes talking about arsenal as if hes still involved with the club in a big way…………………

Why doesn’t Fabregas stick to the Catalan bench and stop talking about Arsenal. He needs to start practicing for the “carling cup of la liga”.
