Fixture congestion may stop van Persie from breaking record
The next three Arsenal games against Wolves, QPR and Fulham are played in the span of a mere six days. Rotation is the name of the game in the Premier League and as such you will see just about every team in the league forced to field bench players or even a second-string side to rest certain key players.
While van Persie is only two goals away from equalling Alan Shearer’s record and three goals from beating it, it would be too much to ask of him to play all three games in the span of six days. Jadedness and more importantly fatigue will undoubtedly come into his game, which would only be terrible for Arsenal at a time when they have to play their best and get all the point.
Realistically speaking, the games against Wolves and QPR are games that Arsenal should be winning even without fielding a full strength team and the game against Fulham presents the biggest challenge to the Gunners. As such, it would be most logical to rest van Persie for the QPR game that is just two days before the Fulham game, or substitute him extremely early into the game.
While this will mean that van Persie has less time on the pitch and indeed less of a chance to break the record and get the coveted title of scoring the most goals in a calendar year, practically for Arsenal it would be a better choice to give him the rest that he needs to be at his show-stopping best.
In his place, then, perhaps Chamakh or Park gets the nod to lead the forward line. Chamakh has been poor all year round but he gives real muscle to the forward line, which could see him play ahead of Park Chu-Young. Winning the three matches ahead would be immense and hopefully Arsenal can get the result with or without van Persie. Perhaps its about time that the Moroccan or the Korean stepped up to the plate with a good performance?

Maybe Wenger will hopefully try Park as a supporting striker, cause i don’t think he can play the lone role that well.

Lets just hope he plays in all the games to break the record even if he comes on as a substitute for some of the games.

I think he can easily do it with the Wolves I expect him to easily score two or 3 he will try to aim this and I have a strong feeling he will be fine and will beat Shearer believe me.
He has asked Wenger not to rest him he would like to play all the games.
My only worry is Fulham game

its a chance for outa favour players to shine and turn there seasons around, asmuch as we all like to slate chamakh and arsharvin surely it would be better if they both found form and started to contribute again, chamakh was great when he joined, maybe a start and a goal is all he needs, id much rather chamakh came good again rather than be forced out due to poor form.
if ever there was a time to give theo a bash upfront its now! he will leave this summer if wenger wont give him atleast a chance to play down the middle.

Knowing Robin Van Persie he will feature in all 3 games providing he doesn’t get injured (touch wood). He is absolutely loving being on the pitch right now even if he appears fatigued so I reckon he will have 75-90 minutes against wolves, 60-70 minutes against QPR and if he hasnt broken the record by then expect a full 90 minutes against Fulham
Robin is a nice guy but he is very competative and will love to see his name on top of great strikers like Alan Shearer and fellow gunner (the King) Thierry Henry. Arsenal legend in his own right.

RVP will feature in all of these games, whether its for 90 or the last 10 minutes. Ideally I would like him to play the first 60min of all, and get us ahead. This takes the pressure off Park/Chamakh and hopefully lets them play a little more freely.

I think RVP wants the record and will try his best to break it in the wolves game. We must not overlook an epl opponent though, the whole squad has to work to get robin his goals.
I’d like to see Walcott up front in the game that robin has to sit with ox and yossi or aa23 on the wings. If not Walcott than park and chamakh should start in a 4-4-2. Again I leave it to arsene to impress me with his choices.

RVP must not be rested as long as he is fit. We’ve got to win as many games as possible and finish in top 4, above Spuds! Look, there could be another tumble along the way, so let us win home games and reduce goal difference compared to other teams.
Happy Holidays Folks, you’re the best fans indeed.

We now understand why it is imperative to get a quality additional striker. R V P is getting overstretched because there is no dependable substitute.I read about Rodellega and am getting sick with such rumour. I have been praying and fasting against such idea coming to Wengers mind.If we have a player like Moussa Sow or a quality like Podolski,we will not be panicking over fatigue or injury to Van Persie.Am not interested in RVP eqaulling someones record, am only interested in his fitness and three points to take us to where we belong.
