Frimpong still joking despite long-term injury worry
The Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong spent the whole of last season on the sidelines after damaging his cruciate ligament in pre-season, but he has come back strongly this year and was sent on loan to Wolves to give him some extended first-team action.
But disaster struck yesterday when he was stretchered off halfway theough the first half of Wolves 2-1 win at QPR and Arsenal and Wolves will both be waiting expectantly for news of the scan on his knee in the hope that he won’t be out for the rest of the season.
After the game, Frimpong appeared on Twitter joking about the fact that he had been “Frimponged”, a reference to his own combative style which is surely going to be in the Oxford English Dictionary next year.
He tweeted: “Having scan on monday hopefully aint serious like my cruciate last year.”
“Three times I’ve been frimponged in the last week #deeeeench loool!”
He may be joking but last year the same problem kept him out for nine months, and surely he must be worried. I know Arsene Wenger will be……..

you clearly know f*** all about arsenal as frimpong has been in the arsenal youth team for about 10 years, coming through with the likes of jack wilshere.
we never purchased him you mug!
hes clearly got quality, you cant just get rid of every player who has an injury.

He seems like such a good lad. Fiery and passionate, yet able to joke and have a laugh at his own expense. With he’s work ethic and such, he’ll certainly be a class player in a few years times.
